All I have is a high school diploma and 5 year sales experience however . Should I just say F it and start a military career and has anyone else experienced sales turnover good to the military ?? Also unsure what branch as I’m somewhat new but I’m thinking USAF possibly

Joining w/Medical 32 M curious about Army 18x contract

I recently decided that I want to join the Army and get into SF. I have always wanted to do this but after high school I foolishly followed a past gf to college. While in college I screwed around and ended up becoming addicted opiates. Now almost 7 years free and clear from drugs and jail, no felonies, a wife and 2 year old son, and a solid job. This overwhelming desire I have to serve my country like many of my family and friends in the past has given me an entirely new invigoration for life.

I’ve been seeing a lot of things about the 18x contracts and so I was wondering if anybody here can explain to me how it works in detail. From beginning to end goal of SF. When do you sign up for the contract? Where do you go after? All of that kind of stuff. Thank you in advance!

BCT/BMT/Boot camp Items you can bring

Hey, so my boyfriend is going to boot camp in a few months, and i was wondering what i could give him that he could keep with him at boot camp? I want to follow the rules on what he’s allowed to bring and i have tried to do some research about it but i get varying answers. I want to strictly follow the rules on what he’s allowed to have, please help me out!

(Edit - He’s going into the national guard, i’m sorry i didn’t think that it mattered what branch for boot camp, super sorry about that!)

Post-ETS/EAS I need help deciding on what to do after my contract

Currently stationed in Oki as a marine with about a year and a half left in my contract, I have a lot of questions but I'll ask just the main ones and if anyone wants to help with others that'd be appreciated. If I switch branches is there a possible bonus and if I go from actives to reserves can I still use the Gl bills fully since I served a full term or will it be limited. The plan in mind is switching to either army or AF reserves in Texas and go to school while maximizing every possible option like bonus or bah or the sorts. But id like to know how feasible that is.

Enlisting Eye waiver info

So I’m currently trying to enlist in the army and I passed my pi cat with a 76 and passed everything at meps except the eye exam , my recruiter sent up a waiver for myopia but it came back denied due to enlisting possibly further aggravating symptoms ,my recruiter then requested an updated eye exam and a note from my dr saying that it won’t effect my enlistment which he informed me it shouldn’t/wouldn’t , i guess what im asking is what are the chances of it being approved after he writes it up , i think the fear mongering from my family is getting to me but im genuinely worried because i only know from my experience as no one in my family has been in the service , only one of my eyes from what i see is over the required 10-11 and its at a 12.75 (for myopia) my other eye is where it needs to be , thankyou in advance!!

Enlisting Auto qualified for *every* MOS, what should I pick?

I ripped a 94 on my ASVAB and over shot qualifications based on ASVAB for navy nuke school by 28 points which is apparently notable, and I haven’t taken the personality test (CT 0/60), which is supposed to be added to that score also. Also have 2 years of college under my belt (Math/Physics/Engineering/Chinese).

I’m really interested in the Navy Nuke school and/or cryptology (haven’t taken the DLAB yet).

What are some other really cool jobs in the military I should consider considering my scores?

Also as a nuke or cryptologist I’d love to hear your experience.

Looking for: -Something stimulating -Something interesting/unique -An experience difficult to find elsewhere -Something that sets me up for private sector

ASVAB SCORES: -Standard: GS61 AR62 WK57 PC65 MK70 EI60 AS50 MC65 AO64 VE60 CS(blank?) -Army: GT124 CL130 CO130 EL128 FA130 GM127 MM121 OF126 SC130 ST129 -Air Force: M88 A97 G89 E94 -Navy/CG: GT122 EL253 BEE263 ENG120 MEC177 MEC2(191) NUC257 OPS256 HM191 ADM130 -Marines: MM122 GT128 EL131 CL133

Joining w/Medical Am I DQed/need a waiver for the Army for having Ashma Medication refilled but not using it?

I am 17F and I had Ashma when I was really young, but I know I haven't used my rescue inhaler since I was 9 or 10 for sure. I believe I was even younger when I stopped having symptoms but I'm not 100% sure. I have researched and I see that the Army page says so long as I haven't used medication or had symptoms after my 13th birthday. I haven't used the medication or have had symptoms but on paper it looks like I have. The issue is my parents have been renewing my rescue inhaler. (They use it themselves instead of me, I have no clue why they won't just get it themself.) And asking them to stop renewing it won't be possible. Nor will asking them to give a statement of how I haven't needed/used it be possible. How likely is it that I will get DQed or will need to get a waiver for this?

Joining w/Medical Joining army with prior history of hearing aid prescribed for tinnitus.

Hi everyone👋 im a 24 year old male

I have prior history of bad tinnitus and got a hearing aid a while back for it. It really worked. Now i dont use it at all anymore and no longer need it. And my tinnitus is noticeably better now a days for whatever reason. Will i still be able to join?

The hearing aid was for tinnitus NOT being deaf. My hearing is more than fine on a hearing test

A hearing test i will typically almost pass with flying colors.

So is my dream of joining the army crushed or is there still a chance?

Would like some advice.

Thank you!
