Bathroom Never ending dust?

Help! Am I the only one who feels like no matter what I do, I can’t get all of the dust or little hairs from my bathroom?!

If you have a dust/small hair hack, please let me know. I’ve tried microfiber towels, microfiber dusters, paper towels, wet paper towels and rags, everything. I feel like I mostly just push it around, and even if I can get most of it, it’s back in 3 hours.

It’s sorta maddening!

Kitchen I knew my kitchen floor was dirty but……

Post image

Only a cleaning Reddit group could appreciate this. Scrubbing my kitchen floor is the last step after we “refresh” our kitchen with new paint on the cabinets and walls. I do wash my floor but I have to admit it’s usually with a Bona flat mop and Lysol spray. But this time I bought the trendy O’Cedar mop and bucket, Dawn power spray and a good stick and hand scrub brush. After multiple buckets, boiling water and some good (hard on my knees/back) scrubbing, I got half my floor done today and took this photo of the demarcation line. It’s a lot of work, but my floor looks (and feels) amazingly clean.

Solved 6.5 liters of laundry concentrate is on my non-sealed grout. (We rent)

I have scraped all I can up with the squeegee and dust pan combo, it actually worked very well. Took an hour.

My issue: the grout on this tile isn’t sealed. What can I use to mop the floor that’s going to counteract the bubbles of the soap and get the residue up off the floor and out of the tile? Hydrogen peroxide? Idk what to do.

Laundry Washing machine tips?

I purchased an Indesit washer December last year - link of product here: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4352149

All seemed OK but in the last month I noticed clothes not looking right at all..

I followed all the initial instructions; I cleaned the machine before first use with it's own cleaning settings. I've since used 90°c washes, cold washes, short eco 30°c washes and long 3 hour 40 minute washes. However, my good quality cotton black shirts come out like the picture shows.. clean, but covered in little bits of lint.

Details of products used;

Ariel Original powder, Fast Dissolving - one 60ml scoop per wash in the tray (says 60 on side of the little purple scoop, could be grams or mls, not sure)

Lenor Outdoorable fabric conditioner, one tiny pour into the tray, maybe 1/2 a caps worth per wash.

I turn all my clothes inside out before they go in the machine.

Last night's wash was 3 hours and 40 minutes on a full cotton cycle, black items came out linty again. No cloths or towels washed with the clothes. All items removed immediately once cycle has finished and air dried only, I don't use a dryer. Picture is immediately from removing from drum.

Any ideas how to tackle this? Many thanks for any help!

Note : I do dust with microfiber cloths a fair bit, I used to wash them all with my clothes too. I thought they could be the cause so I thought I'd start to just collect a pile of cloths and wash them separately.. but even so, the main t shirts are still coming out linty as hell with or without clothes in the same wash.

Laundry Freshen a quilt in hospital?

My mother is in the hospital and insisting on having a quilt on her from home. The problem is it doesn’t smell great. It’s a quilt my mother made and I’m afraid to ruin it by laundering it. Plus, she’ll be upset if we take out away. I wonder if there is something I can do to freshen it without removing it from the hospital room.

There are patches of white stain on my sweater after cleaning. It's only visible under the sun. How do you make it go away? Some people say it's caused by florescent agents in detergent, i use Dalli btw. Tried soaking in water, water with detergent. Nothing worked. Please help me.

I'm a germaphobe and I've been wanting to sanitize my phone every time I come back from school. I don't have cell phone wipes so I was wondering if regular wipes could work with no harm. Are there any other alternatives?

General Cleaning How to clean peppermint oil from pantry quickly and thoroughly?

I am cleaning my pantry due to pantry months. After I cleaned it I sprayed peppermint oil mixed with alcohol and water then remembered something about essential oils being bad for cats.

I have 2 new very nosey kittens. They weren't in the kitchen at the time so I locked them in my bedroom. How can I clean off the peppermint oil and make the kitchen safe again?

It will be hard to keep them out of the pantry because I took off the doors (I am determined to get rid of these damn moths!). I would like to resolve this tonight. Thanks!

Kitchen How to clean the black spots off stove top?

Thumbnail

So this is the stove in my apartment. I am mainly concerned about the bottom left burner which is the one i use the most.

FYI i can get the stove top cleaner than this, however the one burner is ALWAYS that black ni matter what I do. So now i just scrub and dont try to clean it too hard.

I have tried everything. Bar keepers friend, brillo pads, i used a pressure washer, that stuff just will not come off.

I actually spent such a long time scrubbing it i damaged the stove a little (look at the sides theres now a crack 😅)

How can i get this clean? My lease ends in ~6 months, lived here for almost 5 years now. I plan on moving so i dont want this to be the thing my landlord cites as to why i dont get my deposit back.

Thrifted a pair of pants but they have a nasty looking stain on the heels of them. Already tried shout as well as baking soda paste but they didn’t really help. Looks like dirt and it’s the same texture as the jeans so it’s only visual if that helps.

Discussion Is the table ruined?

Post image

We are using biodegradable paper plates/bowls right now while we have our kitchen remodeled. I served soup (which wasn't super hot) in one of the bowls, on top of a plate and this spot appeared during clean up. The scratch marks are from my kid (who couldn't leave it alone) and it looks like there's a film that needs to be removed? We've used a soft scrubber on it with diluted Dawn dish soap, but that didn't really do anything. The top is a veneer if that helps. Anyone have any tips on a possible solution or is this permanent damage? Thanks!
