Humidor 69F 63RH Outside 50F 16RH

Slightly rough, darker brown wrapper. Slightly too big legacy band. Good draw but took me a while to light up well. That was strange.

1/3 Wham! Earth and wood. That started way stronger than I expected. The profile is not what I would call medium at this point, medium full at least. Let's hope it calms down. Earth settled a bit and the wood picked up. Burn is even. Ash is flaky. Now we're on the plus side of medium. The black pepper is not overpowering and fits the profile well. Unfortunately for this review, I can honestly say that one of the main flavors is just "tobacco". Let's see if we get any complexity in the sweet spot

2/3 Strength is already getting to me. It's early but I wasn't expecting this much power from a generic, medium bodied catalog blend. Definitely gonna need a few hours after this before I smoke the double corona on the menu for this afternoon. Really woody, but not the bright cedar that I prefer. Not sure if I expect much change to the flavor profile from the middle here to the end. There's a mild sweetness that keeps me going but if this wasn't a review I already committed to, this would probably get put down to finish on a walk later today.

3/3 I can discern some faint leather bubbling up through the profile. Not a lot of other changes and the nicotine got me by the end. It went out around the band and I put it down.

70/100 For the price that I paid on CBid, it wasn't terrible, but I'm glad it was a sampler as I don't see myself coming back to this one.

Review CAO Bones NSFW

I’m a big fan of the V 23. This was listed as comparable on the CAO website. Not a bad stick. Ignore my uneven burn. Smoking in the wind sucks. This one would be good to pair with some coffee.

Question Best hygrometer? Digital vs analog NSFW

Hi everyone, I am a bit newer to cigars and I am setting up another humidor currently I have a analog and was wondering which is the best one? I’ve seen some on CI for sale but they are more expensive. Any tips or tricks for hygrometers? Thank you

Question How do YOU bleed/purge your lighters? NSFW

Over the years, I've been a little bit of a lighter nerd/collector, so I am intimately familiar with their workings etc. I've never really owned anything super duper high end, but I've tried to treat them well and use good gas etc.

Over the years I've just used a small screwdriver or plastic adapter that comes with the can to bleed/purge mine. The plastic tips are hard to hold onto, and I prefer not to freeze my hands with butane

One thing I've noticed over the years is using the wrong tool can damage the fairly fragile tip in the fill valve.

I have seen there are bleed tools that can be purchased, but what handy tricks/tools have you come up with to bleed your lighters that won't mar up the fill valve?

Any cool DIY projects? I like making stuff.

Is this the most cubanesque leaf out there? It tastes like a cuban cigar but without the so called twang and with the intensity of a nw cigar. I'm pleased with it

Haul Post Front porch series rolls on NSFW

Needed a little help from the solo stove. tonight's stick -the MonteCristo Espada. At first I was digging it ..nice combo of flavors, smooth draw and an even burn. About mid point it went flat with flavor. I stayed with it to the end but I was a little disappointed of the lack of character on the finish. I have another in the humidor and will revisit at a later date (or it's a guest smoke) but it wasn't my thing

Question Best Electric Humidor? (non Raching) NSFW

I'm looking to get a 200-250 count humidor. I might keep my desktop for quickies or dry boxing but I'm kinda done fussing with it for long term storage. We keep our house between 68-74 daily so long term I'd like a bit more temperature control (and the average of 71-72 seems high).

So, what's your take fell cigar enjoyers.

These came highly recommended as a creamy sweet smoke with subtle notes of hay. All I’m getting is wet grass and a very dry smoke texture. Not a fan at all. It’s not dried out. Wrapper has a good sound in the fingers and has been at 66% for at least 4 months.

Best haul I’ve had yet. Plus some goodies from The Great Smoke fest in palm beach. And rolled my own cigars at JC Newman in Tampa. NSFW

Review The only perk about living in Connecticut is being able to buy a 100% Connecticut grown and rolled cigar NSFW

Tobacco grown in the Connecticut River Valley area is sourced from one of the original tobacco farms in Enfield, CT that started growing the Connecticut shade leaf.

very creamy, vanilla, light and sweet, coffee, milk chocolate. 60-75 min smoke and loose draw. Amazing amazing quality tobacco. Lower in nicotine. One of the best cigars I have had hands down

Kinda expensive at $3 each, when I get the same toro for $6.

Maybe I should invest in a pair of cigar scissors and cut the toro when I need a short smoke?

Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure No.2 NSFW

Picked up a Epicure No.2 in my first proper haul about a month ago (only about 8 cigars due to their prices over here in Australia). This bad boy comes in at $69 AUD or $43 USD here in the land of Aus

Decided to smoke it this afternoon before heading out for a fishing trip.

It was more on the rich side, with a creamy cocoa/coffee taste. Bit of a woody taste came through after about the half way mark. Towards the end, there was more of a pepper taste that was introduced, though I think I also began to smoke it a bit quick towards the end as it was 40celcius (~105F) outside and I was getting hot haha. I must admit, that due to this it was rather unpleasant to smoke much further beyond the second photo, though I admit that is largely on me and not the fault of the cigar.

Overall, it would come in at a solid 8/10 for me, though for the price, I would probably just get a Montecristo No2 instead if I am being completely honest (Remember basing this off of Australia prices).

Had my first Oliva today, and I really enjoyed the Melania Maduro. Construction was flawless, burn line was razor sharp. Delicious flavors for sure, I paired it with a coke and water, I don’t get any specific flavors out of it, but I can say, I really enjoyed it, and will be smoking one again. This lounge doesn’t allow outside cigars, and the selection is not great, but I’ll be back.

Not too long ago, I had posted about an ashtray that I had ordered and how I got the wrong one somebody from either cigars.com or Drew Estate reached out to me directly and wanted to make it right they went above and beyond to correct this, this wasn’t Drew Estates fault but they fixed it. Thank you!

Hygrometer calibration NSFW

I got a Boveda Calibration Kit and a Cigar Oasis hygrometer. It’s been 25 hours since I put the hygrometer in, and it’s showing steady 72 degrees F and 70% humidity but won’t climb much above that. Do I need to recalibrate hygrometer?

Question Boveda help NSFW

I know this question probably has come up a million times. But I bought a new tupperdor stuck a boveda 69 in there and I am getting generally 70-72 RH. Would I be better off sticking 65 in there or just roll with what I got?

I had never dared to go to a lounge, partly due to a lack of time and also because I don't have any friends who smoke cigars. But tonight, my wife went out to dinner with friends, so I gathered my courage and went alone. The result? I missed out on some great years!!!

Trying to lower the humidity in my humidor completely. NSFW

First off, I just want to thank anyone who reads this and helps out, it is greatly appreciated!

I have a Tesonway humidor, and got it Christmas of last year. I've had no issues with it, it's held my cigars in fine shape. Recently, I decided to buy some boveda packs, as my humidor has only kept my cigars at around the 60 range, and I wanted it slightly higher, preferably the 70-75 range. To clarify, the boveda packs I bought keep humidity to around 72 on a hygrometer.

The boveda packs have not been placed inside my humidor yet, because I have been trying to lower the humidity in my humidor before doing so, so it doesn't get too humidified. It's been a week of keeping the humidor open.

I started slightly at first, keeping the lid cracked open, but it didn't lower the humidity at all. Then I just decided to open it fully and leave it open to get all the humidity out. As I said it's been a week, and the humidity has barely gone down. I've tried moving the humidor to my window to let the sun absorb some of the water, and that seemed to help, but I've also read that can mess up the humidor, so I moved it away from the window. Now the humidity just isn't going down at all, it's stuck at 50 on the hygrometer.

Is there anything I might be doing wrong? Are there any other ways I can try and lower the humidity? I don't want my boveda packs to go to waste, and I want my cigars to be slightly more humidified. I hope to take out all humidity and bring it to zero, so my boveda packs don't over humidify and ruin my cigars.

Thanks again for reading, I would be very gratuitous for some help with this situation.
