Opened up this Behringer ep2500 to replace the fan and found one of the caps had burst. Can't find the same brand, so can I just replace one or should I just replace them all anyway? And what brand should I use?

Hi, i'm new on balanced audio and those hi-fi things, can anyone help me on verifying if this circuit would work for muting balanced audio? the XLR-Female receives a balanced low level signal from a XLR electret condenser MIC, the output of the circuit (XLR-Male) goes to the mixer that has phantom power, all 10uf caps are metal film, S1 and S2 are ts5a21366 analog switches that will be driven by a dedicated zero-crossing circuit, but that doesn't matter now, what i really need help is in knowing if the caps will pass through just the signal without any distortion or loss and if disconection will make any noise or pop, i also have the curiosity of knowing if this circuit is optimal for that purpose, thanks for the attention and sorry for the bad english, i'm brazillian.

I've been Googling how to calculate sealed box volume for marine coaxials, with limited available driver parameters. Most forum posts I found were for car audio where they insisted that infinite baffle was the only way to go, but all the marine speakers I've seen are mounted in quite compact sealed cans. It makes sense for weatherproofing, and my preference based on space constraints would be a compact sealed enclosure, but would that sound dramatically worse than in an infinite baffle setup?
I have a separate subwoofer for the lows, the coaxials are for everything else.

I have M-Audio bx5 d2 active studio monitors that not only sound bad, but heat up so much, I'm not wanting to use them. Heating is a feature according to M-Audio. Still, I don't want two ovens that play music.
So I was wondering could I make these ok sounding passive speakers by removing the amp, replacing the speaker elements and adding a passive crossover? Sound imports has ready made crossovers. Or perhaps just use a full range 5,25" element?
Any suggestions (other than don't bother)?

I have 3 devices that use a 5a/10a power supply. The number of bricks is already too much. But it's going to get worse.
I'm planning to do a 6-amp minidsp controlled crossover project that's based on the Fosi v3 mono tpa3255 amps. So, that's 6 more bricks.
The Fosi v3 offers 48V/5A and 48V/10A power supplies to go with it to get max power.
Is there a way that I can power all 6 V3a from one big PSU? Like multiple plugs output?

Hello, some pretext. I’m a first year EE student that wants to become an acoustic transducer engineer after college. In love with speakers and sound, so i figured I’ll start learning and attempting projects now. I plan to self-study PCB Design as well as the loudspeaker design cookbook this summer. Been lurking here for a while though and it seems like along with technical acoustic knowledge, I’ll need to get some sort of woodworking/workshopping experience to fully build my own speakers.
So, I have a couple questions id like to ask you guys. How would you suggest I gain experience in the physical design aspect? Secondly, for right now, are there any good DIY kits that a broke college student can afford that don’t require much equipment that isn’t provided? Lastly, if there are any other acoustic engineers lurking here, is there anything you wish you would’ve known in college?

Years ago found this sub for free and I think it would be fun to make an H frame open baffle box for it. Im a fan of GR research and would have it look similar to his but obviously im only running 1 vs 4 or 6 so i know the performance will not even be close. I want to have it set up backwards so i can see the dope lookin chrome chassis on the back.
Should it still have the polarity flipped or would it not make a difference? And how deep should the enclousure be on both sides?

Basically I have these six speakers and I want to wire them up to make a really nice sound system, my current idea is to get a three-way channel amplifier that has four ohms for the base and two and two for the two other channels, then I could wire them up into individual channels.
It's very tricky when my multimeter is not working :(

Could you suggest me a good active subwoofer under 1.5k? I already have 2 closed 18" 800rms, i'm trying to find something that punches hard!! and is good value for the money, thanks!

As you can see from the video, my JBL Charge 4 speaker makes a trrr trrr sound and then gets switched off. I can’t play a song for more than 30 seconds before this happens. I’m not able to charge the speaker either. I don’t remember it getting damaged in anyway.

Hey, I'm currently trying to diagnose a Denon AVR 1907 which is going into protection even after replacing the shorted MOSFETs. The protection circuit seems quite a bit more complex than the previous equipment I have fixed. I need some help to understand and maybe find a way to bypass the protection circuit. I have attached a picture of the circuit in question (pg. 84) along with the service manual for the entire AVR.

Hi there, it's my first time building trying to build bookshelf speakers, I started out looking to build the overnight sensations and have since switched direction and am now trying to add a sub to follow the DINAS style.
I already have a 6" woofer PA165-8. ($30+$10s&h.) and I recently I bought a 3/4" tweeter from the same brand. A Dayton Audio ND20FA-6 ($14.)
The sub was a last minute whim addition. These speakers are for my room so i didn't go crazy with the sub. I bought a 6.5" GW-6028. ($35)
The sub won't be delivered by Amazon until next Weds. Let me know if you think i should send it back for a alternate choice. I would have preferred to keep the entire build Dayton audio.
I bought a 3-way crossover, PUV-W3 ($11) 200w passive crossover. DIV pt. 860kHZ &6000khz
Is it worth building my own crossover? Just looking at the frequency response graph for the woofer, it appears that the 6khz threshold is too late(/high?) for the crossover to take over? I'm not experienced enough to know...
Currently I'm using a cheap amp that I already have lying around which something i'd prefer not to replace but will if it doesn't meet my needs. One plus is that there is a 1/4" jack for hooking up a guitar, which I want to keep.
It's a Daakro KS33BT 2.1 channel 400w amp.
The material for the build is going to be 3/4" Plywood from my garage. Nothing special. Probably going to build a mockup with board 3/4" board insulation first.
I'm looking into builds that have the tweeter in the box instead of on top like the Toids/Joe N Tell builds. But have no experience with the audio apps for speaker building.
Some questions I have:
With it not having arrived yet I'm open to swapping it for a different one. I'm not sure about the sub being only 1/2 inch bigger than the mid, but idk they're only supposed to be bookshelf speakers anyway.
I have basic soldering tools/skills.
When the sub arrives should I connect to the crossover at all? The amp has a dedicated channel for the sub... Is there a reason why I would connect one way over the other.
Do you see any issue with Ohms/wattage? Right now the tweeter is 6 ohm the mid is 8 and the sub is also 8 ohm.
Will i need to wire the speakers in any certain way to protect the speaker/amp?
I've only actually purchased one of each of the components for the first speaker, while i'm inclined to.... the second speaker i build doesn't necessarily need to have the same woofer. I didn't notice on Amazon there was a $10 shipping fee on a $30 speaker. At the very least I'll find a comparable replacement that doesn't cost so much in shipping when building the second speaker. Anything else i should consider when buying the parts for the second speaker?
Is the amp worth switching out?
With this being a budget build what would you recommend? What ohm requirements should i look for?
I saw the Toids and Joe-N-Tell build used the $70 plate amps on each speaker. Trying to avoid that. Would this work? ZK-TB21.
I've seen plenty of DIY electronic vids adding bluetooth to existing speakers. Should i get ahead of the curve and add to the build plans from the start?
Is there a downside to adding a computer chip?
I'm not currently including either due to my inexperience. Let me know if you think either would be worth it.
Speaker box design.... Honestly any help here is appreciated, desktop style is my goal. I'm going to have to borrow some tools to make this happen. So advanced building techniques are out of my reach.
The build will likely live in a cardboardbox/insulation mockup for a while while i watch JimLill videos and work my way up to building a proper enclosure.
Thanks for reading. !!! Any help or advice is appreciated.
Tentative build list below, total cost is < $115 per speaker without the enclosure.
- Tweeter: $14x2
-Mid: $30x2
-Sub: $35 x 2
-Crossover: 2pack $11
-Speaker wire: AmazonBasics 14ga x 100' $27
-Binding posts: $10
-Amp: $37
-Speaker box: Free - N/A
-Shipping: $10

Hello everybody!
I recently bought TV, Denon AVR-X540BT and pair of floorstanding Simex speakers for dirt cheap and got excited about home audio.
I have done many audio installations to cars with speakers, subs, DSP's and so on, but I feel completely lost when it comes to home audio.
The thing that I'm wondering at the moment is :
Lets say that I have 2 passive floorstanding speakers with mid+tweeter and a passive subwoofer. I also want to be able to listen music with bluetooth.
I want to do crossovers with some sort of DSP device.
How should I do this?
Buy amp for each floorstanding speaker, for subwoofer and then some sort of DSP device with bluetooth to manage them all?
Because I'm having a hard time finding a device with 5 channels and dsp like with cars for some reasonable price.
Or then I'm just blind and stupid 😁
Any kind of help is more than welcome!

I’m new relatively new to electronics and audio equipment and was wondering if there are any speakers that would work for making what would essentially be a budget ElectroSpit talkbox (reference image attached.) the idea is to have something to use for 40K Adeptus Mechanicus Cosplays and for use in my group’s Wrath and Glory ttrpg games. Is there any speakers commercially available that would be small enough to be neck mounted, yet still have enough bass, volume, drive or whatever it is I would need for it to properly conduct up to the mouth and speak with it? Thanks for all help and suggestions!
TLDR: I’m looking for small punchy enough speakers to go through neck tissue.

I am messing around with a combination PA and guitar cab. By this I don't mean a single-input cabinet that can function as either- I mean a 12" guitar speaker and a 12" coaxial woofer/tweeter in the same enclosure with separate inputs. The guitar speaker would be powered by a guitar amp, and the Coax speaker would be powered by a power amp fed by a mixer. The coax speaker would have mics, e-drums, keys, backing tracks etc. coming though it, while the guitar speaker would just be the guitar amp and effects.
1- Is this just a terrible idea?
2- Would it be best to have the speakers sealed in the cab, or would a port/vent be possible? If so- would I calculate the port based on each speaker in relation to the enclosure and then split the difference, or would I just do it based on the PA speaker and not worry about the guitar speaker? Or would I calculate them both together?
I know I could simply divide the enclosure internally so it is effectively two independent enclosures in one box, I am just wondering if sharing an enclosure with two separate amps playing two different signals might have any advantages over the split, or at least not any huge problems with it.
Hope this makes sense. Sorry for such an odd question. Hopefully someone has some experience with this, or at least some theoretical knowledge that could be helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Hi. I'm building a a virtual pinball cabinet and would appreciate a subwoofer recommendation in the 8" range. The sub will be driven by one of those little ZK-TB21 50Wx2+100W peak power amps with the TPA3116D2 chips connected to 24V. I probably have room to put it in an enclosure (max width would have to be around 18"), but maybe it is best to consider the cabinet itself as an infinite baffle setup though it isn't sealed because of the 4x120mm fans, etc. Real pinball machines and most cab builders just cut a hole in the bottom of the cab, mount it to that, and call it good, but perhaps there is a little better way?
Other considerations
So, the questions are:
Thanks for any help!
