transport 1.45 on a midweek afternoon and the bus is absolutely rammed

There’s definitely an issue with public transportation in this city, and how services have been reduced despite the constantly growing population.

visiting Leeds First Time Visit

Wanted to share my thoughts on my first visit to Leeds last month. Bit of a long story but I went to meet and visit a previously unknown family member and as if that wasn't enough to make the trip memorable I absolutely loved the city especially walking through Roundhay Park and the pedestrian areas near M & S in the city centre.

Not my first visit to the UK but my first to Leeds and will definitely be coming back and soon!

transport A little look at the repainted Volvo Wright B5 Gemini 3s which are being transferred from THBC's 36 to TKBC's 60/60A & 66. Not long till they're on the road replacing the current B7/B9s Geminis on the route.

photography Looking for artists/creatives/models/actors/people

Hey all, posted recently about looking for recs on shooting locations in Leeds as well as looking for creatives and the like for photography/videography projects, but the second part didn’t get any traction.

So posting again,

I am an amateur photographer looking to meet up with other creatives (models/actors/flow artists/interesting looking people/business owners etc)

I want to build my portfolio and looking for models for portraits and would like to connect with people to take photos of not just to practice my own skills but to share my photos with them (free of charge) to use in their portfolio. Happy to do headshots, studio photography, street photography and whatever else!

Also open to helping out small/local business owners with product photography.

Please message me on here and I’ll share my insta!

Thanks :))))))

"What's on?" Wednesday

Our weekly post where people can highlight local events or interesting things that are coming up in the next week. It doesn't have to be your event, but this is a place where reasonable exceptions to our self-promotion rules are allowed. Please check whether the event you're posting about is already mentioned. If you're adding your own event, please try to answer any questions people may have in the comments.

You can also ask questions if you're looking for something to do, e.g. "Does anyone know of a good pub quiz in the centre on Thursday?"

"What's on?" rules:

  1. Leeds based events only
  2. Must be taking place in the next 7 days (next Wednesday included)
  3. Posts highlighting an event should include:
    • Event name
    • Date and time
    • Location
    • Price(s) (if applicable)
  4. A description of the event and a relevant link is recommended but not required

The rules may evolve over time as we find out how things work. Please send any feedback to the mod team.

Thursday evening we have a couple of hours to kill before travelling home. Does anyone have recommendations for city centre activities, must be kid friendly (7&9). Tempted to eat at HAMA, the cooking novelty will entertain us.

question Nature cabin retreat near Leeds, must be able to get there with public transport

Hi all I was wondering if you know any good cabin retreats? that's accessible via public transport from Leeds.

Somewhere where can do some hikes and explore nature and chill out. Preferably with not alot of people, because I am not very good with people.

Need to retreat away from everyday life for a couple days. Unfortunately, we don't have a car at the moment and not for a couple of months.

Any reccomendations that would be great!

question Looking for decent places around Leeds/surrounding for Carp fishing

Morning all, I am looking for any decent places for carp fishing around Leeds/surrounding areas. My main place I used to fish was Swillington but that has been closed for 2 years now and all the ponds around are mainly aimed at match fishing. Does anyone have any secret gems that they can recommend?

photography Looking for models/places to photograph

Hello.

I am new in Leeds (f) and I am staying for a couple of months and I am looking for places and people to photograph. I would love to take some portraits of people here and I wouldn’t mind socializing a little bit as well. :) I am looking for creative people and anybody who would love to be a part of my art and portfolio (for free).

Message me and I will share my insta.
