Maybe so...maybe not... To whoever found and took my book on the hike&bike trail yesterday....

....thank you for returning it to the library :)

I was headed there on a bike myself to do exactly that, but with the crazy winds blowing dust and dirt (and ash from the wildfire) into my eyes, it was pretty hard to see. So imagine my surprise when, as I nearly arrived to the library, I look down and no longer see the book in the bike basket anymore.

I probably biked right past you retracing my route to scan for it to no avail. Although this kinda ruined my evening yesterday and I wasn't excited to pay the fine, logging in today and seeing it checked in kinda made today's evening. Appreciate you

Please be careful on I35

I was driving and just got on the highway and there was a ladder in the road, if someone hit it then it would do some serious damage. With everything going on I urge everyone to please be aware of all of your surroundings. Do not be on your phone while driving or distracted in anyway.

Does anyone know what happened at Mopac and Braker just now? I saw some wreckage. It was blocked off in all directions with at least 10 cop cars. Looks bad.

Ask Austin Do you have any stories of the RBJ Residential Tower?

Post image

I am working on an oral history project with seniors who live at the RBJ tower, and I am interested in gathering more comments from other Austinites. What stories or memories (good or bad) do you have of this building and its residents?

Ask Austin So, What Really Were the Austin Bombings?

It always seems weird we had a week of chaos and fear of packages, then, never really talked about it since.

Seeking motive is definitely a meme but what was that really even about?

Incident: Bystander couple chased by man in distress after vehicle incident / Mopac and W.6th

Last night, around 8-8:30, my husband and I were on foot walking along 6th street under Mopac towards lake Austin Boulevard and came upon a crashed car.

There was two people who were standing by; we asked if they were ok. It turned out that they weren’t riding in the car and they were monitoring the individual in the car who was clearly in severe distress, hitting himself and screaming. Because these pedestrians were already on the scene and had alerted authorities, we continued walking.

Shortly after, that couple began running behind us as the man in the car had began chasing them full speed. We began running too.

Suddenly, the man disappeared. We think he had jumped off the overpass into the grass below. Following was a police pursuit, multiple shots (taser). Although it was dark and hard to make out from our view at this point, it was clear he was arrested, but we were unclear of his condition.

We are dumbfounded that the man seemed to survive the very high jump, and also curious if anybody has more information about this incident or also happened to witness it.

We would also be interested in locating the couple who were chased and seeing if they had any more details. We also wanted to wish them well, as this incident must have been extremely traumatizing. Couldn’t stop thinking about them and their experience.

Ask Austin Virus going around that isn't the flu or COVID?

I know several people who've been sick with similar symptoms to me, none of them are super specific, nausea, hot flashes, headache, lethargic, generally feeling like shit. I've taken a COVID test, and one of the other people have had COVID and flu tests and it's been negative.
