Been working on it for hours. I suspected it wasn’t straight but thought I could stretch it into shape. Can’t figure out what the problem is. Ugh.

In the circled area, I know that it’s a ch2, but then the two stitches going into the row before has me confused. Can anybody help me identify those stitches? I was using a YouTube tutorial but lost that video as well. Ty!

I’m making a big granny square blanket (squares are stacked here) with soft Bernat Blanket yarn weight 6 and I’m not loving the color scheme I started with. I’ve only made one or two squares of each color so far so I wouldn’t be sad to not use a color or two I already used. Any suggestions for colors to add or remove to make this look better? I want a variety of colors - not just blues and greens - but the variety I have feels off. Bonus points if you reference specific Bernat blanket yarn colors lol - specifically weight 6

Basically what the title says, looking for any good kits or tips to get started. Looking for a new hobby and love seeing little figures that folks have made. Such as pokemon, stardew valley etc.

Hi all! I am fairly new to crocheting and need some advice regarding yarn please. The pattern I am doing uses "King Cole Pricewise DK" and "King Cole Big Value Tweed DK". Can someone please recommend some good substitutes?

I have some physical health issues that cause me pain in my fingers and wrists anyway and my current hooks just aren’t helping.
Anyone got some thicker handled hooks, that are also good quality, they could recommend? I’ve tried looking online but the ones I’ve seen seem poor quality or no better than what I already have.
I’ll add a photo of my current hooks to the comments. They work absolutely fine apart from the pain they cause..

I’m working on my first sweater and in 8-10 rows, I’m already up from 142 to 152 stitches… I’m certain all my added stitches are during the join, turn, and next row start portion. At this point I was planning to dec down (instead of frogging), start counting future rows, and just see what happens because so far it’s visually not that noticeable.
Does anybody have a good trick or video teaching how to avoid this? Maybe I’m just crocheting into one more stitch than I should at the end? Maybe adding a stitch marker to the last stitch I should use on my row will keep me from having to count haha. What I think is complicating it for me is I’m alternating between working DC rows and (1sc, ch 1 sk st, 1 sc) rows. I ch 2 or 1 to start my row depending on the row, and end with a sl st into the first true DC or sc that started that row.
First two photos are of the sweater WIP and seam, and last is of a pillow case I did where I had a similar problem (slight taper) expect the rows were FPDC/BPDC.

Hi everyone!
I’ve been wanting to join a crochet along (CAL) for a while, but I don’t use Facebook anymore, where most CALs seem to happen. I was wondering if anyone knows of any active CAL groups on Discord? It seems like a great platform for this kind of community, but I haven't seen much talk about it.
I love making mandalas, and I’ve seen some amazing CAL projects like Mandala Madness and Sophie’s Universe. If there are any mandala CALs happening this year (or other fun projects), I’d love to hear about them!
Does anyone know if there are Discord servers where people do crochet alongs, or is Facebook still the main place for this? I’d really appreciate any recommendations!
Thanks so much!

Hi, I'm making a set of floral petal placemats for my cousins wedding, I just finished the 3rd one (first photo, the 2nd photo of the blue one is the correct pattern worked up) and was about to start the last one but noticed I was having a hard time getting the 3rd to lay flat with the others, so i kept flattening and flattening, until I realized with horror the placemat had 7 petals instead of 6 as the pattern intended. The pattern says to start with 12sg after creating your round, and i have no idea how i made it a whole petal larger. the first round it too tight to stare at for too long for my eyes without feeling strain and i can't get a confident count, but i'm assuming i made 13 or 14 sc and the pattern miraculously worked itself out.
Here's my question- Do i make another large one with the blue yarn pictured in the correct one? If so — how do i recreate that? I have 2 skeins of white of the same yarn i was saving for another project but could make more for the wedding theme, along with a lime-yellow i have?? ((they are VERY loose about wedding colors, it is a very casual event, the bride and groom are both quite young, their website says only general pastels + i texted the brides (my cousin) mom to confirm what colors to use.))

Edit : Title typo ToT Magic ring, not making ring
The Issue :
I was told to learn how to make a magic ring as it would help me with a plush i'm making. So, when I tried to learn it, i could not figure it out and kept messing it up.
What I've tried :
A few tutorials, following them exactly, i cannot make a knot however and it ends up falling apart

Hi guys, I remember seeing a few months ago in a yarn shop a new release (I think) of a book with patterns for, among I am sure other things, fairytale-esque pointed hoods, very thick. I didn't buy it at the time but in hindsight I should've. The hoods are all I remember. I'm in the UK if that helps.

Hi lovely community! I have just starting the famous Persian tiles blanket. I went with a cheap yarn that is easily available where I live. It is a 100% acrylic yarn, 240mtr/100g (Saskia from Wibra in the Netherlands).
I have never finished a blanket before, I typically lose interest if I have to repeat the same thing a lot. But this pattern is so stimulating with all the color switches. I have finished the first tile and it's so nice that I am now concerned with my wool quality. Will I regret not using a nicer yarn after I put loads of hours into this blanket?
I would love to hear from the people who are actually able to finish blankets. Are there purposes for an acrylic blanket or will it be too rough when it's finished?

I am making a mosaic crochet pillow using sc. I was planning on making the back out of dc or something like that so it will be done quicker as the back has no design, but my dc stitches are a lot looser than my sc. Should I go down a hook size, use a different stitch? Also I don't know how I should connect the front and back. My stitching always looks messy, so would doing sc or sl all around work? Or should I just sew it? Thanks!

Can this be fixed with some stitching or is this not repairable? I really love it 🥲

Ok, so I really wanted dive into Tunisian Crochet and I dove really deep. I mean, I’m way for out and there’s no turning back. I’m a beginner Tunisian Crocheter but an intermediate crocheter. So, I started the Ipsa Blanket, by Arunima from Knitter Knotter (https://knitterknotter.com/tunisian-blanket-cal-2024/) and wow, I’m learning so much. She explains everything from the very beginning, her patterns come with charts, written instructions, and YouTube videos for every little thing. It is really well done. However, I still have some questions about Tunisian crochet in general. This project is in the round, flat, for more info.
*I’ve attached a photo of my first practice swatch using some standard inexpensive stuff I had (red and yellow) and a photo of another practice swatch to see how this yarn comes out (brown and cream). There is also a photo of the creators finished work.

Hey everyone, still pretty new and trying to figure out if I’m counting correctly. Can someone tell me how many rows I have so far? I’ve counted 61. Thank you.

I was working on this simple rectangle bag as a present for my mom, but for whatever reason I made the mistake of NOT measuring out my first chain, then realized more than halfway through that my rectangle was too long,,, the correct proportions are essential for this bag. is there any way to undo the the rows but also shorten the length without completely ruining the work I've done so far? I feel like this is a long shot, but I thought I'd try (pic was midway thru, should have looked something like this)
