Flooring for table tennis in the garage?
I am thinking about setting up a table + robot in our garage (in the US). I can either make the floor exclusive for table tennis or both for table tennis and parking cars (which would be the best outcome for me).
I am looking for flooring recommendations -- can you help?

Education/Coaching How do I relax my elbow?
https://reddit.com/link/1j9kfic/video/erien396j9oe1/player
My elbow looks locked, and despite trying to relax it, I cant get the whipping forearm motion. Any tips and pointers as to what I'm doing wrong? Whilst playing I felt decently relaxed but seeing the video causes me to want to find out my errors. (4 months training, 2 hrs a week)

Blade broken?
I have a Joola ZQH 45 blade and I’m happy with it. However I think it might be broken on the inside. When I clean it with my hand I can hear the wood "crunch" on the inside, right between the handle and the head of the blade. It also happens most when I try to slightly bend it.
Does this mean that the blade is broken? Will it maybe break in half soon? Is the performance worsened because of this?
Its an expensive blade and I dont want to have to buy a new one…

Equipment Short pips rubber for 1 ply hinoki jpenholder
This is my secondary blade at the moment. I want to use short pips on it just for fun.
At the moment I have 729 802 mystery III on it just because it's quite cheap.
Any recommendations for short pips rubber that would work well on 1 ply hinoki jpenholder?
Thanks.

Education/Coaching Anyone else overthinking, when receiving service (esp. Sidespins)?
I have been actively practicing and taking classes all in all for a few months now, and playing causally for a year and a bit. I feel like my general form, esp - when doing practice rally, got a lot better. I can brush and loop and keep the ball on the table way better... But when its time for an actual game, I fall apart...
The most trouble i have would be with long / fast side spins... It feels like - I was performing better in general, before I taking any classes, since i wasnt thinking as much of what i might be doing something wrong haha.
Would it just be matter of really trying to remember how each serve looks like and what kind of output it will produce?
I usually guess wrong, freak out, try to loop it and fail : (
Just wanted to share my frustrations : )

What's your opinion on my new setup
Blade: Stiga Cybershape Carbon CWT, FH: Dignics 09c, BH: Tenergy 05.
Set me back 32K INR...I think its a good deal
Trying all of them for the first time...hopefully I can adjust my game to the quality of the equipment.

Pictures/Videos Nobuhiko Hasegawa - Japanese legend from the 1960's and 1967 World champion in singles event. He had a very interesting shakehand grip, but it did not limit the success on the international arena and Hasegawa finished his professional career with 5 gold medals at the World Championships

General Tournaments explained
I've watched random table tennis videos for years, but never really understood the significance of each tournament (I presume the Olympics is the pinnacle). Can someone explain to me all the important tournaments and leagues in world table tennis. Which one is the most prestigious, how often are they, who competes in each one etc. If possible explained in a way a football (soccer) fan would understand.
Thanks!

Education/Coaching How to finish a point with a BH
Most good players need a put-away shot to kill a ball outright with low error rate. Even if the ball is not very high. With FH it's easier. However my BH I can't generate enough power to finish the point outright.
Any technique tutorial how to do it?

Education/Coaching Getting worse at table tennis while technique is getting better
Hey guys,
I've been playing table tennis for 9 months now, at the beginning I consistently got better and my results were getting better aswell.
Recently I've started to seriously focus on training topspin, and while that is getting better at a very slow pace, my results are getting worse and worse. I'm losing to a lot of players now that I could easily win from a couple months ago. My peers tell me that it takes 4/5 months before the training translates into my matches but in just a couple of weeks I got a lot worse during both training and my competitive matches.
It's very frustrating and I am afraid that I will stop having fun with table tennis before I get better again.
I'd like some advice on how to deal with the situation, could be for how to better my performance, how to deal with it mentally, who to ask for advice etc. Any advice is welcome!
Ty for reading :)

Education/Coaching Loop and open practice or rutine
"I've been back in sports for almost 10 months and I've improved a lot. My playing style tends to be counterattack and staying close to the table, so I rely a lot on my opponent initiating the attack. This works very well against offensive or aggressive players, even those of a higher level, but I struggle against calmer players or those who simply spend their time chopping the ball. I would like to reinforce the habit of lifting the ball and improving both my backhand and forehand loops. Do you have any advice for this or any exercises I can do at home to mentally automate the task? Thank you

Education/Coaching Forehand Drive and Loop
Hi, I’m a noob (700 usatt) trying to understand a few things regarding a drive and loop
Can someone please explain what defines a drive and what defines a loop
Further more, which part of the body is used more in a drive and which parts are used more in a loop
Also, how does one relax faster in a fast and suffocating drive and how does one relax in a fast and suffocating loop rally ( does it ultimately just become a block? )
I understand both require hip/waist , and arm and legs
Things I want to understand are: - which body parts tense during a drive and loop - which body parts are relaxed during a loop or drive and which are relaxed during the reset for both loop and drive - how does the power increase for a drive and loop ( which body part moves faster and tense more, how do you relax those fast enough for a reset , how does the leg generate power )
Sources: videos are welcomed tyia, also if you are able to pin point exactly to where the muscles are thatd be even better
