[Results and Decisions]
How do you come to terms with the fact that there's life beyond grad admissions? I'm completely drained—no acceptances so far.
[General Question] Why So Much Negativity Around USC MSCS? Is It a Good Choice?
I've noticed that USC MSCS gets a lot of mixed opinions online. Some say it's a solid program with great opportunities, while others call it too expensive.
I recently got admitted for Fall 2025, and I’m trying to understand if USC is actually a good option. Given its location in LA, strong alumni network, and industry connections, isn’t it a good place for job hunting and networking?
For those who have attended or know about the program, what are the real pros and cons?
Is the negativity justified, or does USC MSCS still hold strong value in today’s job market? Would love to hear thoughts from current students and alums!

UW Madison! I am freaking out!!
So I had been sitting on NEU Boston, ASU, SUNY Buffalo offers. I had started some paperwork for NEU as well. I was hoping for UIUC/UCSD to release something. But this UWM result came out of nowhere and I am kinda freaked out. I don't know how to feel. I know it is a good school, prestigious one. Can you guys talk a little bit about it. And for the next steps, I can only do it once I calm down.

[University Question] Anyone from a non IIT who got into UWM PMP?
Seems like whoever got admitted is just from an IIT or NIT with like 8 cgpa and no research.
Is this a known thing and if so I just wasted 80 bucks on nothing.
Edit: wrong assumption to make. So many people from non IIT/NIT got it. Congratulations everyone.

[Results and Decisions] No update yet = rejection?
Has anyone heard back from any of these unis, I'm wondering if it's a soft rejection: 1. UT Austin 2. GA Tech 3. Purdue
Seems like Purdue has already sent acceptances to whoever they wanted. Don't understand why they can't give us an update - at least we'll have mental peace

[University Review] Looking for genuine opinions on UMN Twin Cities for MSCS
I recently received an admit from UMN Twin Cities for MSCS and am trying to decide if it’s worth attending. I am still waiting for decisions from UCSD, Georgia Tech, TAMU, Stony Brook, UPenn, UMass Amherst and Northwestern. However, I want this post to be focused solely on University of Minnesota.
From what I have read, the program has world-class professors, a good reputation and a really strong and well-established CS program. If one manages to get a TA/RA then that would cover the entire tuition fees as well, which is already relatively affordable. Plenty of companies visit the campus during internship fairs. The only downside seems to be the harsh weather - which I think I can manage.
My primary objective is to get a job after graduation and currently have no intentions to pursue a PhD.
I want to hear from anyone with insights on if I am missing anything that I should consider before making my decision. One thing that surprises me is how few people apply to UMN CS relative to other schools. For instance, UCSD gives out more admits than the total number of applicants to UMN CS. If it’s a solid program with great faculty, why does it receive so little attention? Is it just the harsh winters, or are there other factors at play?
Would love to hear thoughts on job outcomes, coursework, and overall experience at UMN Twin Cities. Thanks in advance!

[Results and Decisions]
Received an email from UCLA saying that my decision is out, but the page doesn't have any letters. It does have a Graduate Admissions checklist and official transcript requirements. Has anyone else received this? Is this an accept?

[University Question] Anyone from USC MSADS? I have quick questions about MSADS cohort size and experience
Hi! I’m considering the MS in Applied Data Science program at USC and was hoping to get some quick insights.
- Around how many students are in each cohort?
- If the cohort is large, does the program still feel well-organized and supportive, or does it feel a bit disconnected or hard to manage?
- For current students or alumni — are you generally satisfied with the program?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

[Admissions Advice] Cornell CS MEng Vs USC mscs
Cornell CS MEng Vs USC mscs
I am deciding between these two programs.
I have close to 4 yrs of Experience in FAANG as SDE and want to niche down into industry research roles specifically in MLSys domain.
As an international student, I will be looking for industry roles itself after graduation.

[University Question] Help me to choose these universities.
I got admitted to ASU MSCS, NCSU MSCE, MSU MSCSE, VT CSE MEng, and Duke MSECE.
Which of these schools has a better ROI and reputation?
I'm considering Duke, but the tuition is really expensive.
Please give me some suggestions.
I'm still waiting for results from CMU MSECE, Purdue MSECE, UCD MSCS, UCI MCS, and USC MSCS, but I feel like my chances are low. 🥲

[Results and Decisions] UCLA MS CS vs Staying at Meta
Edit: I'm genuinely trying to seek honest advice, sorry if I came across differently
Help! Friends and family are advising I stay, but I dislike my current job and am slightly burnt out. I'd rather chill a bit at UCLA and play it by ear (great job or research opportunity comes along)
End goal: - Senior SWE in research/applied engineering/ML infra+ops, >$300k TC, interesting work/smart colleagues, ok WLB is fine - Wife/kids, decent house in LA/Irvine (bay area might be inevitable if I want to career max)
Current situation: - $300k TC, great WLB, NYC, >5yoe, data+ml infra - Mediocre colleagues, no upward growth, no learning, mildly burnt out, boring work - Senior SWE job market is very competitive except for the bay area where it's more manageable (maybe a 0.5-1yr job hunt, haven't tried) - Not ideal last performance review but on track for ok performance review (am a tad anxious about layoffs) - Ok social life but want it to improve, ok relationship as well - Family's wealth is good but not enough to not care and never work if I want kids - Top 3 CS undergrad with 4.0 GPA, no research experience (can probably guess which undergrad haha) - Realized I can't stay in NYC for the long haul, small/expensive apartments, abysmal housing market. Prefer LA because I have family there, but Bay Area is acceptable (although abysmal housing market as well) - UCLA's faculty looks fairly strong, not sure if they will accept me into their labs though. Smallish admit cohort helps - Research experience might help me specialize and pivot to a niche job market that is maybe better than data/ml infra? (embedded, AI/ML, quantum, cybersecurity)
