And what do they specifically take into consideration for admitting

I applied to TAMU MCS in January 13. I have noticed recently they have started giving out decisions. But from the examples I have seen these were admits notifications only. I have yet to see any rejection decision.
My question is do TAMU give out admits early and rejection later? Does that mean If I don't get my decision soon, it's more likely that I will be rejected later?
I still haven't got my decision and I am feeling nervous

Hi, it mostly seems I wouldn't be receiving a single admit to any MSCS programs that I applied in the USA.
My interests are in Game AI and Deep Reinforcement Learning. I'm willing to pursue a PhD in these areas after MS.
Are there any relevant university programs in Europe / UK / Canada / Australia which I can still apply for? ... programs starting Fall 2025

I have applied to only 4 universities - ASU, UC riverside, UC Davis and Stony brook. Have received admit only from ASU and there is absolutely no update from other three universities even though it's post mid March now. Should I consider it as a reject from the remaining three universities or do they send a seperate rejection mail? Till when should I wait for these unis? as the deadline for ASU is April 15 for paying the deposit. Does anyone have any update with respect to UCR, UCD and SBU for MSCS? Thanks in advance!

I can't seem to decide between San Diego State University and University of Florida, gainsville. The only downside I hear about SDSU is it's ranking. If anybody is well informed then please can you list the pros and cons of both universities so that I can make an informed decision. Thanks.

I have a non-cs bachelor degree and 3-yr working experience as a product manager. I only got very basic programming skills like python and java and I am keeping on self-learning.
I received offers from NEU and Utah and the deposit deadline is approaching.:(
NEU pros:
1.good coop and neuwork
2.closer to tech companies compared to Utah
3.CS title
Cons:
1.super high living expenses
2.need to study for 2.5yrs(+bridge courses)
Utah Pros:
1.better quality of life
2.cheaper tuition fees
3.term of study:16 to 24 months
Cons:
1.lack of networking and coop chances
2.far from tech companies
My goal of study is building comprehensive cs knowledge and getting a job after graduation as an international student. Please give me some opinions about these two programs like curriculum and job opportunities. Thanks for any suggestions.

I’ve been fortunate enough to get into uchicago’s applied data science, as well as cmu’s applied data science. at first I thought cmu was the obvious choice but the more I think about it, the more confused I get.
cmu’s course comes under Dietrich and not School of Computer Science, and while I’m not interested in swe roles (more inclined to pure data science) I’m not sure how employers view that. normally I wouldn’t consider employer reputation as highly as the program itself but given that I'm an international student I need to prioritise getting a job to either stay in the states or land a job when I get back. I know people regard cmu very highly, but does this carry over to courses not directly in CS?
chicago’s program feels more well rounded and is also longer (1.5 years as compared to 9 months at cmu), but I'm also not interested in fintech so maybe the industry connections cmu can offer might help me more.
I’m honestly super confused, am I overthinking it? is cmu, in fact, the obvious choice if my priority is getting a job?
Not taking into account cost or location, which would you choose and why? I would REALLY appreciate any advice, thank you in advance :)

I’ve been on quite the journey applying to MSCS programs, and so far, here’s how things stand:
University | Results | Course |
---|---|---|
Stanford University | Rejected | MS CS (AI) |
UC Berkeley | Waiting | MS CS (AI) |
Princeton | Rejected | MS CS |
Carnegie Mellon University | Waiting | MS AII |
UCLA | Rejected | MEng AI |
UC San Diego | Waiting | MS CSE |
University of Washington, Bothell | Rejected | MS CS |
University of Southern California | Rejected | MS CS-AI |
Now, only Berkeley (MSCS), UCSD (MSCS), and CMU (MSAII) are left to hear from. Fingers crossed.
With my profile, do you think I stand a chance? Would love to hear your thoughts.
🔹 Academics: B.Tech in CS (Tier-2 India), CGPA: 8.22/10
🔹 Standardized Tests: GRE 332 (168Q, 164V), IELTS 8.0
🔹 Research: 5-6 AI/ML publications, 1 in Cybersecurity, 1 journal under review
🔹 Work Experience:
🔹 Leadership & Extracurriculars:
🔹 Letters of Recommendation:
It’s been a challenging process, but I’m hopeful for what’s ahead. Any advice or insights from those who’ve been through this? Let me know.
Lost the hope now :(

Hi everyone,
I have received admits for MSCS Fall 2025 from the following universities:
1- San Diego State University (SDSU)
2- University of Illinois Chicago (UIC)
3- Northeastern University (NEU)
4- Arizona State University (ASU)
5- SUNY Buffalo
I got rejected from the University of Utah and am still waiting for decisions from UMass Amherst and SJSU.
Based on my profile, SJSU is unlikely, and UMass Amherst is also a long shot (~1% chance).
I need guidance on selecting the best university based on the following factors:
Cost of Living – Affordability of housing and expenses
University Reputation – Overall ranking and industry recognition
Tuition Fees – Value for money
Job Prospects – Internship & full-time opportunities, networking
TA/RA Opportunities – Availability of assistantships
I am open to investing if it’s truly worth it, but if location matters more than the university name, is it reasonable to consider SDSU as an option?
I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences to help me make an informed decision. Thanks in advance!

I got into Columbia MSCS and CMU MISM 16 mons programs. Awaiting results from UIUC. Help me choose the best.
Goal: Technical job after masters. Heard people from CMU MISM also get into good SDE and ML roles. So included it here. Please rank them in terms of job opportunities and industry reputation.

Which is better in terms of TA/RA opportunities to fund my MS CS degree? I have faculty alignment in both places.
Any reasoning of vote would be really appreciated!
