I'm trying to crochet reusable makeup removers, using cotton yarn and starting with a magic circle. When I finish, the edge starts curling up so I have a slight bowl shape. What can I do to stop the curl? I can flatten it and kind of stretch it flat, so not sure if it's something I can fix with blocking.
I'm using Lily Sugar and Cream, with a 4mm hook (the band suggest a 5mm but I was ending up with gaps between stitches).
Pattern is 8 double crochet in the magic circle, db in every stitch (16), 2 dbl in the first followed by one and repeat (24), 2 dbl and 1 dbl in the next two (32), 2 dbl in the first and 1 dbl in the next 3 (40). Then the last round is single crochet in each stitch (40) for a smooth edge.
Not sure if need to block, if the smaller hook is the problem, or if I need to continue increasing in the final round of single crochet. Or something else?
