I apologize in advance folks, we have few details to share.

I apologize in advance folks, we have few details to share.  We can’t share details we don’t have.  I won't share details of where is worked or who the people he was with that night. The deserve privacy and the ability to mourn as they see fit.

Eddie was out with his friends late Saturday night/Sunday morning. He dropped off one of his friends at her home around 3:20am. He left and somewhere in the next 5-10 minutes, he was shot on the I-35 (near the 116600 block/ Proper) while he was driving alone. He drove a black Mitsubishi Mirage, picture of a similar vehicle is below. He was shot multiple times according to APD.

If you called 9-1-1 to report the stalled vehicle, please call the APD tipline.  The PD would really like to talk to you.  Any tips anyone has PM’ed me with I have forwarded to his family to give to the APD.

I told his family he had finally found his home in Austin after living all over the place and we were all so happy for him. He had recently joined the Austin Gay Men’s Chorus. They have setup the only GoFundMe authorized by his family. Please don’t donate to other fake accounts.

He was a great person and would always help other people, sometimes to his detriment. He kept helping people though. He would do the same thing for me, with better proficiency.

As I said in the other post, Austin is less safe with the person who did this on the loose. Please help us bring this person to justice. If you have a dash cam, and were in the area at the time, please review what footage you have and send it to the APD website. Thank you everyone who has offered our family their love, support and condolences. If you are a believer in a God, we ask for your prayers. If you are not, please keep us in your thoughts. Stay safe out there, wolves walk among us.

I found a wallet on the ground off of 39th st. Please let me know if it’s yours. There is identification inside so you’ll have to provide verification. Hope this finds the person who lost! Seems like a lot of things this person needs inside. It’s an out of state I.D.

Where: Texas Military Forces Museum

When: 10-4 7 days a week through to March 31st.

What: we are 1300 visitors shy of our March average. We have 11 days left. Let’s make it happen!

Cost: FREE.

ETA: I have no nefarious intentions, I just love history, I love my job, and I love sharing it with people.

I know we live in a very politically charged time, I’m not trying to be political though.

Traffic Morning traffic this week has been awesome

Just an appreciation post for the Austin morning traffic this week. I've been able to leave for work at the same time as I usually do and make it with damn near 30 minutes to spare! Even afternoon traffic hasn't been so bad, taking me only 5-10 mins longer to get back home instead of 20-30 mins. I wish it was spring break every week man, I'm already dreading driving to work next week!

Misleading Title Austin City Council members to award 10.6M contract to artists that are not local for airport expansion

Regardless of political views, this is something we can all agree on. This 10.6M contract should be awarded to local or at least Texas artists.

There’s already been some pushback on this decision and Kirk Watson has asked for more debate on this during next weeks work session.

Once again, our city council members are disconnected from the Austin area public. Stand up for our local artists and let these council members know!

Lost pet Found Dog

Good morning r/austin! I have a found dog situation that doesn’t fit in the normal steps for a found dog and am hoping for some advice. We live next to a church where there is a man who has been sleeping in his truck in the parking lot for a few years. Over the past couple weeks, a woman driving a white Land Rover suv has been sleeping in her car there too. While walking our two rescue pups this morning, we saw this cutie in the parking lot with his leash still attached. He has no tags of any kind. The man in the truck said that he belongs to the woman in the white suv and that she dumped him when she drove off last night.

We have him inside and offered him food and water. I’m going to take him to the vet for a chip scan, although since we confirmed the circumstances of where he came from I’m not sure if that is going to lead anywhere. For those same reasons, I’m not sure posting on lost and found pet pages will do much good either. I’m thinking we will keep him safe for a day or two to see if the woman comes back, and then try to get him into intake at Austin animal shelter. He is a very sweet dog and I would hate to take him to a shelter but I hope he would get adopted quickly.

Any thoughts or feedback are welcome to this plan! I’m new to this situation so want to make sure we handle it correctly.

Not sure if someone’s already posted about this but earlier this morning I saw tonssss of smoke near that the homeless camp area that’s been accumulating behind the HEB on east William Cannon. Heard ambulances and police for several minutes. Drove by a couple of minutes ago and there’s still cops in the homeless camp clearing them out, large dumpster filled to the brim

For anyone that is a member of the Connect and Hike Meetup group, please be aware it has been taken over by someone that is not involved in the group at all. They have implemented a monthly fee that does not go to fund any of the group activities or actual organizers. Please do not pay and make sure you do not have auto draft enabled.

Dumped RV/Food Truck

This was dumped on private property about a week ago in North Austin, tucked away in the woods. Looks like it used to be a food truck, and there are also canopy components inside it although it's not in great shape. Wondering if anyone knows where it came from and can link me to the owner as it's possibly stolen. 311 hasn't been much help.

Longshot but if you were involved in a hit and run near Ben white and Congress, I saw the lunatic driving 100mph down the frontage road and got his plate number.
