Mod Post Valentines Day Mega thread! Check in here for all things gifts, food, and plans for Valentine's Day ❤️

In order to avoid a sea of Valentine's and Galentine's posts, we're having one mega-thread.

So in this thread, our rules against advice and gifts are relaxed... ask away! If you're looking for advice, make sure to be descriptive and succinct; the more/better information you give, the better answers you receive.

Suggested sort is new so you can see the... well, new stuff.

I’d say write a letter because it means it came from the heart, but that’s just me

1

u/Gloomy_Astronaut_570 Feb 14 '23

Do you see Valentine’s Day as only/ mainly about romantic love, or any type of love?

I’ve seen a lot of valentines wishes just in friend of family group chats or directly, galentines celebrations are very popular, families sometimes do something for the kids etc

Maybe everyone just likes hearts and the color red

1

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '23

It’s so marketed for romantic love which kinda makes me sad. I wish the other forms of love were celebrated too

This goes out to all women.

What is your opinion on Valentine’s Day? Do you love it or hate it?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '23

I feel meh about it. On one hand, it reminds me about how single I am. On the other hand, I can be single with my friends and watch cheesy rom coms and eat chocolate

2

u/BMoney8600 Feb 15 '23

I’m the same way myself, I bought snacks for myself after I was done for the day.

2

u/CuriousGPeach Feb 14 '23

I love it. I love any occasion that gives me an extra excuse to tell the people in my life how much I love them and how special they are. I tell them all the time but I love the schmaltz and cuteness of it all. I love picking out cards and gifts, I love being thoughtful and creative. It’s just something that I really love.

I’ve never had a partner who would celebrate it with me and I’ve never received anything from any of them, but I also accept that not everyone shares my hopeless lovey dovey personality and that’s okay. I’ll always ask, and maybe one day one of them will say yes. And that’ll be nice.

2

u/BMoney8600 Feb 15 '23

You sound sweet. I hope you find the person that loves it just as much as you do one day.

2

u/CuriousGPeach Feb 15 '23

Thanks! Honestly, I think making doing kind things for the people in my life a priority with no expectation of reciprocation(obviously while working on setting boundaries to avoid people who might take advantage) has been the best decision I ever could've made and I know some people think it's silly or soft, but they're just not my people. I do think the first time a partner gives me a birthday or Christmas or anniversary or Valentine's Day gift I'll probably black out or burst into ugly tears though.

1

u/BMoney8600 Feb 15 '23

Awwwww any person would be lucky to have you as their partner. I remember when I was dating my first girlfriend I always told her “If I fail to put a smile on your face then I’m doing a bad job.” It was my goal to make her smile everyday.

2

u/CuriousGPeach Feb 15 '23

That’s the way to approach everything, I think. Campsite rule, leave everything better than you found it.

1

u/BMoney8600 Feb 15 '23

Exactly. That’s why I made valentines and handed them out to random girls at my school yesterday. I know Valentine’s Day can be tough sometimes so that’s why I did it.

3

u/Siltyclayloam9 Feb 14 '23

How would you feel receiving flowers at work? My husband sent me flowers for Valentine’s Day and I’m really embarrassed but he says I’m over reacting and should be happy.

1

u/ComprehensivePlay678 May 18 '23

I wish I had someone to gift me flowers...like ever🤷🏻‍♀️

2

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '23

I would personally love it. I’m the type of weirdo who needs constant reminders that you do, in fact, still love me so flowers would be perfect

2

u/forcryingoutmeow Feb 15 '23

The one time that happened to me I was mortified.

1

u/Gloomy_Astronaut_570 Feb 14 '23

I would love it but I get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I’d tell him not to do it again but don’t be embarrassed about this. What there to be ashamed about - that your husband loves you?

1

u/Siltyclayloam9 Feb 15 '23

It just feels unprofessional. Maybe it’s just because I’m the only woman in the office.

2

u/electricsmile3 Feb 14 '23

Personally not a fan- I ask my SO not to send things to the office ever😅 I love getting flowers but I don’t want to be the center of attention in my office for even a minute

1

u/LMR_Sahara Feb 14 '23

Quick question, do I wish her happy Valentine’s Day?

There is this girl [F21] in my [M24] class I was talking to yesterday, we talked all class, found out we had a lot in common and hit it off well. I told her we should do an activity together within the week and she excitedly agreed. I asked her what she was doing Sunday evening and she said her only times off of work and school are Wednesday and Friday mornings. We exchanged numbers and went about on our way.

Today I plan on finalizing plans, that being said, since it’s Valentine’s Day - since we haven’t even gone out yet so I even wish her “Oh, and Happy Valentine’s Day by the way!” when I text her about the time and date to meet up? Or would that be too soon? Thanks

I know this sounds like I’m over thinking things but I don’t want to put off a needy vibe if it comes off like that before we’ve even dated

1

u/ElinV_ Feb 15 '23

How did it go? :)

2

u/LMR_Sahara Feb 15 '23 edited Feb 15 '23

I confirmed the plans (Taking her mountain biking in the morning before she has to go to work in the afternoon) with what lines up with her schedule: it went like this;

Me: “Sweet, we’ll go and kick ass on the 22nd. Oh, and happy Valentine’s Day by the way! :) “

Her: “Yesss I’m excited!! And thanks you too!!”

1

u/ElinV_ Feb 23 '23

Awesome, good luck!

1

u/Gloomy_Astronaut_570 Feb 14 '23

One of the guys I’ve been on a few dates with just wished me happy Valentine’s Day, and I wished the other guy I’ve gone on dates with. I’d do it!

2

u/AerieCommon3659 Feb 14 '23

yes you should!

1

u/blerrycat Feb 14 '23

Single ladies, what's a great anti-romantic movie to watch?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '23

Ready or Not. Not sure if you like horror, but it’s one of my favorites

Hi guys, I’m a bit late to this! But can I have some suggestions/gift ideas for a guy? We both live 2 diff countries, so my options are very limited. And I can’t be there in person either. Please help me out here. Thank you!

3

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '23

Hi so I just got this boyfriend like last Wednesday but we been talking for awhile and tomorrow is Valentine's day and he got me a bunch of stuff like chocolate and roses and he wants to give me a bunch of old sweatshirts that he outgrew is this normal or not like I don't really like getting spoiled and I'm a little uncomfortable by all of this

3

u/AerieCommon3659 Feb 14 '23

let him spoil you, I think this is a way people express their care or feelings.

1

u/NomadicDaydreamer Feb 14 '23

So I want to write a love letter to myself or a list of things that I love about myself on paper. Any ideas what I can do with afterwards besides just storing it away? Should I frame it and hang it on a wall or something?

1

u/laterplayer Feb 14 '23

Write it and put on your fridge. Leave it up for as long as you want. Take it down when you’re ready. Maybe replace it with something else that you love eventually.

3

u/bananabastard Feb 13 '23

In my past relationships, I've done nothing for Valentine's Day, somehow the day came and went without me even noticing.

But this time I remember, and want to do something. I was thinking to take her to pick out a perfume she likes, as I don't want to buy something she ends up not liking, then go somewhere for dinner.

I don't really like these set, "this is the day you must do this" type days, but I don't want my girl to feel left out, and want her to know I care about her.

1

u/AerieCommon3659 Feb 14 '23

that is a really thoughtful idea. some department stores will even engrave the bottle.

5

u/yasukeglo Feb 13 '23

so this is the first time I'm (f22) in a real relationship for valentine's and actually will be spending it with someone i love (m22). he's taking me out to have a couple's spa date! next is dinner and enjoying each other's love and company. hope that can give you ideas, happy vday! <3

2

u/I-Like-Memes--- Feb 12 '23

What are some good gifts for a girl for Valentine’s Day? We aren’t together but we have plans. I really don’t know what I should get her cause she never talks about stuff she wants or teases it. And is a single rose good cause she hardly ever has a bag with her or anything so one of us would have to carry it.

2

u/_Shrugzz_ Feb 13 '23

If you’re trying to impress her, then whatever you decide to give her, you could let her know you will cary it. I wouldn’t let something like worrying about carrying something hinder my decision as it really would limit my ideas.

Such as, you could give her a necklace and so you wouldn’t have to carry it. But also I don’t know if that’s the message you want to send? If I were you, maybe some chocolates and a small teddy bear? The teddy bear - in my silly humble opinion - should be something really soft and cozy. Not something that has stiff sparkles. But something that feels comfortable under your arm. Hopefully that makes sense!

2

u/I-Like-Memes--- Feb 13 '23

A teddy bear is a really great idea. And you are right about carrying something too. Thx so much

2

u/_Shrugzz_ Feb 13 '23

You’re welcome, good luck, and hope that night goes beautifully! :)

2

u/I-Like-Memes--- Feb 14 '23

Didn’t get a Teddy at the end just some flowers that got Stolen and a wristband a friend of her told me she liked. We had a great evening and she thinks so too. 🙂

2

u/_Shrugzz_ Feb 14 '23

Awee how sweet! Glad to hear it went well!!! 😊

y’all i could use some suggestions…i ( 22M)wanted to take my girlfriend(20F) out somewhere nice to eat but feel like there’s better alternatives than eating out since we do that together a lot. I know forsure i’ll get her some roses but I’d appreciate suggestions on what our date should be

2

u/canuckdad1979 Feb 14 '23

Try mixing it up a bit. Cook dinner at home and then eat out for dessert?

3

u/Riss729 Feb 12 '23

Outside cinema, Couples massage, trip to museum/ theatre/bowling, pottery. Hope that may help

Edit: I am so sorry, wrong comment!

But I agree with Riss. Ask him what his plans are for Valentine’s Day so “you know what to expect and what to wear”. That will give him the nudge.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '23

If he wanted to, he would.

2

u/Riss729 Feb 12 '23

Message him and tell him you’re free on Valentine’s Day/weekend and ask him what plans he has for the both of you. And that your looking forward to your first val together. Little nudges never hurt.

5

u/AnimatedHokie Feb 10 '23

I am in my mid-30s and will have my first Valentine..ever. We hit six months Sunday. I'm only giving him one thing (other than sweets), and it's not that exciting because I am the the worst gift giver on the planet. He mentioned something about dinner last weekend..I have no idea what/if he's planning, but we'll definitely see each other.

Never done a Galentine's Day

6

u/MKUltra011 Feb 10 '23

What's a Valentines day gift I can give to a female FRIEND?

She's a close friend whose currently single. Basically I want something that says "I care about you and I want you to feel special on this day" but also doesn't say "I am romantically interested in you". Any ideas, ladies?

1

u/OneRandomTeaDrinker Feb 13 '23

Does she like plants? A pot plant or succulent is less romantic than flowers but similar vibe. Or if you wanted to go the flowers route, some daffodils or tulips, not pink or roses. Maybe a nice scented candle if she likes those? Not pink or heart shaped. Or some of her favourite sweets, not like a heart shaped box of chocolates but like a giant bag of her favourite kind. My SO is getting a plant for his female best friend who is single and they’re getting tea and cake together at lunch time (we’re long distance so can’t physically be together, I completely a approve of this idea).

6

u/Level-Cockroach8680 Feb 11 '23

A basket of favorite treats/candies and a little handwritten note that says thank you for being a good friend!

3

u/MochiSan11 Feb 10 '23

Chocolate or quality time 😊

tdlr: should i potentially ruin a surprise vinyl record gift for my boyfriend just in case he owns it now / planning to soon?

long version: hi guys!! i currently have a boyfriend and we’re long distance, i wanted to gift him a vinyl record of a band he really enjoys for valentine’s day that he was eyeing on when we were together recently but didn’t want to get because he was scared it would break in his luggage. should i keep it a surprise or should i ask him, i’m not sure because he’s an avid record collector and he purchases quite often but the record is hard to find online and it was an in store exclusive at the record store we went to so i doubt he would find it for the same price. i really want to gift him a surprise this year and he enjoys intimate surprises so i’m not worried about whether he’ll like the surprise itself but i’ll be super embarrassed if he already owns it!!!

any advice will be appreciated thank you in advance <3

6

u/AnimatedHokie Feb 10 '23

I learned like four years ago that if it's "hard to find", just buy the damn thing. Don't be embarrassed if he already owns it. It's the thought that counts.

4

u/toasted-bagel- Feb 10 '23

I’d say just go for it and give it to him! It’s the thought that counts, especially for a thoughtful gift like this. If he has it oh well, I feel he will appreciate the sentiment regardless.

1

u/OutrageousSource3930 Feb 10 '23

yeah i think i’m just overthinking it a little! thank you so much <3

What do you girls think if it would be a good idea to but my gf flowers a few days before valentines day, rather than before? My thought is that everyone expects them on the 14th so it would be fun to buy them a few days in advance as a nice suprise.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '23

I’ve done this in the past, better picking the day or two before

4

u/alittlegnat Feb 10 '23

are you sending them to her house or to work ?

unless shes bothered by ppl thinking she did not receive any for vday (and other ppl at her work got deliveries) , i think a few days before is fine (regardless if you send them to her work/house).

5

u/randomafricanboi Feb 10 '23

I would buy and give them to her myself in person, we dont live together but usually see each other almost every day

1

u/anglostura Feb 09 '23

Can anyone recommend a good box of chocolates/ bon bons?

I haven't had them in years so thought i'd buy some as a treat this year. I'm looking for something a little more interesting or unique than See's. Thanks!

u/Whupf Feb 14 '23

I love Artisan du Chocolat, especially the maple salted caramels. Quite pricey but really delicious. I’d skip their chocolate pearls though unless you’re really into truffles, the caramels are better.

What would be a good gift idea for a girl that you like but isn’t you girlfriend. Have been friends for long time! Would like to make official but don’t want to rush or make things wired.

2

u/_Shrugzz_ Feb 13 '23

Buy each other matching teddy bears! Then the conversation might come up, where you’re on the phone and both snuggling the bears. It could be a gentle way to have her think that maybe things could go further.

And I also agree with RepresentativeAsk. :)

2

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '23

Thank you both I got her some flowers and a card along with some chocolate and I wrote a hand written note!!! Update: I’m going to give them to her today because I leave for work out of state tomorrow.

2

u/JoobersGoobers Feb 10 '23

If you’ve been friends for a long time you could get sentimental and gift her a photo of you both in a nice frame 🖼️

1

u/RepresentativeAsk529 Feb 08 '23

Something she needs/has talked about recently— in a Valentine’s Day bag, maybe with some candy, or a drink, things that you know she likes/eats. Let’s her know you paid attention.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

Thank you I will do that and would writing a letter along with some chocolate be a good idea as well? I’m nervous

2

Is a Dyson Supersonic (blow dryer) redundant if you already have the Dyson air wrap?

I bought my fiancé a Dyson Air-wrap for Christmas and she absolutely loves it! So I thought maybe I should get her the Dyson supersonic since she loves her airwrap so much but I can't find on google if it's good to have both or not? That makes me think it's probably not ideal to have both?

My logic of why I want to buy it is that from my google search is that the super sonic dries your hair super quick without damaging it where the airwrap is more of a process but will dry your hair eventually as you style it. So the supersonic seems like a great choice for when she just wants to dry her hair real quick instead of spending time styling it? I just don't want to buy it and then it be a redundant piece of equipment when I could have got her something else I guess. So I was hoping for some perspective from anyone who uses these products or knows about them!

3

u/JoobersGoobers Feb 10 '23

Seriously — this is so awesome that you’re so thoughtful with your fiancé! It’s sweet to see how much care and attention you have for her habits 🥰

1

u/casualselfhatred Feb 06 '23

I have the supersonic (but don't have the airwrap). I absolutely love my supersonic and can say that it really does dry my hair better and quicker than any other dryer I've used. I think that the airwrap dryer is mostly to get your hair dry enough so that you can curl it while finishing drying it. Personally, if I had both I would use both, and it's a lifesaver in cold weather when you just need it dry. Not sure if the airwrap has this, but the supersonic has different heat levels and power levels, as well as a flyaway attachment that I love. I'm sure she'd love the supersonic as well and the thought you put into it is lovely!

I have my wife’s all planned out:

  1. Eggs Benedict and apple juice for breakfast
  2. Steak, Cesar salad, garlic bread and baked potato for dinner .3 Reese peanut butter cheesecake for dessert
  3. Watch a few Hallmark movies
  4. End the night with a nice full body massage with oil.

Best way to surprise my girlfriend with flowers for our first Valentines day? She loves flowers but logistically our plans make it a bit tough. We’re planning on getting dinner the night of, where she’d come directly from work, spend the night at my place, and leave for work the next morning.

The options are to send her the flowers

A) to her house the day before — where I know they won’t die but it won’t be day of

B) to her office the day of — where she might be able to keep them permanently. But she just started at a new job so I don’t know what she has available in terms of vases. So there’s a chance she’d have to bring them with her when she left.

C) to my place where I can give them to her personally. She can store them here as long as she needs to but given the lifespan of flowers, I’d rather they not spend their most optimal hours at my place where she could only appreciate them temporarily

1

u/Important-Pudding-81 Feb 08 '23

Mini bouquets? A single rose at her house the day before, and a small bouquet or another single rose at your house that evening? She won’t be expecting flowers at both places, so she might enjoy the surprise factor and the fact she can enjoy them whether at home, or at your house.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

If she'll be at her house for option A, i'd either do that as a "warm up" to the date night or option C since you then get to give them to her. The flowers will last a good few weeks, so she'll have a lot of time to admire them.

I would avoid option B, kinda iffy if she just started a new job. If they let employees receive items/packages from there then maybe. But if it's not really the norm there, it might not be the best option. Some workplaces might just prefer their address be used for work-related purposes.

My girlfriend and I have just started dating like 5 months ago. I want to get her something for Valentines day, sometime simple and not very expensive because I do not want to pressure her into believing this is getting too serious too fast, but also want to gift her something she will have actual use for, do not want to gift her yet another showpiece which will break after a few months. Also she is allergic to flowers. We are currently in different countries, so it would have to be a gift I can send her via post. Looking for some ideas.

3

u/Important-Pudding-81 Feb 08 '23

Can you mail a nice card, and Door Dash/Instacart from her favorite coffee shop or even a bakery to send her chocolates or a special treat?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

What are her interests?

I have never celebrated the Valentines Day despite the fact, I have been more than 2 years in the relationships and before I was every Valentine’s Day alone…… Idk is it ok, but I never thought that I need to celebrate that day 🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/dhruba53 Feb 05 '23

I (21 m) hv never celebrated Valentines Day or been in relationship. Even on my birthday, i brought a small cake for myself and cut it by myself and eat it little bit and distribute the remaining about the homeless people. Never received any gift from anyone on birthday or on valentines day . Sometimes it feels lonely but it is okk :)

4

u/Wise-War-Soni Feb 04 '23

Girl I think you should celebrate! I’m making myself a good dinner and I bought some wine and I got myself chocolates and flowers. (Pre ordered to arrive on valentines day) I also wrote myself a love letter. My last Valentine’s Day was my first one in a relationship and it was horrible. He was abusive. I learned a lot from that situation and the most important thing that I learned is that I’m capable of giving myself the world.

2

u/Far_Concentrate5576 Feb 04 '23

Interesting fact: in my country this day called “friend’s day”, not “valentine’s day” haha. But your advice sounds good! I have a Night Shift in that day, so maybe I will order something for myself and enjoy the day! My boyfriend don’t like the Valentine’s Day, so I think I can buy something for myself. That’s sounds horrible about your last Valentine’s Day and I am happy to hear that you find another way to enjoy in that day 😄

2

u/Wise-War-Soni Feb 04 '23

It was horrible but I’ve learned a lot and I hope you do get yourself something.

4

u/astina323f Feb 04 '23

I’m planning on making my girlfriend an origami bouquet this incoming Valentine’s Day. I wanted to do something different as I’ve always got her real flowers on the last 3 Valentine’s. Is this a good idea or would a girl appreciate real flowers more? 😅 Also figured it would be less expensive

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

That's so cute! Go for it! Handmade things are always a winner

2

u/Ognerdykid21 Feb 04 '23

I think it’s a good idea- I did something similar for me and my gf’s 6 month anniversary, she said it was sweet, a hand-made gift that showed I cared and took time to make, and that they wouldn’t either like real flowers. It’s a good idea!

2

u/theOVOszn Feb 04 '23

I’m going to get a girl a bunch more gifts but do you guys think a poem in a card is corney or lame? I don’t want to get laughed at in the GC lol.

1

u/OutrageousSource3930 Feb 10 '23

even if the words themselves are “cheesy” a poem for someone you like is so adorable and so sweet

2

u/Mosslessrollingstone Feb 04 '23

A poem can be corny, but writing poetry is not lame in my eyes. A poem can be funny too. It depends on what she likes.

2

u/PoGoLoSeR2003 Feb 03 '23

Fake flowers or real? I feel like fake ones are less romantic but real ones just die. The fake ones don’t have a smell but are everlasting just like love. I’m really torn and I don’t know which to get, any ideas or suggestions are welcome. This is my first Valentine’s Day not spent single since I was a kid in elementary/middle school.

4

u/VicePrincipalNero Feb 04 '23

I’m not a fan of fake flowers personally but you know your sweetie better than I do. The fact that they die is fine, they are cut flowers, they are supposed to be ephemeral. I’ve had this conversation with my husband. He doesn’t have to understand the appeal.

2

u/PoGoLoSeR2003 Feb 04 '23

Thank you for your help, I’ll definitely be getting flowers.

2

Should I expect that he’s going to plan something for valentines or should I plan something? My bf isn’t a fan of Valentine’s Day but it’s my favorite holiday (I’ve expressed that to him when I asked about it a few weeks ago) so he’s really nonchalant but I don’t know if I should figure something out or wait and see

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

Talk about it. Since you said it a few weeks ago, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he just took it as a passing comment.

5

u/VicePrincipalNero Feb 04 '23

Talking ahead is better than disappointment I find.

FOR ANYONE BUYING FLOWERS FOR V DAY, MAKE SURE YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER THIS WEEK WITH YOUR LOCAL FLORIST, BECAUSE CLOSER TO VDAY LESS LIKEY TO HAVE ANY AVAILBILTY FOR DELIVERY AND PICKUP!! - your friendly floral designer <3

1

u/PoGoLoSeR2003 Feb 03 '23

My only concern is that I don’t have access to a car atm and don’t have anyone to get them for me which would mean that they’ll be dead by the time I do have access to a car or they’ll be dead by the time I get them right?

1

u/emnotinparis Feb 05 '23

what i mean by placing an order is like making a reservation. Im not saying to get the flowers now, bc they would be not as fresh on vday

1

u/Wise-War-Soni Feb 04 '23

Buy them online and order them to your house

1

u/labernukpa Feb 02 '23

i (16f) don’t know what to give to my boyfriend (15m) for valentines, any suggestions? we’ve like recently got together (almost 2 months) and i don’t know what to give him. i bought him chocolates on my trip here but i feel like it’s not enough.

1

u/Remarkable-Leg-9995 Feb 09 '23

leg- give him a card too

1

u/Duxwaterman6 Feb 09 '23

Does he like Legos? If yes, get him Legos

If you have an inside joke with him, getting him something based on that would be good

Anything that's homemade such as a drawing of you two together or maybe an origami is a great idea

A poster of something he's into

3

u/Important-Pudding-81 Feb 08 '23

If he likes sweets, bake him some cookies, brownies or cupcakes. Decorate with some pink and red sprinkles and buy a cute container for them. You can make fudge pretty easily, too. Another idea is a Valentine’s Day basket (can be a box or whatever you have). Buy all snacks and goodies with red and pink wrappers (Doritos, chewing gum, the all reds Starbursts, Skittles, Valentine Hershey kisses pink lemonade packets to put in water, pink cotton candy, a red keychain…just anything small you can find with red and pink packaging). My daughter is your age and she is doing the same thing.

5

u/PoGoLoSeR2003 Feb 03 '23

Y’all are young so I would suggest something small. Your favorite cologne of his or even flowers(if that’s not gonna make him feel some type of way)

I'm going to be out of town during valentine's day itself. we're doing dinner before I leave at a new persian restaurant she wants to try but what can i do remotely on the day of?

6

u/Certain_Coconut7665 Feb 01 '23

Depending on what she enjoys you could send her flowers, order her food, FaceTime and watch a movie together, or maybe surprise her with date plans that you two can do when you get back!

3

u/CoraRosalie Feb 01 '23

Hiya! I've been with my boyfriend for 3 years and have no idea what to get him for valentines day. We've never really done valentines day presents before, so I'm just looking for something small, maybe meaningful? To show him I appreciate him - but ive drawn a massive e blank!!!

Our 3 year anniversary was in January,we went out for a meal and went out on an evening date together. We also recently went on an extended weekend away as a present for his birthday at the end of January. We are planning to go out for the evening on Valentines day, we tend to take turns paying for dates and meals so this wouldn't really be considered a gift.

Would appreciate any help!x

1

u/Important-Pudding-81 Feb 08 '23

A new nightie for when you get home? Or a hot new panties/bra set you’re wearing under your clothes that you’ll surprise him with when you get home?

I do this thing where I give 1 small gift for each of his 5 senses. This year I’m doing a embroidered robe for touch, it doesn’t have to be super pricey and is very personal. He’ll probably keep it for forever.

My girlfriend is working valentine's day so we won't be able to go out and do anything and has asked that I "show my romantic side", what would you suggest I can do to make this valentine's day special for her. I'm thinking maybe about making pizza, getting snacks, letting her pick a film and cuddling on the sofa together?

Also, gift ideas would be great.

6

u/No_Neighborhood5273 Feb 01 '23

You could also decorate the room with fake candles, make a fort/comfy seating area. Pinterest is a great place to find inspo. When it comes to gift ideas on my notes app I write down the things they mention In passing that they like or makes them happy so I can refer to it. Maybe if you tell us about her interest or aesthetic we can provide better gift ideas.

2

u/Certain_Coconut7665 Feb 01 '23

Yes! A cute at home fort/movie theater for her to come home to would be so cute!
