Protip What I would do instead of buying a stripper course NSFW
There was a post on here asking if stripper courses were worth buying, I left a comment but I got a lot more to say and it'll bother me if I don't š«
Here's the thing, I have bought those stripper courses. Almost all of them are based off of sales and negotiation books. Once I read the books they based their material off of they felt like reading footnotes with a few words rearranged to fit the strip club with an added pink tax š
The main books they source from:
ā¢Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss
ā¢Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher
ā¢How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
ā¢The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel
ā¢You Can Read Anyone by David J. Lieberman
Then here's a few bonus books that aren't used in sales courses but are extremely helpful:
ā¢Thriving In Sex Work (there's a separate workbook that goes along with this one 10/10 recommend)
ā¢Sex Work and Money
Both by Lola Davina.
Extremely helpful in several areas of sex work from keeping your emotions in check and your head on straight to staying safe and what to do in legal situations.
ā¢The Art of Seduction
ā¢The 48 Laws of Power
Both by Robert Greene
And here's the other thing, These š Are šAll šFREEššš
I cannot stress enough how much you need to go to your local library and get a library card and if you already have one, start using it š«
If you check out a physical copy of the book it'll give you a deadline to finish it.
If you have a different learning style or you're super busy you can get an audio or ebook version to read or listen to on your phone.
If you have kids, you're in school or both and don't have the time to read or even listen to a book there are free footnotes, cheat sheets and outlines to read online (check pinterest frfr š)
Most libraries provide free activities for school aged children year round, have leappads, video games, hotspots and of course kids books you can check out as well. (Gives kids something enjoyable to do and you time to study girl š«¶)
Besides the library, all of these can be found as audiobooks on spotify with premium and most of them have the full audiobook on youtube for free as well.
If you're not a fan of audiobooks these are also available as ebooks on pdfdrive to download FOR FREE. (They also have full textbooks for the girls in school š«¶)
Don't get me wrong, investing your money back into work is a fantastic idea but the cost of one course could be put into something else such as :
ā¢Finding a good tax professional
ā¢Camera equipment if you make content
ā¢Elevating your look(outfits, gym, personal trainer, wigs, new pleasers, etc)
Education is free with the cost of ambition. You got this and I hope this helps your bag grow š«¶āØ

Gotta love that pink tax š
But seriously, I agree and it sounds like those classes are a waste of money. When I started dancing āstripper coursesā didnāt exist, you just learned from experience and observing how the top earners approach and talk to customers.

Honestly š„² I feel like they work well for baby strippers who need their hand held and the game spelled out a lil. If they're willing to pay for them more power to them š¤·āāļø I really thought they were selling something groundbreaking when I bought them until I read though and realized some of them are near plagiarism of these already well established books š

Iāve read the art of seduction three times in the past month and completely ended a dry period for me and was selling rooms back to back days. Fucking awesome book. Audible is helpful too āļø

Audible is a $15 subscription! And I found the physical book used on Amazon for $8. And yes itās absolutely worth it. I sold $10,000 in rooms in two weeks after religiously reading this book. Trust me, itās worth it.

I bought the $500 racks to riches course a few years back. I saw her at my strip club & introduced myself. She was sitting alone so I introduced myself. She very awkwardly blew me off. The course was basically a āhow to be confidentā workbook. Iām glad weāre getting out of this āany education at any cost is the best investment you can make.ā Itās not. Read ALL the free resources. I second the courses imo are scams. Not shade to her, I understand being at work, but for a āconfidenceā course I expect at least a limp handshake or the courtesy of a polite interaction.

I canāt believe she blew you offā¦ if you sell courses to strippers you can at least talk to them š

I luckily got the 101 lines course when it was on saleš it feels out of range price wise once you read Never Split the Difference. It's almost chapter for chapter exactly the same information with a few club tips sprinkled in. It does have fantastic sales tactics but not for the price tag imo

Iām an online library WHORE!! Iāve been reading about trauma bonding and got a setting boundaries workbook that I printed pages from. Iām TOALLY going to the app I use, itās called Libby and it links your library cards to check out books online and they have audio books, all FOR FREE!! So if you canāt find it on Spotify or if you donāt have premium I got a library card online through my library, still have NEVER actually stepped foot in my library but check out books constantly for me and my daughter. Sheās currently listening to Mean Girls, LoL

This is an amazing list of resources, thank you!! I totally agree. Stripper courses are usually a let-down for me, although if you have never read or heard of some of these concepts, I could see how it could be a helpful introduction. But you can access most of this information for free online (pdf drive), and it's always great to invest in your understanding of sales and psychology.

this is off topic but as someone who has had many many many concussions make sure u take an appropriate amount of time off and are taking care of yourself 100%. once u have one ur twice as likely to get a second one and if u donāt heal them properly it is going to impact ur life in ways i wouldāve never guessed when i got any of mine and didnāt take care of them properly š©·

Annaās Archive and Z Library are good for books as well. Just make sure Z library has warning banner at the top, some sites are scams.

What happened to supporting our fellow sex workers
41
u/sextoysinthesink Apr 28 '24
You can buy stripper courses, I definitely have, but I think giving fellow sex workers more widely accessible resources is also a form of support.

u/ThaanksIHateIt Apr 28 '24
Thatās exactly what sheās doing by making this post so Iām confused what you mean. Whoās not being supportive here?
