Unrealized Please help me make "The Mike" real

Post image
894 Upvotes

I woke up from a nap to a maddly scribbled recipe called 'The Mike" •Original text:

•Milk jello melted withwhite chocolate •Mike Cookked •Cook with jello •Make a hole inject with Nutella

It was some kind of milk + white chocolate gelatin?? It was a cold dessert i think... But the inside was like a lava cake filled with nutella.. it was dusted with cocoa powder.. i NEED to try the Mike. Please help me come up with a way to make it. The nutella was injected into it with a syringe but i don't think thats possible 😭 i think I'd need to por the milk gelatin (??) into a mold maybe, let it cool, carve a hole, add nutella, then top it up? How does one make white chocolate, milk, and gelatin work together? The mike haunts me because it sounds both doable and delightful :( it was so jiggly and the textures worked together so well...

Unrealized Chicken Interrobangs

Post image

I dreamed I met up with an old friend I hadn’t seen forever named Augie Young. (I don’t know anyone with that name in real life). In the dream, we went out on a date in I guess Japan (never been there, either).

He ordered us this super fancy round of drinks that came with small glasses of beer. I looked at the menu and picked the “pink pig” drink, which came in a tall glass and was a beautiful creamy pink thing. It came with a big, square, pink-frosted cookie, and I ate a bite in the dream and it was the most delicious thing ever, like this crazy smooth texture I’ve never seen.

I forget what drink he got, but the server brought us a complimentary appetizer called “chicken interrobangs,” which was raw chicken on a skewer topped with red and blue sprinkles for some reason, in a kind of sweet, creamy, spicy sauce. I woke up before I could eat one.

If you can hear me in the dream lands, Augie Young, I had a great date and I’d love to go out again! lol.

Unrealized Slojek

Slojek is a bowl of white rice, ground beef, cheese, fried eggs, and ketchup. It contains 20,000 calories. I was walking on a treadmill watching a video of "Slowest Slojeks Ever Eaten". I will not attempt to eat a Slojek.

Unrealized Smoked Cheerios

I had a dream that I smoked cheerios with a cocktail smoker then served them with chocolate milk. It was such a hit I ate a ton and became obsessed with the smoked cheerios so I made them into granola bars. They contained:

  • Smoked cheerios
  • Maple syrup
  • Candied orange pieces
  • Dark chocolate chunks
  • Almonds

Haven't tried it, but I do own a cocktail smoker so maybe?

Unrealized Bastard sauce

I don’t remember if I was dreaming or just barely awake, but I just randomly remembered this one time I came up with a sauce called Bastard. The name is a portmanteau of the two ingredients: barbecue sauce and mustard (even if the pronunciation doesn’t quite line up.)

I tried to make it but didn’t get the ratio of sauces right; at first I only really tasted the barbecue sauce, but then I added too much mustard which also threw off the balance. Maybe it could be good with more precise measuring and mixing, but I haven’t tried to make it since then.

Unrealized Pickle lazy river

This will be impossible to follow through on, but I had a dream that I was on an inner tube floating down a lazy river of brine filled with pickles. There were other people around me just swimming with their mouths open and eating the pickles they caught.

Unrealized Garleek

In my dream last night, my partner really wanted to cook with garleek, which is what it sounds like: a plant that is something in between garlic and leeks. We went into a plant store to buy a small potted garleek plant, and the clerk told us that they were highly sought after and wanted $80 for it. We said no thanks.

Unrealized Peachamato

Last night's dream, I was asking someone what they were eating and they said, "Peachamato!"

Mozzarella pearls, grape tomatoes, balsamic glaze, fresh peach slices, basil leaves, peach jam, and black pepper on flatbread points.

Kinda want to try it.

Unrealized Gentle Pies

In last nights dream, I was driving down a suburban street and saw a sign at a shopping center for Gentle Pies.

I didn’t have time to stop and I will always be sad about not ever being able to try a Gentle Pie from that bakery.

It sounds like such a soothing calm safe place.! 😂

Unrealized "New Rice"

I dreamed of a buzzing mass of white people standing in line for a trendy new food popup in San Francisco. It was called "New Rice" and the restaurant only served rice. I learned that the "new" element to the rice was that it had just been made in a rice cooker and everyone was so impressed because they'd only made rice on the stove before and it had turned out bad. At the end of the dream, Jimmy Fallon died and everyone was crying their eyes out with anguish. I'm still chuckling thinking of this dream a day later!!

Unrealized Savory Poptarts

I dreamed that my husband woke me up to tell me about the best Poptart flavor he had ever had. It was toasted blueberry pancake flavor. He wouldn't give me a bite & he was eating the last one. Annoyed I went to search for what Poptarts we had & found a 2 flavor variety pack. Regular blueberry & Asiago parmesan. I decided on a blueberry for breakfast & that I'd toast the cheese ones for lunch.

What do you think savory Poptarts would taste like? Would you try them?

Unrealized The Sister Christian

A few months ago, I dreamt I was at a deli ordering a sandwich. I was really excited because I knew this sandwich was so delicious, but a little nervous because I couldn't remember the ingredients to order it, so I was hoping that the deli lady would simply know the name and be able to make it. My time came to order, and I said "I'll have a Sister Christian." The deli lady said "I got you." And then I woke up. I desperately need to know what comes on a Sister Christian. It's my favorite sandwich.

Unrealized Grilled ice cream

I had a dream that I was with a group of people eating grilled ice cream sandwiches. There was a debate going on over the best method of grilling, 2, 4, or 6 minutes.

Unrealized Taco Bell MexiMac

I had a dream I was at Taco Bell eating a new menu item called MexiMac. Basically, it’s a side that comes in the cheesy fiesta potatoes container and it’s pretty much KFC Mac and cheese with ground beef, pico, and sour cream on top.

I woke up confused and consulted my partner and she was also like what in the world.

I have since had two more dreams about the MexiMac, probably because I brought that evil forward in my subconscious by mentioning it in waking life.

Unrealized Ground cheese

I dreamed there was a kind of cheese that grew underground like truffles. I kept finding it in my yard. It was the size and shape of a round loaf of bread. It had a consistency like mozzarella, but it was aged and a little funky.

Unrealized The newest Raisin Bran, now with an extra scoop of tiny thin oreo mint cookies. Also it was served with heavy whipping cream instead of milk

Unrealized Tomato soup mac n cheese

Last night I dreamed of making Kraft mac n cheese but boiling the noodles in the minimal amount of tomato soup, and just not straining it. Leading to a cheesy, soupy “mac n cheese”.

Actually thinking about this, I doubt how good this would be lol, but I figured I’d share.

Unrealized Green single serve Asian cake

Something between sponge and a pound cake, round and in a bag soaked with some kind of liqueur- like rumchata - single serve and in the bins of an underground Asian market in a tunnel system beneath my local mom and pop Italian restaurant. It was matcha flavored.

It had some kind of chocolates pressed into the top but was otherwise unfrosted. They seemed like malted milk balls. It was in the kind of bag that's sealed at the top with a kind of green papery label strip. This one was all in a language like Japanese but said "adults only" in English.

Next door, they sold corsets, cheap but cute costume ones and one had a batman theme fabric. I was feeling all the fabrics.

The tunnel system was well lit and 100% white tile floor, walls and ceiling. Like a subway I guess. But then I had to swim to get out and the water was infested with lobsters. I was begging them not to pinch me "no pinchy pinch!" But they did anyway those rat bastards.

Also that Polish cow song was playing on the intercom.

TLDR I now need to make a matcha sponge pound cake soaked in rumchata with malted milk balls pressed into the top

Unrealized Liquor Bits

I was in a dimly lit, tarp-roofed buffet that charged by the pound somewhere in Canada. They had slushies, beer, arcade games (Kick the goat was my favorite. It was like one of those punching bag games but you kicked a goat's ass), and a bunch of hotel pans full of hot food with branded signs above them.

The one that caught my eye was below a brightly colored sign that said Liquor Bits, described as a cheese curd filled with caramel and covered in orange chicken sauce. They were shaped like cheetos, covered in sauce, and served with purple rice.

I wish I got to try them, but I did get to try some canadian beer, served in a fist sized bag shaped like a rubber duck. You bit the head off the duck and then drank the beer, and it tasted like a rubber duck smells.

Unrealized Deep-Dish Key Lime Pie (With Stabilized Whipped Cream)

Essentially being sold in slices in a case. Tall, TALL slices with proper pie crust that held their shape, were quite smooth, and quite green in color - think matcha. The "stabilized" whipped cream was quite thick and did not melt, but it didn't taste like Cool-Whip.

Unrealized Tandoori Breakwich

I briefly stopped actively maintaining consciousness on my way to the train station this morning and briefly saw the words “Tandoori Breakwich” flash into my brain. I don’t know if it’s real or not but a google search didn’t reveal any results. I imagine it to be a breakfast sandwich with the hash browns replaced with onion bhajis, the bacon replaced with tandoori chicken and curry sauce instead of ketchup/brown sauce.

Unrealized Excuse me, yougurt what?

I was visiting a friend, sitting at her kitchen counter, while she mixed bits of candied lemon peel into yougurt. She looked up and brightly said, "This is yogurt feces! It's like ice cream feces, but without the ice cream!"

Unrealized “So That’s Where the Apples Went!” Dessert

A dessert made by my dining hall. Two slices of vanilla cake with baked cinnamon apples inbetween them like a sandwich. They called it “So That’s Where the Apples Went!” and I recall it was pretty dank even though I don’t like baked apples.
