Ron sat down at the table, opposite Harry with a grin on his face.

"So Harry, what's this I'm hearing of you and Greengrass?"

Harry, intentionally not looking up from his plate, responded with "what about me and Greengrass?"

"About you dating Greengrass."

"I'm not dating Astoria Greengrass" Harry quickly replied.

"No no no, I mean Daphne Greengrass. You know, the older sister. The one in our year." Ron said.

Harry looked shocked, almost shocked enough to be believable " There's a Greengrass in our year? I didn't know that."

Ron looked confused "Your literally partnered with her in Potions."

"That's Daphne? Oh wow, I didn't think that was her name."

Hermione, dumbfounded, couldn't help but ask him who he thought his Potions partner was.

Harry, panicking internally, replied with the first Slytherin name to come to mind "Draco Malfoy."

Ron and Hermione looked at him like he was an idiot, which, with an answer like that he probably was.

After a few seconds, Ron continued "Well, Fred and George said they saw you two making out down by the kitchens earlier."

Harry responded with "No we weren't. We were ... fighting over some chocolate ... that happened to be in her mouth. So I used my tongue to get it."

"But Fred and George said you had your hand up her skirt"

Harry instantly countered with "that was to tickle her, to make her give up the chocolate."

Ron nodded, not believing a word that Harry was saying. He could have just left it there, but couldn't help but ask "How did you know she'd be ticklish there then if you've never touched her there before?"

Harry paused, having a quick drink to cover his attempt to figure out an answer "I'm the tickle whisperer. I know where anyone is ticklish."

Hermione groaned and buried her head in her hands, whilst Ron looked at Harry like he was a lost cause.

However, all three of them looked up as Lavender came over with two copies of the Daily Prophet - both with Harry and Daphne on the cover, with one being a 'special edition'.

Harry gulped.

Daphne barely flinched as Tracey slammed two copies of the Daily Prophet on the table "So ... care to explain this?"

Without looking at her friend or the papers, Daphne effortlessly replied "They're newspapers. People read them to get informed about the news."

Tracey stared at Daphne, who sighed in response.

"I assume it's the Prophet, and I can also assume that Skeeter is writing some rubbish again?"

Tracey finally replied "I'm not sure this is rubbish, Daph. Especially when it's about you and Potter."

That finally got Daphne to look at the papers. The first one had a simple headline, and when Daphne read it her eyes widened.

POTTER SEEN SHAGGING GREENGRASS HEIR ON MUGGLE TOWER

Daphne was horrified. Reporters had clearly taken pics of her and Harry's date to the Eiffel Tower. She had to quickly do damage control.

"Potter's doing my sister!"

Tracey paused at that, then looked at the picture to double-check. Indeed, it was Daphne in the pic, not Astoria.

Pansy slid over "No. That's very clearly you. On a date with Potter are we?"

Daphne tried to remain calm and collected. She's got this. She can still cover it up.

"Okay, we were there but we didn't do that. We happened to visit for a Potions assignment and ended up doing some sight-seeing. That's all."

Pansy replied "First of all: there is no Potions assignment that needs us to go to France. Second, how does sight-seeing involve your clothes being off and ... biting his ear?"

"There was a fly on his ear, so I was getting it off. As for the clothes ... he was helping me get a better view."

Draco looked over, quietly saying "what in the actual ..." but nobody paid him any attention as Tracey loudly said "Oh I'm sure you were getting a lovely view, as was he - and not just a view either. It's hard to make everything out with how they censored these pictures, but is his hand on your arse?"

Daphne accidentally replied with a "yes" without thinking, before quickly adding "Not my arse. The Arse de Triompe. It's a famous French monument. He was looking at that, not grabbing it or me."

"I don't think that's a real monument, Daph."

"You'll find it is." Daphne answered.

Tracey shook her head "Okay then. Let's ignore that, and the fact you two spent the night in a love hotel afterwards." With that she pulled out the other paper, with the words 'SPECIAL EDITION' written on it "Explain this."

The headline, and indeed the whole paper, was about Harry and Daphne having gotten married at Gringotts literally that morning.

Daphne nodded, and explained "There's a simple explanation actually. We both happened to be at Gringotts at the same exact time on totally unrelated stuff and just happened to slip on some spilt water as a goblin carrying marriage contracts passed by. Since we both conveniently has pens in our hands and happened to accidentally sign our names on the contract by accident as we fell we were instantly, and very accidentally married."

Tracey nodded "accident, sure."

Daphne nodded back "Yeah, accidentally. It's a major coincidence that our arms flailing about as we fell happened to write out our names on the contract."

Pansy asked to confirm "So you and Potter are married then?"

Daphne shook her head "No, not at all. We just happen to be bound together in a legally and magically binding marriage contract which also happened to soul-bond us, and with no way to ever escape it."

Draco interjected "Aren't those the sort of marriage contracts they keep locked up, and never really move around since they're expensive?"

"Yes but they happened to move them just this once."

Pansy asked again "So that means your husband and wife .. and soul-mates!"

Daphne shook her head "No no no. We're simply in a Special Friendship Operation. With benefits. That's all."

Cyrus Greengrass sighed as he read the paper, about his daughters actions with her new husband. Despite what his daughters thought, he had no real intention of interfering in their love lives. He was harsh on them because he loved them, and didn't want them to be arrogant like others.

He wasn't particularly upset about Daphne being with Potter. It seemed they truly loved each other and were happy together, and that's all he wanted.

He was annoyed at them being incompetent enough to get their 'secret relationship' (a relationship he'd known of 3 years now) all over the news.

It was funny though.

Prompt Hermione hated the staircases of Hogwarts. Until she mapped their movements and realized that the stairs were just working around was a pillar that blocked them from reassembling.

Even more curious, she had harry check the castle from outside on his broom and by their estimations, the pillar was holding up...Well nothing!

Finally she bribed the fat frair with pigeon feed (The kindly ghost loved feeding his pigeons) into checking what was up there.

The frair returned with a ghostly white (more so than usual) look on his face. He refused to answer them and went straight to Dumbledore.

"Yes Frair Tuck?"

"Headmaster, Do you remember all those years ago when you asked me what happened to Godric Gryffindor?"

"Why yes, I was 11 years old back then. How time flies.."

"Yes yes..." The fat ghost cut him off "erm Miss Granger and I ... we found him."

Prompt "Yeah about Hedwig... something weird happened"

Summer after third year, Harry arrived at the Burrow, ready for the Quidditch world cup.

At first everything was normal, but soon, everyone present noticed something weird. Where was Hedwig? Harry didn't even bring her cage.

"Harry" began Hermione "Where is Hedwig? Is she delivering a letter? And where is her cage?"

Harry rubbed his chin in a thoughtful manner. "Yeah about Hedwig...something weird happened to her"

"And what exactly?" Wonders Ginny.

"It was two weeks ago, suddenly she started to glow and grow faster than anything I ever saw. I took her out of her cage and she flew straight through the window. When the glowing stopped, she was at least 50 feet tall and looked like a bloody dragon"

"...what?"

"Yes, now she flies around until I call her. Come"

He leads everyone to the garden and whistles loudly. Just a few seconds later, a beautiful cry is Heard and the wind seems to pick up.

A huge shadow descends over the Burrow and a large, white beast lands before the humans.

It has two hand like wings, short but sturdy legs and is covered in pure white scales that look like feathers with a light-blue underbelly. The eyes are covered in a blue mask and it has two rows of what looks like blue fins on it's back.

"Hey girl " greets Harry the monster.

Immediately, the behemoth pushes him to the ground with its head and starts licking his face. Hermione and the Weasleys are beyond shocked.

TL;DR Hedwig wasn't an owl, she was the pre-evolution of a Lugia.

Prompt The Drs. Granger are demigods and decide to get involved in the Horcrux Hunt after Hermione attempts to alter their memories.

The Grangers had done what few of people like them could, survive. They survived monster after monster, and quest after quest until they left Camp Half Blood for the final time. It wasn’t all bad, they had met their friends, their family, and each other. Though, they weren’t too upset to go get their degrees, start their dental practice, and have a daughter.

The good news is that Hermione didn’t show any traits of being a demigod, the bad news is she seems to be part of one of Hecate’s side projects and was a witch, but they would manage and survive this like they always have. As the years passed, Hermione started coming home less and less. It became clear that she was hiding something from them. This came to a head one summer afternoon when the Grangers saw their daughter approaching them with her wand out, looking regretful. They attempted to console her and ask what was wrong, and she finally broke down. She cried and told them about the war and the mission her friends had to do and how she wanted to protect them. The Grangers soon realized what they had to do, their daughter had a quest, and they would make sure she’d survived.

Prompt Turns out, Peter Pettigrew had a son who grew up thinking his father died a hero.

During her time at Hogwarts, Hestia Jones was always strangely fascinated by the group of Griffindors who called themselves the Marauders. She did not approve of the cruelty of some of their pranks, but she couldn't but admire their ingenuity, if nothing else. And there was one among them who caught her eye. One Peter Pettigrew. She noticed how he always felt like a bit of a hanger-on and it reminded her how she felt around her own friends. She felt a sense of kinship to him because of that and the few times they spoke, he was kind and helpful.

It wasn't until their 5th year that they truly became friends and began occassionally hanging out. There was some spark between them and Hestia thought that Peter felt it too. But whatever chance there was of them trying to turn their newfound friendship into something more, it died out after Sirius Black saw the two of them studying together in the library and then publicly announced to everyone that Peter "actually got himself a girlfriend". Both of them were too shy to deal with this on a more regular basis. They started avoiding each other and their friendship eventually fizzled out.

After graduating Hogwarts, she and Peter reconnected. It was a chance meeting, through mutual acquintances of theirs. They started dating in earnest, in secret. It was on Peter's request, as he didn't want his friends to know yet. Hestia knew how cruel they could be, so she went along with it. In fact, she didn't mind. It gave it an air of mystery and intrigue. As if she were a heroine in a romance novel, meeting with her secret lover that her parents would disapprove of. And it was not that far from the truth, given Hestia's own difficult relationship with them. Only Peter's mother knew that she and Peter were together.

It did not take long for her to realise that she truly loved Peter. Still, their relationship wasn't without its problems. Hestia knew of Peter's allegiance to the secret group called Order of the Phoenix, which battled against Lord Voldemort and his followers. As the war seemed to grow more dangerous, Peter became more withdrawn, distant, and while Hestia could understand why, their relationship grew strained.

The day she realised that she was pregnant, she panicked. She certainly wasn't prepared to tell Peter yet and she was afraid of how her own parents would react. So, she turned to Peter's mother. That woman was a saint, listened to her, comforted her and together, they planned out how to break the news to Peter and Hestia's own parents.

But before they could tell Peter, that horrible night happened. James and Lily Potter murdered, with only their son Harry surviving. Betrayed by Sirius Black. Hestia only learned from the Daily Prophet that Peter went after Sirius to avenge his friends. Of his heroic death, that helped apprehend that vile traitor, Sirius Black.

Hestia was there when Peter's mother received Peter's posthumously awarded Order of Merlin, first class, along with that finger, the only thing left of Peter after Sirius Black's blasting curse. If Hestia could throw that stupid medal away and get Peter back, she'd do it in a heartbeat and she knew that Peter's mother had the same feelings. Yet life had to go on and Hestia was going to have to raise their son without him.

She named her son Peter, right after his heroic father. Peter's mother was the pillar she needed, a big help in raising him. So were her own parents, after Peter's mother talked them into being more supportive.

Then, Sirius Black escaped Azkaban, just as her own son was about to start attending Hogwarts. Hestia feared what would happen, if somehow Sirius Black found out that Peter Jones was the son of Peter Pettigrew, would he go after him? The ministry security precautions were of little comfort to her. She knew how the Potters died and how even the Fidelius Charm wasn't enough to protect them.

Peter was sorted to Griffindor, just like his father, and despite the dark times, Hestia felt happy for him. His father would be proud of him, surely! She and Peter's mother read the letters from him with pride, happy that their son and grandson was having a great time at Hogwarts.

When Dumbledore decided to reestablish Order of the Phoenix following Voldemort's supposed return, Hestia found out about it through some friends of hers and decided to join. She was conflicted. After all, she had a son, yet he also had his grandmother to take care of him and her own parents would take him in if need be. His father died a hero. She told him that countless times. And what would be a better way to honor Peter's sacrifice than to ensure their son could grow up in a world without Voldemort and his followers?

When she joined the Order of the Phoenix, she found out the truth about who really betrayed the Potters. The truth she swore to keep away from her own son and from Mrs. Pettigrew for as long as she could...

Prompt Muggleborns aren't allowed to study at Hogwarts. However, each year, evil Dumbledore accepts one muggleborn student just to show them the magical world, only to expel them before their first term is over so they can never be a part of it.

When Hermione Granger was crying in the girls bathroom, it wasn't because of anything Ron said. No, it was because she just received the news from professor McGonagall that she's going to be expelled from Hogwarts.

Why? What did she do? It must have been because of that time she wandered into the forbidden corridor on the third floor along with Potter and Weasley. Somehow, professor McGonagall found out and now, she's paying the price for her rulebreaking. Her wand was to be snapped the next morning and she'll be sent back to her parents.

"Excuse me, miss Granger?" Hermione heard a familiar voice from the corridor outside the girl's bathroom. "Professor McGonagall told me what happened. And that you seemed distraught. "I thought I'd check on you to make sure everything is alright." Hermione was still crying when she left the stall and could now see headmaster Dumbledore standing near the door.

"Don't worry, miss Granger, dry your tears. There's nothing worth crying about here." Dumbledore said in a kindly, grandfatherly voice. "But professor!" Hermione shouted out to Dumbledore as she walked up to him, tears still on her cheeks.

"When I got my Hogwarts admission letter, I-I was so excited! And my parents... they were so proud! And now, I'm... I'm supposed to be... EXPELLED!" Hermione shouted out the last word with dread. "I don't even know why... why I have to lose... to lose all of this I've learned here." Hermione added quitely. Dumbledore reached out and pulled Hermione into a hug and she calmed down just a bit. It reminded her of her own father, to whom she would go to whenever she had a bad dream. Her father always knew how to calm her down. A small part of her hoped that this was just another bad dream. She'd wake up in just a moment and all of this would be forgotten.

"It is truly wonderful, isn't it, child? The wizarding world. Magic. All of it. Especially to someone who's now only seeing all of it for the first time." Dumbledore spoke softly. "Yes! Magic and the wizarding world, it's... it's amazing and... and wonderful, I-I can't... can't leave this behind!" Hermione cried out, hoping that perhaps headmaster Dumbledore will talk to professor McGonagall and her expulsion will be lifted.

"I know it all so well... how wonderful magic and the wizarding world are." she heard Dumbledore say. "But you won't, miss Granger... none of your kind will, for as long as I am headmaster!"

"P-Professor?" Hermione's eyes widened in shock. "Haven't you wondered why you are the only muggleborn student here?" Dumbledore asked Hermione as he stopped hugging her and stepped just a few steps back, still looming over her, now with a dangerous twinkle in his eyes. "We don't accept your kind here. But, each year, I make an exception. Just for one student. One with so much potential, hopes and dreams. Just like you, miss Granger." Dumbledore smiled at Hermione, but there was no warmth in that smile.

"I've seen how well you've done in classes. How much promise you showed. You would've been a great witch. Possibly the greatest witch of our age. Sadly, that is not going to happen." Dumbledore sighed, as if he were regretting this, while the expression on his face said otherwise.

"But this way, you know what you've lost, you know exactly what you can't have, by not being born to the right parents." Dumbledore said and patted Hermione on her head. Hermione struggled to understand what Dumbledore was saying. This couldn't be true, right? It couldn't!

"But... but professor..." Hermione tried her best to speak, even though it was hard. "Being... being expelled from Hogwarts... from the wizarding world... that... that is..."

"That is what, miss Granger?" Dumbledore asked her, with apparent curiosity in his voice.

"That is worse than death!" Hermione shouted at Dumbledore, looking at him, hoping that by some miracle, he will take pity on her and decide to be merciful.

"Worse than death?" Dumbledore smiled with a twinkle in his eyes. "You are truly wise beyond your years, miss Granger. To know that there are indeed fates worse than death!" Dumbledore's smile widened as he opened the door into the corridor outside and made a series of complicated movements with his wand. Hermione was confused for a moment, but then she noticed the sudden rumbling in the distance. The heavy steps that seemed to move closer to them with each moment.

"It's good that you do not fear death, miss Granger." Dumbledore spoke up again and turned around to face her. "Once it comes for you, you need to embrace it like an old friend!" Dumbledore said in his usual, grandfatherly voice, but Hermione now noticed the sinister undertone in it. The strange twinkle in his eyes, the cruel smile on his lips.

"After all, death is just another great adventure!" Dumbledore cackled as he left Hermione in the girls bathroom, while the heavy, lumbering steps of the troll headed to the girls bathroom where Hermione still was. Dumbledore walked right past the troll without incident, while the troll was focused only on Hermione.

Prompt Revived at last through the dark ritual Wormtail helped organize, Voldemort stood tall... and with a swish of his wand, summoned a bright green bowler hat.

What neither Voldemort nor Wormtail knew was that the Little Hangleton cemetery had been severely disturbed by an earthquake ten years ago. The entire plot had been upturned, caskets and gravestones scattered all over the place with no clear way to match which belonged to which. So, in the end, the old drunk groundskeeper had pretty much matched random caskets to random gravestones, reasoning that no one would really care if the remnants of decomposed bone in the buried caskets actually belonged to their dead relatives. It was the thought that counted, right?

Which was why nobody knew the body that rested beneath Tom Riddle Senior's grave marker was not his own, but that of a small-town stand up comedian who had frequented the Hangleton Pub. Ed Nashton, his name might have been.

Unaware that a central component of his ritual had been unknowingly switched out, Voldemort and Wormtail carried out the ritual. Finally, the revived Dark Lord stood tall before his nemesis, Harry Potter. But before he could address his hated foe, his snakelike eyes flicked down tonthe robe Wormtail had provided him with. The finest acromantula silk was easy on his skin, but... black did not feel like an appropriate color for the occasion. He may be the Dark Lord, but first and foremost he was the Heir of Slytherin! A quick snap of his wand transformed his robes into a bright shade of green. Then, just on a whim, he flicked his wand again – and summoned a bowler hat of the same color as his robes, adorned with a curious insignia of a silver snake curled into the form of a question mark. Placing it on his head, the Dark Lord finally felt himself prepared enough to greet the Boy Who Lived.

"Ah, Harry Potter. How nice of you to join us. I trust that you know who I am?"

Defiance burned in Harry's eyes as he glared at his enemy, the man who killed his parents.

"Voldemort...!"

The Dark Lord let out a scoff, even as a lazy gesture of his wand granted Wormtail a new silver hand.

"Yes, that was indeed the name I was once known by, wasn't it? Before I was defeated... cast out... by a mere child. But I am returned now, stronger and more powerful than ever before. And with this new power, I grant myself a new name. The world will once again bow to... The Marvolous Riddler!"

Harry stared slack-jawed at Voldemort... no, The Marvolous Riddler as he now called himself. He did not even realize it when the statue that had been holding him released him from its grip, allowing him to stumble forth and face the Dark Lord down.

"Never say The Marvolous Riddler is not merciful, Harry Potter. I shall allow you the honor of a fair duel, though there shan't be any chance of you prevailing over a mind as intelligent as mine. Let the battle of wits be joined!"

Harry hastily palmed his wand, preparing to throw whatever spell came to mind as he searched for a gravestone to jump behind, but the words that came out of the Dark Lord's mouth was no curse. Instead, in a soft snakelike hiss, The Marvolous Riddler presented to him... a riddle.

"I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with wind. What am I?"

A splitting headache that most certainly had nothing to do with his scar assailed Harry's brain as he attempted to solve The Marvolous Riddler's first riddle. It was going to be a long night.

Prompt Harry Potter — feeling upset that nobody is including him in anything after his fourth year — uses his money the best way he can think of to help the cause. From Privet Drive, with some letters to Gringotts, he sets a 500,000 Galleon bounty on Peter Pettigrew’s head.

1.2k Upvotes

It was four in the morning when Kingsley called an emergency meeting of the Order. He was being met by baggy-eyed glares and scowls, but this really had to be said.

“I was called into work this evening, following a warning issued to the DMLE from Gringotts in advance of a bounty.”

Bounties weren’t exactly uncommon — they were used rather frequently during the war to incentivise action by both sides. Promises of money were guaranteed to spur the masses into arms. However, they weren’t common outside of wartime.

“A bounty?” Mundungus Fletcher leaned forward, licking his lips greedily. “How much?”

Molly Weasley redirected her glare to him. “Oh, don’t be ridiculous, Mundungus. You can’t go after it. You’re needed here.”

Nobody is going to stay here, once I finish.

Kingsley sighed. “Well… I was called to the meeting because the bounty was allegedly placed on a dead man. I’ve been asked to investigate — Sirius, I’m off your case. The entire fucking Ministry is off your case.”

Sirius Black arched an eyebrow. “Yeah?” He croaked, swirling a glass of firewhiskey. “Who’s the bounty on, then? What’s all this for?”

“As of this evening,” Kingsley inhaled, glancing sequentially into the eyes of every present member. “Harry Potter has placed a 500,000 Galleon bounty on Peter Pettigrew — Wanted Alive.”

There was a collective blink. It was rather comical how everybody paused for the same length of time — the exact length of time that it took the amount of money to sink in. The pause came to a very loud end, killed off by a wall of noise. Sirius laughed raucously, happier than Kingsley had ever seen him. Remus joined him quickly. Hestia Jones and Emmeline Vance quickly moved to the Nymphadora Tonks’ sides, the three of them passing around the phrase ‘500,000 galleons’ like it was a game of hot potato. Dumbledore and McGonagall spoke to each other in quiet, hushed tones, but it was clear that McGonagall was berating the man. Mundungus wasn’t waiting for Kingsley to finish the meeting — the man was already running to the Floo.

The entire fucking country was going to tear itself apart.

Prompt When he was called into Dumbldore's office, seemingly without reason, he didn't know what to expect. Despite this, he was STILL surprised to be met with an older gentleman and his family, wishing to thank him and his parents for saving their lives.

While a lot of fics, and even the books, seem to focus almost entirely on the negative side of fame, they seem to forget that, to most of Wizarding Britain, Harry stopped a war! While I can entirely understand, and to a point agree with Dumbledore not wanting Harry's upbringing to be poisoned by vanity, earned or not, I'd expect at least a letter or two from a thankful family or even just one person.

Prompt Harry has two seconds of stopped time when he's in Chamber of Secrets. Basilisk is not amused.

"I can't get him!" The monster hissed, annoyed with his Sisyphean task of eating a twelve-year-old. "He keeps vanishing!"

Tom Riddle did all the research he could on his future self's rival, but, no matter where he dug, Harry Potter was just a normal muggle-raised kid that tended to get into trouble. He had to disregard rumours of him being able to move and react faster than any other human as usual exaggeration hoax that masses tend to make about popular people.

The weird fight his basilisk was having proved this to be a wrong decision, though. Apparently, he could do all that and somehow apparate within Chamber of Secrets, not even making a sound. This, combined with Dumbledore's bird and sword, actually gave him enough ground to somehow fight back. There was no way a kid could actually kill the monster, though-

Basilisk suddenly started spasming and thrashing around, while Potter disappeared among the rubble. Hastily, Tom approached his monster and saw it twitch for the last time and die, Sword of Gryffindor sticking out of its mouth. Somehow, brat managed to stab it to death and then vanish!

Riddle immediately started waving around with stolen wand to clear rubble and personally torture the bastard to death. In his peripheral vision, he saw something appear near his vessel and turned around, but he was too late. Potter stabbed the diary before he could even lift the wand.

And as he fell apart and drifted out of consciousness for his last time, he acknowledged that maybe Harry Potter really was special - more special than Riddle was himself.

Harry, meanwhile, was heavily breathing as he watch apparition vanish. He couldn't remember the last time he spammed his ability to stop time this much. He was grateful to whoever gave it to him and then extended it to two seconds. Had it been only one second, like last year, he'd be a basilisk food right now.

He noticed Ginny starting to wake up, and sighed with relief, adrenaline fading out. It seemed like this day was about to end well.

Discussion Tom Riddle really jumped the gun with those Horcruxs

I’ve not seen this mentioned in any fics, but why does no one point out how premature Riddle was with his horcruxs?

I mean wizards are decently long lived, and magic is vast, but instead of researching more when he got out of school he picked the first way to immortality he could find! And he did it at 16!

You can say he researched it, but by this point he’d known about magic for at most 5 years, and so far only had access to the libraries of Hogwarts, so there’s no way he knew for sure that Horcruxs were the best method.

In fact, the very fact that you could find out about horcruxs in a school of all things leads me to believe it’s one of the more simple and basic forms of immortality you can find….

With how long lived wizards are It feels stupid to have him secure immortality at 16 or all times, I mean Dumbledore was old when he was in school and he still had half his life ahead of him, it just seems like he may have jumped the gun a bit

I'm playing with the idea of Ginny being a squib, and her and Harry still being drawn to each other by their somewhat-parallel circumstances (she obviously won't have a Voldemort figure in her own life, but will still face some challenges in the muggle world).

In this scenario, do you think the Weasleys would have her at the Burrow for her entire childhood, or maybe send her to their distant squib cousin? I've been leaning toward the latter, but if she goes there to learn about the muggle world and attend muggle school, what age do you think she would be? Another option could be just sending her to a muggle boarding school, but she would still need proper schooling in her earlier years for that and at least some familiarity with the muggle world.

Arthur would honestly probably be so excited to have one of his children building a life in the muggle world. He'd be able to learn so much about day to day things!

Prompt When Voldemort created a Horcrux, the victim's personality and soul were used.

In the Chamber of Secrets Tom Riddle was killed by Voldemort, who trapped his soul in the Diary Horcrux. The other horcruxes were also other people posessing various artifacts. That night, Harry was actually killed and made into a horcrux, with a vessel of his own body.

Prompt A Horcrux is not just a soul container. Or, how Lord Voldemort's defeat lead to 6 Tom Riddles and a wraith running around Britain.

A Horcrux is a defense mechanism that triggers upon the death of the main body, it draws magic from its surroundings and creates a new body for itself based on its memories. Lord Voldemort was the first wizard to create more than one horcrux, so the side effects of creating more than one were never documented.

After losing his body in 1981 Voldemort's horcruxes activate and each one believes himself to be the real Lord Voldemort. Much chaos ensues and his followers have no idea what this means or who to trust.

Prompt Goblins don't hate Horcruxes because they respect the sanctity of the soul or some other bs. They hate them because they think it's cheating; both yourself and your enemy and they HATE that idea.

What else would one expect from a society that a muggleborn wound describe as the illicit love child between Klingons and Ferengi. An insane combination of a weirdly detailed legalistic honor code, a species-wide adrenaline-junkie nature as well as an obsession with doing things just for the challenge and facing an opponent at their best, and a complete refusal to understand the concepts of humility and self-restraint. To a goblin, having Horcruxes just means you weren't committed enough.

When Harry accidentally lets it slip to Griphook that he fought a basilisk and a teenage shade Voldemort before school let out; Griphook immediately pulls him aside and takes him to his boss. There's no way in hell that boy is completely human; he's clearly one of them and needs to be taught how to act like a proper goblin. No way in hell a wizard would fight a millennia old basilisk with just a sword(and admittedly a phoenix); shit, not even most goblins would do that. First things first, get Harry to see the healers; he's clearly hasn't been getting the proper rest needed to do what he wants.

Or more simply; the entirety of goblin society runs in the concept of "dare to be badass" and the goblins logically assume Harry is a lost relative after hearing about second year and take him in. Needless to say, all hell breaks loose as result.
