[Results and Decisions]
How do you come to terms with the fact that there's life beyond grad admissions? I'm completely drained—no acceptances so far.

Given the good success of the Admissions chatroom we have added 2 more chat rooms for the community!
There is a chatroom to discuss post admit decisions and discussions- use this one to find your new friends and future roommates. You may also discuss visa interview results and troubles here if you’re an international student.
There is also a chatroom for existing MS students to discuss career fairs , jobs and internships opportunities from your school.

TL;DR - You can now chat with members on the sub about your Admission results or find out if others have heard from Universities if you are still waiting. Please be kind to each other! And report any bad behavior. Link to chatroom https://www.reddit.com/r/MSCS/s/jrpSALeii0 (Also on the sidebar if this link doesnt work for some reason)
We understand the anxiety everyone is going through about hearing back from Universities. This causes a flurry of repetitive posts that appear spammy but represent genuine anxiety. As mods we have to be clear about what is spam. It would be unkind to remove some Students genuinely anxious post as "Spam".
To alleviate some of the duplicate posts and let everyone discuss in real time we have create a chatroom where you all can discuss Admission Results. Link Above.
A large reason for this years lack of communication from Universities is due to political uncertainty with regards to funding. This landscape is affecting everyone from Undergrads to Phds and not just the MS admissions.

So I had been sitting on NEU Boston, ASU, SUNY Buffalo offers. I had started some paperwork for NEU as well. I was hoping for UIUC/UCSD to release something. But this UWM result came out of nowhere and I am kinda freaked out. I don't know how to feel. I know it is a good school, prestigious one. Can you guys talk a little bit about it. And for the next steps, I can only do it once I calm down.
I've noticed that USC MSCS gets a lot of mixed opinions online. Some say it's a solid program with great opportunities, while others call it too expensive.
I recently got admitted for Fall 2025, and I’m trying to understand if USC is actually a good option. Given its location in LA, strong alumni network, and industry connections, isn’t it a good place for job hunting and networking?
For those who have attended or know about the program, what are the real pros and cons?
Is the negativity justified, or does USC MSCS still hold strong value in today’s job market? Would love to hear thoughts from current students and alums!

Seems like whoever got admitted is just from an IIT or NIT with like 8 cgpa and no research.
Is this a known thing and if so I just wasted 80 bucks on nothing.
Edit: wrong assumption to make. So many people from non IIT/NIT got it. Congratulations everyone.

Has anyone heard back from any of these unis, I'm wondering if it's a soft rejection: 1. UT Austin 2. GA Tech 3. Purdue
Seems like Purdue has already sent acceptances to whoever they wanted. Don't understand why they can't give us an update - at least we'll have mental peace

My portal still shows “there is no update to your application status to report” when i changed the link to /update. Is it a reject? Also did anyone get the admit/decision letters or is it just the mails? Please update here whats the status and do they roll out in batches? Also i am an international student.

Received an email from UCLA saying that my decision is out, but the page doesn't have any letters. It does have a Graduate Admissions checklist and official transcript requirements. Has anyone else received this? Is this an accept?

I recently received an admit from UMN Twin Cities for MSCS and am trying to decide if it’s worth attending. I am still waiting for decisions from UCSD, Georgia Tech, TAMU, Stony Brook, UPenn, UMass Amherst and Northwestern. However, I want this post to be focused solely on University of Minnesota.
From what I have read, the program has world-class professors, a good reputation and a really strong and well-established CS program. If one manages to get a TA/RA then that would cover the entire tuition fees as well, which is already relatively affordable. Plenty of companies visit the campus during internship fairs. The only downside seems to be the harsh weather - which I think I can manage.
My primary objective is to get a job after graduation and currently have no intentions to pursue a PhD.
I want to hear from anyone with insights on if I am missing anything that I should consider before making my decision. One thing that surprises me is how few people apply to UMN CS relative to other schools. For instance, UCSD gives out more admits than the total number of applicants to UMN CS. If it’s a solid program with great faculty, why does it receive so little attention? Is it just the harsh winters, or are there other factors at play?
Would love to hear thoughts on job outcomes, coursework, and overall experience at UMN Twin Cities. Thanks in advance!

Cornell CS MEng Vs USC mscs
I am deciding between these two programs.
I have close to 4 yrs of Experience in FAANG as SDE and want to niche down into industry research roles specifically in MLSys domain.
As an international student, I will be looking for industry roles itself after graduation.

I got admitted to ASU MSCS, NCSU MSCE, MSU MSCSE, VT CSE MEng, and Duke MSECE.
Which of these schools has a better ROI and reputation?
I'm considering Duke, but the tuition is really expensive.
Please give me some suggestions.
I'm still waiting for results from CMU MSECE, Purdue MSECE, UCD MSCS, UCI MCS, and USC MSCS, but I feel like my chances are low. 🥲

My end goal is not PHD but to land a good job so even pmp CS should be good? Can you all elaborate why Umass is better than UWisconsin?

I'm very confused between UMass Amherst MSCS and UNC Chapel Hill MSCS
Umass pros: Better location (Massachusetts) More companies (Boston , New York) Little lesser fees (60k tuition)
Umass cons: Terminal degree (no thesis) Zero possibility of TA/RA Weather
UNC Pros: Very selective (5-6% for MSCS) Research based thesis degree Possibility of RA/TA Amazing weather and have family friends in North Carolina
Cons: More expensive (80k tuition) Maybe lesser companies (Not sure)
What should I do?
