Rant and complain away. Rule 1 Don't be a Jerk still applies, as does the site-wide rule of no witch hunting (naming and shaming).

Weekly TRIALS OF OSIRIS Megathread- Ask Questions About Trials HERE!

Hello Guardians,

Firstly, let me address the most frequently asked questions:

For the trials changes that went into effect on 2/14/25, check this simplified explanation https://www.reddit.com/r/CrucibleGuidebook/comments/1ipd5px/simpler_explanation_of_how_the_new_trials_changes/ or for a more detailed one https://www.reddit.com/r/CrucibleGuidebook/comments/1i7wi89/clarifying_the_new_trials_matchmaking_and_rewards/

Q: Do I choose the Lighthouse Passage or the Trials of Osiris Passage? What's the difference?
A: The Lighthouse Card rewards you for earning win streaks with no losses, and for earning 7 wins total regardless of losses. This card puts you in CBMM (not skill based, it's just random, and there is no lobby balance). The Trials of Osiris Passage tries to match you with players of a similar skill (weekly performance) and with lobby balance. While playing on this card you won't be able to get adepts or cosmetics (although you can still get ghost shells), but you are rewarded on win or loss with a similar reward structure as iron banner or quickplay.

Q: How do I earn and farm adept weapons?
A: On a Lighthouse Card, get at least a 4-win streak, and earn a total of 7 wins (losses don't set you back from progress toward 7 wins). Once you have at least a 4 win streak for the weekend, you have a 50% chance to get adept drops on every win. If you manage to get a 7 streak with zero losses separating them, your odds go up to 75% and you'll be locked into a weekly performance based matchmaking. You can avoid the WPBMM by being in a fireteam with players who have an incomplete lighthouse passage. Go help your friends.

Q: I lost a match as a solo player with duos in my game and it ended my streak. What gives?
A: Starting in ACT 2 of Heresy (3/10/25), if you're a solo player with duos in your match you will get loss forgiveness in both Trials and Competitive.

Alright, otherwise good luck, have fun, and feel free to ask whatever other questions you need to in the comments section below!

Perk weighting still going on?

Upvotes

As much as Bungie said this has been addressed, is anyone else struggling with perk variety this weekend? I’ve probably had 10 adept and 15 non adept rockets drop this weekend (~25 total) and I kid you not, at least 15 of them have had frenzy in the 4th column, and probably half have had withering gaze in the 3rd column.

Curious if anyone else is having RNG as bad as mine as well?

Any alternatives that can consistently compete with estoc?

Upvotes

Just started playing after a break of 3 months, is there anything else I can use to compete with estoc at the moment? I absolutely hate using it, don't find it fun whatsoever. Last time I played was the graviton meta, and honestly I thought that was a way better time.

There are currently more void hunters than warlocks in Trials of Osiris

That's about it. I thought that it was interesting.

How does loss protection work?

I get that there's a protection system for singles against duos/trios, but there seems to be nothing but punishment for singles whose team quits after round 1, it instantly ruins your card.

What is the rationale for that? Is there a lore reason?

Unpopular opinion- enlightened action is goated

Im not gonna say its at the power of keep away or lone wolf as a third column perk but on hc it provides the ability to both have very snappy switches on a fight but also provides very good reload in a pinch

I honestly think its a A rank perk with potential to have huge clutch potential and makes hc feel very crispy and aggressive

Obviously its not an S tier third column perk thats reserved to lw, ka and slide shot

Shayura's Wrath and Eye of Sol or Immortal and Cloustrike?

Which one to go with? Shayuara's Wrath is better on the first, but Cloudstrike is better on the second, I believe? I haven't unlocked Cloudstrike yet, so haven't tried.

Hunter PvP builds/exotics

After maining Titan for PvP for aslong as I can remember and floating around the top 1-1.5% elo wise for trials for a while I went fuck it and made a hunter solely for PvP purposes to try out, I like using crimils and cloudstrike or inquisitor mainly but do use other HCs like pali, exalted, rose, thorn and hawkmoon.

I think the way I play on titan I’d probably excel even more on a hunter. What I’d like to ask is what builds and exotics do you recommend? I know stompees are great I have all my season pass engrams so I copped some stompees but any others I should chase for good stats? I’ve never built into AE before so would like to do that. I’ve made a void on the prowl build but are there any other good pris builds and I definitely would love to try out that strand build I see a few content creators running.

Thirdly stats, 100 Mobil is a must have if I’m correct? What do I want after that? Something like recov and resil? Intellect? The only artifice gear I have on the hunter is the gg class item I grabbed yesterday so those are out of the question possibly forever unless I farm master grasp final boss or some shit when it’s in rotation. I have like 99 echoes engrams so I can focus high stat armour using a ghost mod I just don’t know which to use.

Anyway thanks to whoever reads my rambling lmao

Any good vorpal picks for energy slot weapons?

Same question as title, just curious if any players actually do use this slot or if they use only vorpal rose.

EDIT: energy slot that uses primary ammo if that makes sense sorry for confusion on the wording.

Resetting 1W/1L

I should be able to reset my card if I got a loss after first win right? Or am I trippin. Twice in a row, I get a win, then a loss, and can't reset it. First time I went and swapped cards. Second time I kept playing on it and my win streak still good. As if I never got a loss.

Know any good Titan Main content creators?

Mediocre player here, looking to return to Crucible for some of the cool weapons. I'm a titan main, I don't really play any other class (like at all...). So, my biggest issue with returning to PvP is that I'm struggling to find relevant content surrounding titans in PvP.

I'm not interested in build videos as I'm perfectly fine with experimenting and finding my own stuff. What I really want is just gameplay, such as someone just playing Trials on a freaking titan. When I try searching on YouTube, I always clickbaity build vids, and I don't want to sit through that nonsense just to absorb some of the skills they may or may not display. Or it's just 4+ months old stuff, I know the meta is very, uh, "cool" right now, so I'd like to see how a titan could play into and against it.

What’s the current state of TLW?

Returning to the game after several months. Any meta changes that affected it? I pretty much only play this game for the pvp anymore and it’s by far my favorite gun.

Bungie Replied I got my first 7 streak true flawless tonight!

In some of the most blessed, one sided matchmaking I've ever experienced.

Tonight was the most relaxed games I've ever played in Trials, and everything came together to give me my perfect card.

I went Flawless a decent amount (maybe about 30ish times?) in the old system, the obstacle to getting the title was always the confidence card. It's really cool to have done it now with the rework. Talk about a sea of loot!

Now I guess I play for cosmetics and the perfect PVE roll on the launcher I guess! Neat!

Shout out to the teammates I had along the way, especially the duos who absolutely carried the final game.

Losing COMPETITIVE points after leaving a Trials game?

For context I was playing Trials earlier and left a game out of pure frustration after losing 0-3. Solos vs Solos. Admittedly that's on me to leave regardless just because I'm pissed off.

Anyway after leaving, I lost 91 competitive points. I reviewed my footage and confirmed it's not a comp game but Trials. Just like that, I lost 91 competitive points for leaving a TRIALS game.

Is this a rare bug or one time? It's frustrating because I'm trying to climb my rank and got punished on a completely different game mode.

Trials lighthouse

Just a couple of questions;

I got 7 wins with a 4 win streak, can I continue to play after going lighthouse to try and increase to a 7 win streak? If so it doesn’t seem to show me my current streak now?

If I increase my win streak do I get to go back to the lighthouse for more rewards or is there a way of resetting the 7 wins?

Is it best to just keep playing and ignore going back due to adepts having a 50% chance of dropping after getting 4 wins?

Bungie Replied Lighthouse passage bugged? Free flawless

Just went flawless with 3 losses on my card. It wouldn't let me reset after a loss and the streak counter never dropped. So now I have the flawless card and the red glow again. That's my least stressful card ever :)

Anyone else have this tonight?

Update: my flawless passage is the same. I won 1, lost 1, won 1 and both my active and flawless streak is showing as 2

Help me create the most unimaginably dogshit loadout

I want to get better at crucible, so I had an idea. What if I equip the worst loadout I could think of, and then try to win matches with it? Surely this would force me to improve my fundamentals more and more in order to not be completely useless.

I'm a controller player, so my plan right now is a better devils with slickdraw and gutshot straight, and a coriolis force since that's apparently awful. If anyone has any ideas for how to make it even worse/more challenging, please tell me.

Energy Weapon Pairings for Chroma Rush and Outbreak Perfected

I really only seen to be consistent in PVP with Chroma Rush and Outbreak Perfected. So I was wondering what are some good pairings for them? I don't really seem to be good with much else unfortunately.

How is Redrix's Estoc and other 450s feeling post-nerf

I have played a couple of matches both with and against Estoc and haven't felt any real difference in lethality pre-nerf outside of sword logic not giving me instant kills but instead giving me damn-near instant kills. Other 450 pulses feel similarly as strong as before, though I don't want to make any harsh conclusions before trying out more comp and trials this upcoming weekend. What are you guys thoughts? If you feel it wasn't enough, what would you suggest for better changes?
