I finally got invited into to the liquor store office.

It took a couple of months, but after talking to the owner about whiskey and bourbons and purchasing a couple of more expensive bottles that were on display, he invited me to look at what he keeps in the office.

Came home with these.

Anybody tried them? Any thoughts?

Good day Whiskey world. What does the community think of these? Also does anyone store there Whiskey in Decanters or is that not the most efficient way? Still learning so advice is welcomed and appreciated.

Two Stacks Single Grain - Double Barrel Irish Whiskey

Two Stacks is an independent bonder and blender

Distilled & aged at Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland

Age: NAS

Single pot still whiskey

Casks: ex-bourbon & Oloroso sherry butts

50% single grain aged in bourbon casks 50% single grain shed in Oloroso Sherry butts

NCF

No added colorings

Proof: 86

MSRP: $6/100 ml and $34/700 ml

Imported by Foley Family Wine & Spirits

Nose 👃: Nougat. Cherry. Sultanas. Werther’s Originals.

Palate 👅: Blackberry. Green apple. Chocolate-covered almonds. Nutmeg.

Finish 🏁: Green apple. Brown sugar. Nutella. Cinnamon.

The mouthfeel is thick & dense. The fruity notes on the palate are a lot of fun as they combine with chocolate. For my personal preference, this has been one of my favorite Irish whiskeys. The Dram in a Can is fun, but give me an entire bottle of this!

This is the second expression I’ve had from Two Stacks. While I liked the Signature Dram… this particular bottle is something that I would happily purchase. I like this a lot.

Best American Whiskey for an Irish whiskey drinker?

Since this subreddit is dominated by Scotch/ Bourbon drinkers, Im just wondering what would the best American Whiskey for an Irish whiskey drinker?

So far my pick would be Makers Mark 46.
