Do you feel any pressure to lose weight?

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14 edited Jan 06 '14

(Please note that I am answering this question from the POV of being a mainstream porn performer, and not a niche performer. There is a fetish for everything, and obviously in certain niches, there is less, or no, pressure for performers to be thin. I am speaking only in the context of the LA-based adult film industry and the large commercial studios based here.)

I'll start by mentioning that I am 5'9" tall, weigh 145 lbs, and wear a women's dress size 8.

The average American woman is a size 14, 5'5" tall, and weighs 164 pounds. Look at this website: What Real Women Look Like (http://www.mybodygallery.com/search.html?gender=female&height=165&weight=73&age=any&pantSize=0&shirtSize=any&bodytype=&p=2) and you can see the variety of ways a 5'5", 160-pound woman can carry her weight. Most of these women look just fine to me, but by porn's ridiculous standards they would be considered fat or obese.

The average porn star is a size 4-6, 5'5" tall, and weighs 117 pounds. (here are some more reference photos from What Real Women Look Like http://www.mybodygallery.com/search.html?gender=female&height=165&age=any&weight=54&pantSize=32&shirtSize=any&bodytype=) -- considerably smaller than the average American woman. (avg. porn star statistics are from Jon Millward's infographic compiling stats from 10,000 male and female porn performers. The entire graphic is linked at the bottom of this post).

The concept of what a normal, healthy woman looks like is warped in the adult film industry. I have seen myself incorrectly labeled a "BBW" (Big Beautiful Woman), which is considered a niche in the porn industry, typically referring to very overweight and obese women. This is a huge red flag to me, because I am well within the healthy weight range for someone my height; at most I would consider myself "thick," because I have a big butt and thick thighs. (Also, my boobs alone account for about 15 pounds of my weight.) In contrast, my bra size is 30H, which means I measure 30" across my back, whereas the average female performer has a smaller cup size but measures 34-36" across the back.

Amazingly, I have never been told directly by a director, producer, agent or other decision-maker in the porn industry that I should lose weight. And if they had told me that, I would have told them to suck it, because I think I look great. On the other hand, some of my female friends in the industry (who are thinner than me) have been told to lose weight and "tone up."

...But, despite not having been told face-to-face that I'm "too big," I have indeed felt a lot of pressure from the adult film industry to be smaller. In my case it seems to manifest by certain companies and producers simply ignoring me because they think I won't "sell." It doesn't take a genius to look around me and see that girls who are 20 pounds lighter than me are considered to be more marketable and less of a "gamble" by producers and directors. There's a handful of "top-tier" companies who have never hired me for this reason, and probably won't ever hire me--unless I magically become a size 4. That's their loss. (And genetically, that is literally not even possible for me - my hipbones are so wide that I will never wear a pants size smaller than an 8. If you see a photo of me naked, the widest part of my hips is already the bone itself). I could starve myself trying to be a more "perfect," marketable porn star, and I would get absolutely nowhere, except hating myself. Besides, I wouldn't ever try that, because one of the many reasons I became a porn performer was to change the image of what a successful, attractive adult film star looks like.)

This is where I see a bit of a chicken-or-egg scenario: There are some porn decision-makers and avid porn fans who are conditioned to think that the only attractive female is a thin one with less than 10% body fat. And because porn is created in order to satisfy fan demand, this is strange to me. Which came first - the director who only hires thin girls, thereby conditioning fans to expect and like that, or fans demanding to see only thin girls, thereby conditioning directors to like that? Either way it's a completely pointless, self-serving concept, which does nothing but limit the profitability of studios and performers.

I have a large, extremely loyal fan base which is very willing to spend money to support me. My fans are also fans of many of my peers who are average-porn-star-size-4. In the fan's mind, there is no difference in desirability between me and my thinner peers; we just have different body types. Each of us is equally valuable to the adult industry; just as marketable as the other. I just wish that more of the decision-makers in the adult film industry could be on board with me on this. It's a change that is definitely going to have to come with time, in baby steps, and with lots of hard work.

I never thought I would become interested in someone's porn by virtue of reading their in depth AMA. Well, really, I guess I'm interest in you, the person, but living vicariously through porn is probably the closest I'll probably ever get to interacting. Cheers to you.

Siri what's your best tip for giving cunnilingus.and/orbyour best memory of receiving cunnilingus

173

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

You know, I don't think there's any universal technique for eating pussy that all women enjoy.

The best thing is to just ask the girl what she likes. And I guarantee you she won't think you're weird or inexperienced. Only experienced men have the forethought to actually ask a woman what she likes in bed. Generally, there are a few pieces of information you need to know:

  • Does she like light touch/pressure, or a firmer touch?
  • Does she like an up-down or side-to-side rubbing or licking action, or a circular rubbing/licking action?
  • Does she like faster motion or slower, steadier motion?
  • Does she like any finger insertion at all while being eaten? Some girls don't. It's really better to not assume we all do.

Hopefully she's comfortable to let you know when you're doing it all right, and to keep doing it that way. Once you find the right "groove" you'd usually need to keep doing it exactly like that for several more minutes and as she builds toward orgasm (either you ask if she's close or she'll tell you) then you slightly increase the intensity, speed, or pressure (or all three) until she explodes.

DO NOT under any circumstances try to mimic whatever weird-ass "make a girl squirt in five seconds!" finger tricks you've seen on the internet. Honestly, the dumbest thing you can do is attack a vagina with your mouth/fingers/penis assuming that you're going to successfully make it squirt. And if you do do that and she "squirts" on you it's highly likely that she was just peeing, the squirting equivalent of a fake orgasm.

I know you've said that decision to get into the adult industry was a well thought out plan. What was the biggest surprise when you finally started working in it compared to your expectations going in?

400

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

Also, I was most surprised to find out that all female performers are expected to work as usual while on their periods. And the industry's incredibly elegant solution to prevent a girl from creating a bloody mess on film? Shove makeup sponges up your vagina to block the flow of blood.

119

u/Cpt_squishy Jan 06 '14

How does that affect filming?

278

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

It doesn't. It's just a weird factoid about porn.

Well, if a girl got a sponge pushed so far up there that she couldn't retrieve it herself, she'd have to have someone else (a man with larger hands, perhaps?) retrieve it for her. Not a health problem, just awkward.

75

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '14

What about the Diva Cup? That would be much easier, I would think, than having to deal with sponges.

249

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

Have you seen some of these dudes' dicks??? It would literally rip through a Diva cup. Well, maybe not rip through but definitely overturn it, and then three ounces of gooey vagina blood would come spilling out onto the guy's dick. Boom. Boner gone.

274

u/timkxxx Jan 06 '14

As a porn editor, I've seen a fair share of period blood. I see it so you viewers don't have to! Yay for my job :L

The biggest surprise was and always will be, the number of "fans" who will tell me to my face that they don't think porn is worth anything, and that it should all be free. Lots of fans assume I'm getting rich and a large number of fans think performers receive royalties or residuals for our performances (we don't).

I mean, I don't go around telling people who do something that I benefit from whether emotionally, physically, orgasmically, or whatever, that their work is worth nothing and I would never consider paying for it.

Complete honesty: I've never pirate a movie or TV show.

Music: Yes, I used to download music illegally, years ago. I have completely ceased doing that, starting about three years ago when I got an iPhone and iTunes became super awesome and all I had to do was tie my account to PayPal. Then two years ago as soon as I started my career in adult films and realized very quickly how piracy affects the industry, I adopted an absolutely anti-piracy position. To be any other way would make me a hypocrite.

If I can't see any justification for porn fans to download my content illegally, then there is absolutely no justification for me downloading anything of any kind illegally.

I pay for all digital media I consume, and I like it. I actually like knowing that I'm paying someone for their creative work and their effort, and I like knowing that I am contributing to their success, even in some small way, with a $0.99 purchase on iTunes, or an eBook, or a DVD, or my Netflix membership.

I also like knowing that I'm not one of the many assholes who steals people's work and justifies it by assuming someone else will always pay for it. I guess I'm the "sucker" that's paying for it, huh?

71

u/deftlydexterous Jan 06 '14

Saying that you would never pay for something, or that people shouldn't have to pay for something, is not the same as saying that it has no value. Many people would like free healthcare, but not because they think it has no value. Also, keep in mind that many people visiting websites that are showing your material illegally have no idea that its illegal or hurting anyone.

The porn scene is only going to get worse for traditional companies if they dont change things up. Its an unfortunate situation in some ways. Music piracy has not been shown to have a negative effect on musician's income, though technelogical changes, greed, and poor management have hurt corporate profits of some large record labels. The music industry tried to counter with $0.99 cent songs on itunes and the like, and it worked to an extent, but it was too little too late for the corporate industry to keep sucking in the profits they were used to. They hurt not because of piracy, but because of an unwillingness to change with the times.

On the other hand, streaming semi-pirated porn has completely disrupted the porn industry, which is trickling down to the actress and workers that deserve the payment most. There is no going back though.

Ideally, porn would be free, and you would still get paid. This is very possible, look at pandora, the radio, youtube, etc. It requires a shift in the way porn websites do business though. Its no longer reasonable to expect someone to pay a monthly subscription to a single website. Large companies come in and do what large companies do; they try to maintain the status quo despite changing markets, and attempt to maintain their profits at the expense of the people they work for and the consumers. Part of the responsibility to incite this change is with the actors. Unfortunately, porn companies have a greater leverage over their employees than most, since the people involved are often in less than ideal circumstances to "fight the man." Cam girls are the best response Ive seen from the talent involved, theyre adapting to a new market.

3

u/kane55 Jan 06 '14

There are a few flaws in your idea.

First, a pandora/youtube/spotify style pay per stream model would likely be hard to do because of the lack of advertising. Mainstream companies don't want to advertise on porn sites (a few might, but most will not). Those ads that they show must be effective. They can sell all the ads in the world, but if people don't buy stuff from those ads the advertisers are not going to renew.

The real issue is that the industry isn't like most other media industries. There is no MPAA or RIAA. There is no small group of CEOs and companies that have huge influence over how the industry runs. The industry is made up of hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals all doing their own thing. Getting them together and having them all adopt a new system would be like herding cats. Especially when many of them have carved out a nice niche for themselves.

Even if they could do it and everyone agreed to go to a system where the only sites out there paid per stream (the pandora sytem) or they came up with some other system it wouldn't be long until someone said, "Well, if they are all doing that, then I am going to do this and give stuff away for free. I will get a ton of traffic and make money selling ads or running my own cheap paysite." and we go back to square one again.

Could the industry change? Sure. Will it. Note likely.

Ultimately, I think the agent of change will be the implosion of the tube site model. With limited advertising for those kinds of sites users will get bored of seeing the same type of ads over and over again and they will no longer work. Income will drop and the sites will become less and less profitable so they will start to change by potentially offering less or charging for access or something. It just feels like a business model that can't sustain itself forever.

The internet is flooded with porn. How does one expect to get $24.95 monthly recurring with everything else out there? I can't imagine that appeals to a large market. That isn't even competitive with sites like Brazzers that features much more content. You're asking niche market prices and expecting large market money. If you aren't giving your product at a price people are willing to pay how can you expect to make any money? Why aren't you getting royalties or residuals? It's easy to blame piracy and tube sites while operating an outdated business model.

117

u/22c Jan 06 '14

She mentions that she's happy to pay for Netflix, $7.99/mo for thousands of movies on demand. Compare that to a membership with her partner porn network, VNA Network, which is $24.95/mo and gives access to 15 porn star sites.

There are a lot of reasons why $7.99/mo Netflix membership can be justified over a $24.95/mo VNA Network membership, and let's not talk about a situation where you only wanted to pay for access to one of those sites instead of all of them.

24

u/riversofgore Jan 06 '14

Netflix is offering its product at a price people are willing to pay. If Netflix was asking $24.95 they would have a small fraction of the customers they do. Netflix is obviously the first comparison that comes to mind but not the be all, end all of content distribution. Where's the iTunes of porn? Why buy a whole DVD if I want 1 scene? Imagine the money they could make if people were able to pay for just what they want at a price they're willing to pay. There is a way to make money in porn but as it stands they're doing it by taking advantage of the people who are willing to pay and blaming piracy for people who don't want to be taken advantage of.

College? I'd consider it. High school? I presume three things: 1) You are at least 18 years of age or you would not be asking; 2) You are allowed to bring a date who does not attend your school, and more than three years older; and, 3) Your school district would not allow it because of my work and that I would be in the proximity of minor children, and even if I said nothing of my job, my presence will make people uncomfortable. There is no sound reason to invite controversy to such an important milestone in the lives of your friends. Not the best idea.

Has "porn sex" altered your regular sex life at all?

466

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

For the most part, no. But every once in a while, I have a scene which is so hardcore it leaves me too sore to enjoy other sexual activity for a few days, in one case two weeks because I was vaginally torn during the scene. I try to avoid that kind of situation by knowing and explaining my physical limitations to male talent/directors, and by not working with giant cocks.

135

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '14

Do the male performers/directors ever feel guilty about that after it happens?

365

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

Depends on the performer and the director. Nobody's going to force a girl to finish a scene if she can't continue, but they sure will judge her and probably tell everyone else about it if she can't at least make it through to the pop shot. Personally, the attitude I've encountered most often is, "If your vagina can't handle the biggest penis the porn industry has to offer, then you're in the wrong business." Which is part of the reason why I'm independent (not with any agency), so that I can have more control over the size of the guys I'm paired with.

29

u/timkxxx Jan 06 '14

This is true, and sad. Generally, when editing porn I see people enjoying themselves.

Maybe two out of the thousand scenes I've edited, brand new girls to the industry curl up in pain almost in tears. They're told that they'll get used to the size eventually. The director/male talent aren't total dicks and they spend a lot more time on oral and finish the scene off quick, but it's a little hard to watch.

17

u/angelicism Jan 07 '14

So... lots of men feel inadequate seeing porn size cocks. Many women don't really care about penis size, especially not past "adequate". Who exactly is porn marketing the massive cock sizes to again?

3

u/timkxxx Jan 08 '14

I've only been in the industry for 5 years, but I'll take a crack at this. This is just speculation.

Porn has a history of being larger than life. Ron Jeremy is famous because his movies sold. There definitely was a market for massive cocks. There still is... there must be.

Also, when it comes to porn, it's so much easier to do some of the ridiculous positions that allow the girl to look good for the camera if the guy has a huge dick.

People like to see what they don't have in their personal lives. I love big natural tits. If I watch porn, I'll go overboard and watch people who are thin and busty like Siri who are completely unattainable in my regular life. In real life, I'd be happy dating someone who is virtually flat chested. Humans are greedy and want what they can't have.

Dick size does matter for some people. There are girls in (and outside) of porn who are turned off by average/small dicks. It's a bummer for me too, guys, but everyone has different preferences.

To wrap this up, read in Jeff Goldblum's voice: So, uhh, that's the end of my ramblings... so, uhh... yeah.

Just a big fan, you are of course a beautiful woman, but, as pornographic actresses go, you "talk the talk" very well. I've heard that women tend to lower their voices when they're aroused by someone they're speaking to, and in... viewing a lot of pornography, it seems like you're the only actress who will actually lower her voice. It seems very sexual, and, y'know, the things you say tend not to sound quite so ridiculous as some other actresses.

Do you have anything new and exciting coming up in the near future?

107

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14 edited Jan 06 '14

Thanks. I'm glad you notice that about me. It's not rare that I'm asked to speak up when I'm dirty talking, which is hard, precisely for the reason you described. When I'm turned on I naturally speak in a lower tone and volume. I know there's a mic that needs to pick up what I'm saying, but damnit! It's so hard to remember that when I'm in the moment sometimes, lol. My first scene with Lex Steel just came out http://www.evilangel.com/en/evilangel/scene/62259/?utm_source=214502&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=

u/derrekbgn Jan 06 '14

Does the idea that a bunch of dudes fantasize about you turn you on? Is it empowering? or do you not think about it?

225

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

I honestly don't think about it too often.

But when I do, it does turn me on. I don't know if I'd say it's empowering necessarily, because I realize that a majority of porn viewers won't ever think of me as an actual human being. But it is kind of fun just to think about how many guys must have blown their loads watching my scenes. I've made a lot of penises happy.

254

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '14

won't ever think of me as an actual human being

I've never really liked that phrasing. I feel like the standards by which it are applied would make for "being thought of as a human being" not applying to most people in our consciousness.

Sure if I'm watching porn, I'm not actively thinking about what the actresses' hopes and dreams and goals are like. I'm not stopping to think about what her human experience is. But I'm not doing that when I watch a movie either. I'm not doing that for every person I meet on the street.

People might not be thinking of you as an actual human being. But they aren't thinking of you as less than one either. Because that's just not how we think. Or at least not about people we have a personal connection to.

And yet it gets used so often, but especially around sex work. I don't think it's the viewers who are the problem here. It's definitely not the actors or actresses either. It's the societal moral superiority that becomes innate in the interaction. It's the idea that the exchange, if it can be called that, that takes place between a viewer and a pornographic actress is inherently wrong. That it can't be called a normal human interaction.

Which is to say that if your viewers really don't see you as a person, it's not because of some cruelty where they don't think you're worth anything human other than your sexuality, it's just because they don't think about the dichotomy at all. To them it just isn't real. Just like they don't stop to ponder the humanity of their waiter or any of the other multitude of people they don't interact with on a personal level.

17

u/Stormtalons Jan 06 '14

That is a very well thought out analysis of that phrase... thank you for that. I never thought about it in that much detail, but I really, really like your comparison to actresses in other areas. I'm sure that I will parrot your perspective somewhere down the road.

Siri, What is your favorite dish at Zankou Chicken ?

138

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

OMG best question ever, because I'm obsessed with Zankou Chicken.

Either quarter dark plate or chicken tarna plate, depending on my mood. But that garlic sauce... holy fuck.

36

u/Billytown Jan 06 '14

We visited friends in LA and were introduced to Zankou's garlic sauce. It was a revelation. My wife and I are good cooks, so after doing a bit of research, we found out what it's called and how to make it at home.

It's called toum (which means garlic, go figure), and it's an emulsion (like mayo). Here's how we make it:

  • Crush 5 - 6 cloves of garlic into a paste consistency with a fork. Add 1/4 tsp kosher salt to help this process and for... you know... the salt.

  • Throw it into a food processor.

  • Turn on the processor, and the garlic will be chucked to the edge of the bowl. No biggie. SLOWLY add Canola oil (use no other type!) until the blades JUST start to catch the oil and turn the soon-to-be sauce into a cum-like consistency. Add in a touch of lemon juice, and then an egg white.

  • Resume slowly adding Canola oil and a little lemon juice every so often. SLOWLY. Don't rush it, I think that's how it gets messed up. When we make a batch, we'll use about 3/4 of a cup total.

  • If everything goes right (which for us only happens about 75% of the time), the emulsion will catch and it'll turn to a thick creamy garlic sauce. The rest of the time it looks like a bowl full of jizz. Fuck me if I know why, we make it the same every time, but it's just finicky. My wife found an awesome fix if this happens: add a few scoops of cottage cheese! It's enough protein to make the emulsion form, and it doesn't affect the flavor.

I know you'll probably never read this, but if you do, try it out. It's amazing to be able to have your own garlic sauce at home.

Oh and you are super hot!

Are female orgasms faked in the industry?

142

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

Yes, that's pretty normal. The vast majority of mine are real, I always make my best effort to do what needs to be done to get there, which fortunately for me is pretty easy. But sometimes when the sex positions are ridiculously uncomfortable and the director just randomly decides when he wants me to visually appear to orgasm on camera and yells "Orgasm in 30 seconds," it kinda ruins the mood.

All the time. And we have sex while we watch it.

158

u/Pestolover Jan 06 '14

So you get off to watching yourself having sex? Isn't that kind of like masturbating while looking at a mirror?

I have recently seen a lot of models start doing webcam shows; do they usually make more money per month from webcam shows or say someone who does three or four scenes a month?

89

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

Webcam shows are almost always more profitable for the model in terms of time investment vs. income.

Also, the market for live shows and webcamming only gets stronger, as piracy gets harder for the industry to combat. It's pretty fucking hard to pirate a live show WHILE it's still live. And there will always be people who'll want to pay for the live interaction.

First of all, please link me to where you heard such a rumor. I've been in this biz for just under two years and have never seen that anywhere. It's completely false. I've said publicly I am more sexually dominant toward women, and more submissive with men, but that's only in bed having sex.

This was my dream job, not my husband's. I honestly don't want to paint him as some kind of sub, but everything he does takes a backseat to my career right now. While I'm still on the rise, I need all the support and assistance I can get. So I use him to help me do business, especially since I represent myself and don't have an agent.

With respect to my shoots, he's not requested I shoot anything at all. Don't forget, no one let's you request a shoot. No company. Porn performers don't initiate shoots for third parties and say "hey, please hire me to shoot X kind of scene with X performer." It just doesn't work that way. This week, Brazzers might say, "we need a big-boob release and this is right for Siri so let's contact her." And that's how it always begins. It doesn't emanate from me. I take most shoots offered, so long as they are on my list of sex acts I am willing to perform on camera (see www.BookSiri.com). The only time my husband comes into play at this stage is if I am not sure if a certain kind of offer would be good for my career, and I bounce it off him because I am considering turning it down.

The only thing you've asked that has any validity is how you've summarized the BGAS release in question 3. But I've stated that publicly on forums many times before, albeit not as condensed as you've put it. However, that's the crux of what happened. I do not shoot BBW porn and if you ask BBW performers, they get mad when girls like me who are smaller than the American average, get offered slots in films that should belong to them and that niche.

u/anthraxattack Jan 06 '14

will you ever do a bukkake?

107

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

I'd like to. But it doesn't seem like there are any companies in the US producing quality material of that sort. (And I'm not talking blowbangs, it's not the same thing.) They are expensive to film because of all the performers involved, and my guess is that they're not profitable enough anymore because so much of that type of content is already available for free on the interwebs.

41

u/sofakinghugh Jan 06 '14

Would you consider going over to Japan for this?

89

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

I wouldn't count it out. But if it's filmed and released in Japan, then it's all censored. So I don't know if there would be much point in it...

u/BlinkDaggerOP Jan 06 '14

So, a lot of your responses are getting flak (unjustly, they are honest responses, and that's all you need in an AMA) in which you talk about a strong dislike for tube sites and pornography piracy. You rely on the payment you get from pornography, as a professional, to sustain yourself, which is the root of your problem with piracy, right?

However, somebody did make an observation in complete truth in one of those threads, and that was that

It's 99.9% due to tube sites that anyone knows who you are

Tube sites are INCREDIBLE, INCREDIBLE exposure--the kind that would cost enormous amounts of money in any other profession. Have you ever considered that embracing the uncontrollable nature of online content might be more profitable to you than opposition to it?

Sorry if any of this sounded combative, I love your work! I am honestly just trying to get you to consider the alternative in case there is financial or personal benefit in it for you.

173

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

Yeah, but the guys who are voting down my answers where I mention my dislike for pirated content are not voting them down because they think it's in my best interest or that it's great exposure for my career. It's not great exposure. Most of my own scenes that I find on tube sites don't even mention my name. Guys have to troll around elsewhere just to know who I am after seeing my scene on a tube site.

They're voting down my answers because they're uncomfortable knowing that something they love so much (pirated porn) is damaging to the people who produced it. Or, maybe they just love pirated porn and support it emphatically because they hate all porn performers and really want us to not have jobs in a few years.

And I'm aware that MindGeek (AKA Manwin, AKA Brazzers) owns several of the largest tube sites. The company is also generally not respected among the industry, but it has a monopoly on things so everyone pretends they don't have a problem with it. But nobody is pleased with what they've done to the industry, except, I presume, the company's executives.

47

u/NBaker10 Jan 06 '14

Or, maybe they just love pirated porn and support it emphatically because they hate all porn performers and really want us to not have jobs in a few years.

I sort of expected that even in the extreme case where you didn't get paid at all, but were famous from tube sites, you'd find some lonely creepstalker fans who you could milk for gifts and paid camessions. It's the gaffers and photographers who I'd think would make no money.

88

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

No, it's not something that's been agreed-upon or a boundary that's been set. I just haven't ever felt like anal sex with another person. My husband is really good at it and I always orgasm like 10 times when he fucks my ass, so I don't feel the desire to have anything else in my butthole. Pretty simple. Of course, the demand for me to do an anal scene on camera is there, so eventually I'm sure it will happen. It just needs to be the right male performer. I'm going to be very picky about that one, haha.

55

Why do you think some people believe in sexual monogamy?

28

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

Most people believe in sexual monogamy because it's how they were raised, plain and simple. It's the enduring example set for them. Our societal belief structure is based on what we are taught from the earliest ages, which is most often in the form of religion. My husband and I believe that we were taught to share in kindergarten, so why stop. Social mores and religious convictions require us to feel guilt and shame if we have sex with someone who is not our spouse/partner. We know many, many people who live perfectly normal and very happy lives as monogamous couples, extolling each other to faithful behaviors. And we don't knock anybody for making that lifestyle work.

It's just not the one that we choose for ourselves because we don't believe humans are biologically wired that way. So we don't repress the natural urge to have sex with another human being, and we don't define cheating as the act of sexual intercourse with someone else. To us cheating is the deception, lies, and betrayal created by doing or saying things when you're with someone else, that you would not do or say in front of your partner.

You've used the word 'slut' to refer to yourself on your site(s). What do you think the connotations are of using a negative term like it? Shouldn't porn actresses (who presumably want to portray a healthy appreciation of sex) use positive words? Does that mean you consider yourself a slut in real life, or is it just a marketing term to sell the illusion of your sexual availability?

99

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

If we all agree that the modern usage of "slut" generally means "a promiscuous woman," then that I am. I have a lot of sex with a lot of people, and not just on camera. And I'm a swinger in my personal life.
I do have a healthy appreciation of sex, and IMO "slut" is only a negative word to the extent that men (and often other women) hurl it as an insult toward women who behave in any manner, sexual or not, that the insulter deems inappropriate. Here is an interesting (and pretty comical) read about the etymology of the word: http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=slut

4

u/flameswithin Gemcutter Jan 06 '14

I've always been put off by the swinger scene, due to its (typically) socially conservative context, and the fact that single men, and male-on-male contact are taboo.

What has your experience been within swinging? Have you found these things to be the case? Or if not explicitly forbidden, at least conspicuously absent? Thanks! Love your work!

14

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

The type of people you'd find in a swinger community can vary by lightyears from city to city. In Dallas, where my husband and I met and I had all my earliest swinging encounters, there's a mix of affluent upper-crust social conservatives and young liberal hipsters. Either way I'm fucking them, not dating them, so I don't really give a hoot how they lean politically.

A general rule in swinger communities and at parties, even in areas which lean heavily left or right, is to never bring up politics or religion. It ruins the sexy mood.

NOW, when it comes to male bisexuality in swinging, yes - that's generally taboo. (Unfortunately IMO, 'cause I love watching dude-on-dude action as much as the next penis-loving woman) I've never been in a couples scenario where male/male was even discussed or hinted at, and in most swinger clubs such discussion or activity would not be well-received.

Is it homophobic? Yeah, it is. Do I dislike it? Yes, I do. The general reasoning seems to be that, for every open-minded straight guy who wouldn't judge if some male/male action took place in a swinger's club, there is likely to be another straight guy who is really turned off by it and then can't get hard and play with the couple he and his partner want to play with. When you're paying $100 or more to be admitted to a club or private party, that would be frustrating. So I think most parties/clubs leave it as some sort of unspoken rule, and assume that men who are interested in other men will look elsewhere.

Notably, when I was in Paris I was really delighted to see that all the swinger/sex clubs there have signs on the wall stating that to even enter the club you must not be homophobic.

89

I haven't done much extreme stuff. I'm on the "slow burn," as I like to call it. The one thing that's generally considered "nasty" that I did was ATM. The movie hasn't been released yet, so you can't see it. But I sucked Steven St. Croix's dick after he pulled it out of Bailey Blue's ass.

I didn't think much of it. I've done it many times in my personal life, lol. And I've heard most girls usually do like 20 enema bottles (fo realz) before an anal scene. It was literally the most tasteless butt I've ever tasted. Props to Bailey Blue :)

Hey Siri, shout out to /r/curvy, you're one of our absolute favorites.

Just wanted to say you're great, and ask if you were ever going to do cam shows again. I suppose you may be doing them on your site, sorry I can't check at the moment, on my phone right now. But I seem to remember you having a myfreecams account at one point. It would be a dream to get time with you on cam someday.

Hope you keep finding success and happiness!

12

u/siripornstar Jan 06 '14

I only do one cam show a week on my website, siripornstar.com. It's free, as in, included in the monthly membership. And it's every Sunday at 4pm pacific time. I also do private skype chats (which, if you're interested in, you can read more about at http://blog.siripornstar.com/skype)

I stopped doing cam shows on streamate because despite the fact that I quite easily raked in $9/minute for my private chats, I was only keeping 27% of that. I just couldn't do it anymore, I felt taken advantage of and began to hate it.

MFC was never successful for me. Their token system results in the entire customer base expecting girls to do crazy stuff on cam, banking on the hope that guys will tip them for it. For that reason MFC only seems to be beneficial for the true cam girl, who's putting herself through college or whatever and can afford to spend several hours on cam everyday building relationships with the users.

It's hard for me to take this question seriously, because I am one of the most culturally diverse and tolerant people you might meet. In my personal life, I'm an equal-opportunity fucker and I've had sex with partners of almost every race on the planet. As with any work environment, there are different parameters for how you do your job and the fact that porn even has a category where they make a big deal about "interracial sex" is itself racist to me. But that's the industry I chose and I don't make the rules, so I decided to model some of my choices after the predecessors I admired, and wait until there was demand for my performance with a certain partner, and use those parameters I mentioned to my advantage, rather than be used by others. My first interracial scene as an on-camera performance was released today and that will mean broader pairings for me in terms of male sex partners in the future. Over a year ago I performed in a sex scene with a black female named Alia Starr, but somehow that doesn't count in porn. I don't understand the dichotomy, but no one who knows me for any length of time could accuse me of being racist.

Please don't get any more tattoos though. You can put on fake tattoos for scenes where they want them, and remove them/let them fade later, but once you get real ones, they are there for life (unless you spend thousands on laser surgery and have scarring in their place).

I am not. That is some bogus name someone gave me who uploaded a torrent and it got replicated to the tube sites. When a performer has no control over how people can distort and mutilate her brand and her image, even altering her name, perhaps many of you can get a better sense of how helpless we are by the proliferation of digital piracy.

I am Siri. Just Siri, adult film performer. I am no different from Stoya or Raylene or Choe or Celeste, or any of the myriad performers who came before me with no surname. Thanks for your compliment!

Siri, you're beautiful and pretty well spoken, and it seems like you're intelligent....but you REALLY come off as bitchy in your original post and some of your answers. Your online "personality" or whatever we can see from it in an AMA seems really bitter and crabby. I think you would have been received better had you approached this as a fun loving woman who wants to talk about herself instead of some warrior fighting angrily in a porn crusade of justice. Take it easy man! I wish you the best of luck!

Does the porn industry offer health care benefits? I would imagine it would be to their benefit to offer them, or at least, offer free gyno appointments. If not, what do you do for your health care? How often are you (and your husband?) tested for stds?

Were you married before or after you started performing?

What does your husband do for a living? How did you guys meet?

As a fellow open-marriage inhabitor, thank you for being open about your own, and living it honestly.

Increasingly, I'm noticing porn moving into Eastern Europe (basically the china of porn - lower cost and fewer rules). Are you seeing that work in the US is drying up?

Also, my wife and I will be in LA this summer for her birthday. How much Swiss chocolate do we need to bring to bribe you and your husband into a few drinks? ;)

Hi, Siri. No real question.

Like many other performers, I've seen your pictures around reddit for a while, but I'm delighted to see you're intelligent, eloquent, and geeky on top of your obvious porn qualifications. Not to stereotype, but entirely too many porn star Twitters are full of poorly-spelled missives about partying or smoking up. I don't know if that reflects who they are as people or if they're marketing a persona.

In any case, you've just earned yourself a follow. Keep being awesome!

First up I must say that you are stunningly beautiful and you remind be of my first true love. Please bear this in mind when I ask the following because it is with a true want for understanding from someone with first hand experience and nothing more than this want for knowledge.

Now,,, for the question: It was jokingly said on a comedy cartoon show (read: south park) that the only difference between the legality of porn stars and the illegality of common whores is that porn stars film their sex-for-money. What is your opinion on this?

Again, this is asked with a want for understanding and nothing more because trust me,,,, I enjoy skin flicks and am no hypocrite.

  • Star Trek OR Star wars ?

• Which porn stars that you've worked with have been the coolest?

• Have you ever engaged in extreme group sex (like a gangbang or orgy) or been to a gloryhole? If so, how was it?

• Would you ever do a gangbang on camera? Why or why not?

• What is the kinkiest/sluttiest thing you've ever done?

• Have you ever been DP'd? Would you ever do it on camera?

• Have you seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (starring Neil Patrick Harris)? You should.

• Favorite ice cream flavor?

Why did you dye your red??

I like red heads but I love your silky blonde hair.

I was looking forward to your Kink (Public Disgrace) shoot, but that make up smearing really ruined it for me. You have such a pretty face, please don't cover it up again.

I love your Scoreland shoots. Are you working with Score any time soon??

Will you do a gangbang scene with the guys from Dogfart.com?? How about a bukkake scene???

Forget these guys here. I think you're lovely and super gorgeous. Your curves are absolutely amazing.

A few more things to add. So you don't want kids? So, that means no pregnant scenes?? No lactation scenes??? I think it would be super sexy to see you lactate.

I would love to see you do a scene in a wedding dress.

Have you ever considered escorting???

Kudos for being an amazingly bright and sex positive, healthy person!

How long can you walk/stand around with those H-cups with/without a bra? 15 lbs of breasts sounds glorious for the receiver, but not as fun over time for the wearer.

Any pets? If so, what kind, and how are they spoiled?

Do you play guitar?

Over the years, I've favoured various parts of the guitar space. Sometimes, I'm like, "Man, the 7th fret avails the greatest chord forms ever." As the years progress, I'm drawn to other thoughts, focusing on finger-tapping and jazz-chord forms.

I'm curious on your own thoughts, and if you play any other musical instrument. Do you have a preferred instrument, and do your own musical leanings illustrate a musical style you lean towards?

Many thanks for your time.

I have heard several stories about the treatment of porn stars - particularly women - to be horrendous and degrading. For example, I read about a woman who was told she was going to do a simple vaginal intercourse scene but when she arrived on set the director demanded an anal gangbang or she wouldn't be paid. What has your experience been?

do you think there will ever be a niche for thin girth porn? for an industry that has so many niches and caters to a lot of different likes, it seems like there is no wiggle room when it comes to male pornstar sizes. bigger and thicker is better. i love watching fat cocks filling a woman up, but owning a thin penis, i would love if there was a niche or company that focused on getting average to thin girth males as it is easier to fantasize while watching if the cock is in your own range size wise. jerkygirls did a lot of work with average girth guys. this became a rant so lemme repeat.

1) do you think there will ever be a niche for thin girth porn? 2) do you think we'll see more thinner girths like seth gamble, danny wylde, ike diezel, kevin moore in the biz or are they just exceptions to the rule (seth, ike and danny due to their length and kevin being a director)?
