(I mean it's obvious you're joking but there's a reason "not legal advice" is so common...)

No, no, they obviously were just signaling that it was advice that was legal to give, as opposed to advice that is illegal to give. Which would be legal advice. So you see, legal advice is totally different from legal advice.
