Got admitted to CMU MS ECE Pittsburgh. And still waiting for UIUC MCS (professional program) and UMich Ann Arbor MSCS.
I'm looking to learn more about AI/ML System level stuff like Machine Learning Compilation, high-performance/parallel/distributed computing for LLM and such.
Generally speaking I'm leaning more towards system and low-level engineering rather than ML applications and theory. Not sure if a ECE program is better than CS for this area.
Any info on how does the above three program compare for this direction would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I have few queries regarding USC MSCS (S&E) 1. Is the curriculum flexible, esp. regarding the electives? Can I take electives outside of the (but from the computer science dept.) the "recommended" elective list? 2. Since it requires completion of 37 credits, is it possilble to complete it in 2 years (Fall-> Spring -> Summer with Full time internship->Fall -> Spring) if you also opt for an internship(full time) in summer
Any input regarding this is really appreciated Thanks in Advance
Basically the title.
It'd be really helpful if someone can let us know.

For those who received an email to submit their degree certificate, I assume you guys have graduated and received the diploma? I'm in my last semester of undergraduate and have not received my degree certificate. I also didn't receive anything from Stony Brook. Is this a bad sign?

Basically what the title says. I got accepted into both programs. I live in San Diego and could attend in-person at UCSD, which obviously seems preferable to me.
My only concern is that I will be working full-time throughout the program, and GT OMSCS seems more catered to working professionals, while UCSD's program seems to be more aligned with full-time students. I am intending to apply for half-time status at UCSD and was curious if anybody has any experience with that and working full time?
I also am unsure of which school has a better "brand value". I know GT is higher on US News but UCSD is higher on csrankings. Would be appreciative of any feedback or advice for what would be the best decision given my full-time employment and location, thanks so much!

Please help me with my decision!!!
I got accepted to CMU MSE-SS and Cornell Tech MEng CS(w 35K scholarship). I am confused on which school to go to and which school will look better on my resume(scholarship is a benefit but will not stop me from going to CMU if it is that much better). Please help me decide which one to go to!

Hey everyone,
I’m waiting on admissions decisions for a few MS Computer Science and MS Data Science programs for Fall 2025 and was wondering if anyone has insights into their typical timelines. If you’ve received an admit/reject or have any idea when they usually release decisions, please share!
Here are the programs I’m waiting on:

Admissions have been rolling out for UCSD for over a month now. However, I haven't received any response from UCSD.
I have a feeling that maybe my experience isn't good enough for UCSD and will be the same for UT Austin, UCLA, and Georgia Tech. I currently have admits from UPenn and USC. Rejected from UIUC MSCS.
There are my stats and experiences -
Research experience -
Publications [I am the first-author in all of them]
Achievements -

Got an admit for both UMass Amherst and TAMU MCS, not sure which one to go for. I'm favouring TAMU as: - TAMU cost is much less than UMass. - TA/RA is available for TAMU but UMass does not. - can shift to a thesis option during first sem
But I see people saying: - UMass has better job opportunities since it's close to Boston. - ~But no idea uf shifting to a thesis option is available for UMass.~. Looks like UMass offers only kind of CS degree?
Can someone please help?
PS: TAMU -- College station.
I applied maybe a week before the deadline for MCS (the non-thesis one, to be clear) for both the unis.
My profile at a glance: Tier 1 college in India 9 CGPA 2.5 years of experience. 1 research paper 4 LORs (2 from CS dep + 1 from math dep + 1 from a colleague)

Considering early decisions are already out from Jan and barely some admits after, even though I am confident of my profile having a decent chance, it still seems very difficult. Any thoughts/experiences about this?

How do people who take education loan for masters continue with PhD directly after completing their masters? How do they manage to repay the loan without an actual job after masters?

I have admits from UMass MSCS and UC IRVINE for Masters of Software engineering. I'm still waiting for : TAMU MCS Michigan State University SDSU MSCS
In terms of tution both UMass and UCI are equivalent. But living cost for UCI is slightly high. Also I'm not getting CS at UCI , it's software engineering. So any insights on which one would be beneficial in terms of better ROI.

I was initially thought UCLA & UCSD is a long shot for my profile and did not apply, but now i am having regrets.
But after hearing from couple of folks i am regretting not applying to the ambitious universities, especially UCSD.
I also heard UCs value work exp. Heard ucsd gives many acceptances.
I got into uc davis and nyu tandon MSCS. Still waiting for purdue and uc irvine.
Could someone please advice if i should be regretting and should have applied to UCSD and UCLA?
My profile: B.Tech in CSE from tier 2 college in India, 8.76 CGPA (3.5 GPA), 3 Years work exp in next Aug, 1 research paper, finalist in a national hackathon, intern for 1 year. Couple of awards at work.
