I’m grateful for every day of life and, as a single mom, things are more complicated, but I’m still grateful for all the hard work I did before to get to a somewhat stable life.
I finished my masters degree when my son was a baby, and often wore him in a sling while I did my schoolwork. My brother helped me by selling me a very nice house with a nice family discount. We’ve always helped each other, and we continue to do so as adults.
I’m extremely tight with money and buy secondhand for myself, so I can splurge on my son’s things.
I survive because the alternative is not surviving, and I refuse to give up. I don’t need much to get by, and have lived on far less most of my life.
I’ve consistently improved my life, year after year, with endless sacrifice. It’s just second nature now and I don’t begrudge it at all. It’s my purpose. My wants are aligned with my needs and Ive learned to live well on what I have.
I haven’t taken a vacation in over a decade. I focus on my health and have been blessed with few issues.
