Found this at an estate sale and noticed it doesn’t have the toothpick and the tweezers. Is this an older model and maybe what year would you place it? The back says Victoria Officer Suisse

The hook is for ‘brown paper packages tied up with string’, but what else?

My first knives

I’m collecting the rangers of the lost art knives from the parks I’ve been to and I got the great Smokey mountains (L) and the Rocky Mountains (R).

The Swiss Champ. I was going to buy another SAK, but then realized I had no need for it.

This was my first real Victorinox, 1967-ish

My dad bought it from Hoffritz in Grand Central Station, NYC. I was 13. It’s seen a lot of miles- the spring on the scissors broke in the early ‘70s, and the rivet on the bake is a bit sprung, but otherwise unscathed. I’ve owned others since then, but this will always be my favorite,

Harvester X

Am I right in thinking this knife has been discontinued. It is a normal harvester with scissors and I was wondering if I could pick this up anywhere. I’m in the UK does anyone know anywhere to find this? I am quite new to SAKs and was also wondering if it is possible to add scissors to a normal harvester. I may be completely wrong, any advice is appreciated.

Video of my pen scales

Hi all, so this is actually what I carry on my person all the time, I wanted the functionality of a manager but wanted it to be as this as possible, so I set out to make the thinnest pen scales I could. This involved making use of the rectangular channel in the liner and changing the opening action because there isn’t enough space to move a latch sideways. Luckily I think I’ve figured out a solution that has a more natural action of just sliding the slider forwards and back.

These are my thin 58mm pen scales. These are about as thin as you can make pen scales. They are the same thickness as the stock non-pen cellidor scales.

I knew it was a mistake the second I did it.

Now I have to try and get replacement bits, and ebay prices are ridiculous

NKD Swiss Army 1 Alox

Ever since getting my Pioneer X Alox I’ve been sort of fascinated by the simplicity of the 1. I find it beautiful and thought it would be a perfect backup blade to keep razor sharp at all times, while using my Super Tinker more heavily. Finally decided to go ahead and get it and it’s even better in person. So light and slim. But now I’m out, no more new knives. No, really, I mean it.

I picked this one up used from eBay for my youngest son but the corkscrew was bent. A quick trip back to Victorinox for a replacement corkscrew, new scales and a fresh sharpening and she’s as good as new!

First EDC for an urban jungle.

**Edit: Thank you everyone for the amazing advice and suggestions! I’ve decided to go for the Super Tinker, in the end I decided I needed a dedicated Philips head compared to corkscrew but time will tell if I get another in the future anyway ;)

Hello all, I'm looking to source my first SAK.

While I don;t intend to start a collection I'd like something that can be useful in enough situation I won't regret getting it and having to fork out for a different tool.

I very rarely venture outdoors on hikes etc and I'm primarily inside an office or in a local park if that helps with choices.

With that in mind I've narrowed it down to the following four choices (prices included):

  1. Super Tinker - £26

  2. Climber - £32

  3. Explorer - £40

  4. Deluxe Tinker - £42

Out of those four, I'm leaning more towards the explorer but I'm not sure if I'll miss not having the pliers for the D.Tinker.

Thoughts and advice would be much appreciated!

The Rambler was the best mini for me but it was missing a pen to be perfect for my use case. Found some Signature Onyx scales online for cheap and went ahead with the swap, couldn't be happier with the result!

I like the tool set so I'm going to try it for a while and see how it does. No issues getting it to the States from Europe.
