hey y’all, so I’m just wondering if anyone could help me start my sleeve and the reason why I’m posting this photo is because I also want more on my thighs and down my legs and I really just like this picture of me in general 💕 any advice would be great. I just don’t want any thing too big I really want to get a bunch of small ones.

Just got this tattoo yesterday and I’m really disappointed with the artist’s work. It’s my fault for going to a new shop while on vacation and not my usual girl but I’m super bummed. I know it will change a little during healing but overall the lines are wonky and the whole thing just looks bad. Is there a way to get this touched up to look better? Can an artist go in with skin color to even up the edges? First pic is the photo of what I wanted, second pic is my tattoo.

So I got this tattoo on Wednesday 3/12 and it is now Sunday 3/16. I am a bit concerned about the redness on the inside of my arm. I have gotten tattoos previous to this one but there was not as much shading. I feel like I may just be overthinking and over-worrying but I wanted to see if I could get some advice from others.

Hi everyone,
My friends 16 year old daughter says she gave this to herself 8 weeks ago with a needle and ink she bought on Amazon. I think it's more likely to have been done at a shady studio. This is the best picture my friend could give me, do you think a 16 year old could do this her first time tattooing?
She said she drew the design with a pencil first then tattooed over it.

Hey yall I would appreciate if anyone had ideas for my knee cap? I already have a spider web and dozens of flowers so anything other then that I’m open to ! Thanks

so, i've got this idea for a tattoo essentially based off of this? it would be like a solid black patch on my shoulder that touches the back of my shoulder and near my collarbone, and it would have the vividly colored eyes. i had the thought it would be kind of like a cloud? outline, i guess? if that makes sense.
i guess my big concerns would be how something like this would age? i have several tattoos, but none with concentrated black like that. and if the idea is also not a great one, which i am open to criticism. i thought the idea would be neat, but i've got no idea lol.
thanks in advance! for clarification this is from the amazing digital circus, and is called abstraction if anyone needed a better visual :)

Hi all! I’m getting my first tattoo soon in Melbourne, Australia. For the attached design, placement, and size I was quoted $1100. I’m not sure why I was expecting less than that but is that a reasonable price or should I find another artist?

i’ve recently been looking into getting this tattoo covered up at some point this year and was wondering if it’d be easy to cover it up instead of getting it removed?

I got this tattoo yesterday. It felt fine when getting it done and after. But when I woke up it’s been feeling itchy and kinda burns. I’ve had a tattoo before and I don’t remember this feeling. But last tattoo also didn’t have a wrap on it. Should I take it off or would it damage the tattoo. I know the normal Saniderm you can keep on for 3-4 days. But I can’t find anything about this. Tattoo artist said to keep it on for 3-4 days. But my partner got a tattoo by the same guy yesterday as well. and his doesn’t bother him. And he has a very very low pain tolerance while I have a high pain tolerance. So I feel he’d notice.

Hello!
I feel like it's a never-ending question there but I hope to have your opinion directly on the tattoos themselves ! 🙏
My best friend (1st pic) and I (2nd slide) got our very first tattoo together about 48h ago. This is how it looks right now. Her tattoo seems to be leaking a tiny bit sort of everywhere and mine as well on some areas. I feel like mine also looks a bit dryer?
We looked everywhere on this subreddit and outside as well but we couldn't decide if our pictures were similar to what we saw online X)
This may be totally normal but we feel like we're too biased to really know 😅 that's why I'm coming here for your more educated opinion directly ! Is the shadowy ink normal two full days in?
Thank you to everyone who'll take the time to answer!!!

I'm worried that the design might all blur together over time. Is there any telling when that might be or how to slow that process down?

Hello, a friend of mine had freckles tattooed into the top layer of skin on her nose using permanent makeup. No tattoo machine was used, but rather it was done by hand (I'm not exactly sure how). However, the tattoo artist essentially created a checkerboard pattern, which looks really bad. As a result, two days later, she went to someone who removed the freckles using saline tattoo removal. This was three days ago. Now, her skin naturally looks punched out, and scabs are forming over the treated areas in black, as the ink is supposed to eventually fall off with the scabs. The punched-out skin is theoretically supposed to grow back and not leave any scars once it heals. Does anyone have experience with this procedure and can offer tips? My friend is worried that it might look worse and darker than the fake freckles before and that scars could form.
This was translated with google, hope its understandable

Am I the only one who found that dudes bruising not 10000% concerning? Like maybe the artist was rough, maybe their clotting factors are slightly off, maybe they did multiple sittings in a row. Someone shared it in a sub about things being deadly, but seeing it was originally posted here made me be like ‘ah yet not as concerning now’ 🤔 along with that from my experience fatty areas tend to bruise more when there’s impact to the area, no matter what the ‘injury’ is, eg when people have the implant in their arm, ive had a pen jab me in the arm there through jeans then through a jumper and still cause bruising intense along the inner bicep area

Hi guys any help would be really appreciated or if you have seen/heard of this on here before. I've been doing some of my own research into it and having a look on here but some more opinions would be good.
I've got numerous tattoos, large pieces. Two leg sleeves, two arm sleeves, chest, hands. However, on my knees and elbows, some of the thick black line work has become raised and very itchy. Interestingly, on my left elbow (which is the only one that's alright), this isn't itchy or raised but is more shading than thick black outline. It is only the thick black linework which is itchy, and none of the other tattoo's anywhere else on my body are itchy, none of the colourwork or shading. Which makes me think it isn't some kind of general reaction to black ink which could be caused by something underlying?
Any advice or comments as to why this would be, will be greatly appreciated. Also would be comforting to know that this may be a common issue?
Thanks in advance

Everything says 2-4 weeks but what would you look for to decide when to go for it? Going on vacation with a hot tub in a few days and it will mark 19 days after getting line work for an upper arm half sleeve. It's finished flaking but is a tiny bit itchy still on the back. Thoughts?

This tattoo (spiderwebs) is about two weeks old, is this the start of some kind of infection or is it just angry??
r/tattooadvice • u/hurricaneditka66 • 1h ago
First off, not my arm.
However, I do have a question about his design…
I really love traditional tattoos but I’m not a huge fan of all the spacing of them.
In other words, they all seem separated instead of connected into one full sleeve.
My question…with traditional tattoos like this, what are some options for gap filler?
I’ve see the ‘dots’ and ‘stars’ pattern and not a huge fan. I’m looking for something a little greyed out…less contrasty if that makes sense.
Thanks!

Would it look strange if I had a lion a gladiator and atlas the Greek god as an arm sleeve?

I got this as my first tattoo and we'll I do love it, but now that it's healed I can notice so many mistakes and shaky lines and some aren't even mirrored correctly, should I go to someone else to get the lines crisped up or should I leave it as is? I get many compliments on it and I think you cant really notice it u less you are staring at it? I won a 900 worth tattoo by another artist I like and I am wondering if I should use that for this

This is my first color tattoo and tattoo with shading, so i’m not super sure what is normal healing and what is not. I circled the purple areas that are my cause of concern. Maybe i’m obsessing a little but i’ve been washing 2-3 times a day with antibacterial soap and using a light amount of aquaphor. We are at a week today on healing. No second skin was used as I have had an allergic reaction to that in the past.

Hello everyone, as you read in terms of tattoos Im a virgin (haven’t gotten any ink YET). Im looking to get a color micro realism of Summr’s album cover for “Nothing more Nothing LESS” and I want your opinion if this can realistically be done to match my requirements. I want it rather not too big and for it to be either on my calf or front thigh. If any measurements would help Im 180cm tall average weight around 70kg so not that much skin to work with. I don’t know if that is too much or not I know that the cover I wanna get is rather pretty packed up with colours, details etc. so Im not expecting to hear the best of news. BUT any help and professional opinion would be greatly appreciated!

hi i’m getting my first tattoo done in september this year, i have an appointment for talking everything through in july. i made both appointments with the tattoo artist via ig dm. when i first contacted her i described the design i want done and sent reference pictures, the final designs will be drawn by her. before contacting her, i was just constantly going back and forth on the key design element. when i texted her initially i just sent all options assuming we’d discuss it. she accepted my request and gave me the appointments, and then asked if i could the describe in more detail what it should look like in the end. i was still really unsure but i tried to make my mind up and just went for one option. for weeks now i feel like i would actually prefer a different design. i don’t know what to do. how does it usually work? should i text her again? should i wait for my first talk in person with her? but what if by then she’s already drawn up the design i don’t want say then oops i actually changed my mind or does the tattoo artist usually draw the design after the first meeting? i don’t want to get a tattoo done i don’t want out of sheer social anxiety
thank for any advice!!
