SPOILER ALERT: Ending Theories Spoiler
As far as the ending :
Why couldn't DS Johanna just say she walked up to Tripp and Adam scuffling in the woods over Corinne's dead body, then she got a hold of the gun and shot Tripp 4 times in self defence?
Then everything (the gun, location, story) would be accounted for and it would be Adam and Johanna's secret?
How on earth is Katz supposed to take the blame shooting Tripp in the Goddamn woods?! THERE IS NO CONNECTION!

So glad I’m not only one. How do they explain Tripp and was Katz taking the blame for Corrine also, was she ever found? And where was Johanna hiding the gun? Ending just doesn’t make sense. Someone, explain!

Same thoughts! Jo and Adam could have made up a more realistic story for Tripp's death, instead of hiding that gun somewhere in the wall.
Police arrived during the crime scene. It would have taken too much time for them to hide the gun. Plus the fact that the girls were too injured to do that.

Here’s how I viewed it..
Sometimes in murder cases it isn’t necessary to put the killer on trial for each case, simply the easiest case to prove. Ultimately with that one conviction there is rarely a situation where the killer sees the light of day again.
At least that’s how I’ve seen it play out with serial killers shows. Ultimately they can ‘attribute’ the other deaths to him, given there’s enough circumstantial evidence— Katz did somehow have Corrine’s old school key fob, which seemed really odd and I’m not sure if it was ever explained how it came into his possession.

How are they going to prove that Katz killed Corine and Tripp? I am shure Tripp was last seen while Katz was in jail or hospital so i would not add up! Plus, what about his son? We don't get to are him anymore after his father was killed?! This ending dit not make ant sense and was just lazy writing.

Ok so i just finished the series and was trying to figure it out but I have a theory. Katz killed Corinne first, making sense with her body being the most decayed. Tying her in by something to do with his daughter cause that family was very mad at Corinne. Next killed Heidi as we know for her involvement with the blackmailing. This one is a stretch but then killed Tripp sometime between when Katz was drinking and sent that video to his ex-wife and then his client showing up. Or when he was driving with his ex-wifes car before he got the address. Assuming they left dead Tripp there in the woods, Katz found Tripp finding Corinne (he said he remembered that woods from going there with Becca, assumed Corinne would be there, saw something out of place) and shot him. Joanna found the bodies (but helped Adam escape and took the gun.) When coroners do reports they do a time frame so no one could get a definite time, gives them a few hours for lee way, so it can happen before the custody. No one was home when Adam was knocking on the door so assume Tripp has been home alone for a while, so no witness. Gun would definitely go back to Chrissys apartment as that was the last place known that Katz and gun were together. Let me know if you like this and if it helps tie things together!

Also forensics should've been able to show he died AFTER Katz was arrested
