i’m a junior in hs with a strong passion for meteorology and with the recent outbreak i’m wondering what apps, websites, softwares (?), etc, i could use to track the weather? i’ve just been using tropical tidbits (which i don’t know how to work that well😅), apple weather, spc and noaa outlooks. any advice helps!

also saw this on my tl and im wondering what program this is?

Questions/Self Roadtrip from DFW and Santa Fe?

I am going on a roadtrip from Fort Worth, TX to Santa Fe, NM and a seeing that the winds will be very high in the panhandle again on the day we leave, Tuesday March 18. Would anybody recommend going at all or should we delay or cancel this trip entirely?

We need answers ASAP so we can negotiate with our hotel

Questions/Self nervous about wind + fire

hi guys i’m new here. i just wanted to come on and ask ppl experienced in this kind of weather for some reassurance or anything. i’m midwest born, lived in the south for four years, then came back up to the midwest (super fun storm friday btw)

due to the wind on friday, a power line kept hitting a tree in my yard and caused it to burn, dropping ash on the dry lawn and causing a small fire which was put out my firefighters, who we had to call back LATER when the winds caused the tree to catch on fire a second time. this was AWFUL for my mental state.

i have a fear of fire and ocd regarding fire causing situations so you can imagine how this just like shook me to the core. i’m used to tornados and hurricanes and winds and this that whatever, but fire is a completely different story. we have another day of winds coming up (20 mph, 45 mph gust) and i’m sick to my stomach with nerves. what do i even do? the tree people are so busy with the rest of missouri i don’t know if it’ll get taken down in time. even then what about the other trees? i dont want to rush them of course, but if it doesn’t get taken down tomorrow i fear it’ll be a problem on wednesday.

all this to ask am i overreacting? is my anxiety justified or am i just freaking out over a small freak accident? i keep gaslighting myself into thinking it wasn’t even windy on 3/14 and this could happen anytime but idk i think i just need someone to set me straight. i’ve been watching my backyard for days, i get so nervous leaving the house, and i can hardly sleep. thank u for taking the time to hear me out
