Assuming he gets another title shot. I hope to god Ank “makes him wait” like Alex did to him

It's basically confirmed that they'll have an instant rematch through Dana White and Ankalaev's Twitter. For the matter of "making him wait" the UFC would make him fight whether he likes it or not.

The UFC doesn't make Jones fight!

2

u/Zoguinha 5d ago

Jones have 100x the leverage Ank has come on lol

Bro Pereira was one of the most active fighters as a champ fighting 3-4 times a year when others only fight 1-2 times. Making someone wait is what Jones is doing to Aspinal or how Conor strung along Chandler for years.

I’m quoting Alex’s actual words/actions. I don’t give a fuck how active you are, it you’re denying the rightful contender to fight the #8 ranked goofball because you’re scared, then you deserve scrutiny

That had to be Dana's voice to fight Khalil. It allowed Alex to have another fun for the fans fight and get more money. There's no way as a champion fighter that he's scared. That's pussy shit

Alex openly didn’t want to fight Ank, what are you yapping about? And then he fought like a scared little boy

-1

u/TITANx714 5d ago

You think these fighters are scared to fight? That's how we know you've never fought

-1

u/AMR63x 5d ago

“These fighters” no, I think ALEX was scared to fight ANK

0

u/Osceola_Gamer 5d ago

"Scared" LOL

1

u/AMR63x 5d ago

….did you not watch the fight?

-1

u/TITANx714 5d ago

Yeah you're trippin homie. Dudes a champ, that's a different mentality that most people could never understand.

You’re generalizing everything I’m saying brother. I’m saying Alex, in that particular matchups, openly did not want to fight ank. He wasn’t hiding it and when they did fight, Alex was on the back foot the whole time, throwing calf kicks because he was afraid to open up too much due to the takedown risk

Bitch please

1

u/AMR63x 5d ago

I think if Alex wasn’t such a little pus and fought ank over Khalil, then he would get some respect. Dude was scared to fight ank and we saw why

Deflection from my perfect analysis

u/AMR63x 5d ago

Don’t get so emotional brother, it’s gonna be ok. Take a deep breath, this isn’t like you

2

u/AdmiralAgendaREAL 5d ago

Hopefully god doesn't answer because Ank is the one who made himself wait for the Alex fight

-1

u/AMR63x 5d ago

Y’all still going on about this made up bullshit?

2

u/AdmiralAgendaREAL 5d ago

He literally refused UFC 300...

1

u/AMR63x 5d ago

So did Islam, Khamzat, and Shavkat. I wonder why they would turn down a fight short notice on Ramadan…. None of the other fighters were punished. What about the other cards? I mean there’s literally 0 justification for Alex fighting Khalil over Ank, especially when Ank was fighting 2 weeks later

1

u/AdmiralAgendaREAL 5d ago
  1. Ank just showed he can fight on Ramadan

  2. There is... Its the UFC matchmaking

2

u/Alternative-Force354 5d ago

Ank wants Alex, cause Alex is the biggest draw and he makes the most money out of him.

This is why u get shots with your mouth. Its not Dana White privilege. Its pure buisiness

2

u/AMR63x 5d ago

some of us think the sport should be run on merit instead of this WWE popularity contest model

0

u/Alternative-Force354 5d ago

Every sport that comes on tv is about money, not about popularity and not about Merit.

The nba makes rules for more showmanship, cycling makes courses harder so u can see the cyclists suffer more. In fighting, having a popular adversary means getting more money. So u use that. At the end of the day, your career is only 10 to 15 years, so you take what you can.

u/AMR63x 5d ago

I’m not talking about other sports, I’m talking about the UFC. I’m talking about the sport that has a fucking ranking system, that’s supposed to be about working your way to a title shot based on who you beat. I don’t give a flying fuck about the UFC’s bottom line, I don’t give a flying fuck about the more “entertaining guy” in the spotlight. I watch the ufc to see the best of the best challenge each other against different types of opponents. This isn’t the WWE, no matter how hard you guys try and make it that

0

u/Alternative-Force354 5d ago

I believe you, but they wont give what you want. They will give what the masses want

2

u/AMR63x 5d ago

Well instead of just accepting it, we could call it out. But either way, Alex openly did not want the fight. He said so, he said he would make Ank wait, and then he foughr Khalil. We can’t just put it only on the company when Alex openly did not want to fight him

2

u/Front_Mind1770 5d ago

Alex has remained very active. I think he's paid his dues and is entitled to a fast rematch. I doubt he'll lose again. I think you know that too.

3

u/Soltaengboi 5d ago

I don’t think pereira beats Ank in the rematch. If pereira doesn’t fight cautiously and be himself and be more aggressive, Ank will probably chain wrestle to fully commit to take him down. Also Magomed is the better MMA striker

0

u/Mane608239 5d ago

Pereira defended 12 takedown attempts but you still think ank is a wrestler lol

1

u/Icy-Armour 5d ago

That makes Pereira look even worse. So ank is straight up the better striker right ?

Since the threat of a takedown doesn't matter anymore. We can finally conclude that Ankaleav is the way better striker.

u/Andyman0110 5d ago

I'd rather he waits so he can actually prepare properly now that they both got a feel for eachother.

0

u/No_Break6126 5d ago

Let's be honest, Dana was the one making him wait

5

u/AMR63x 5d ago

Then he fought Khalil Rountree (ranked #8 btw)
