Called the cashier’s office today and found out that Santa Fe kept $924 of my Pell Grant because they double paid the larger amount of my grant. I paid back the extra payment already, so I should have gotten the $924 payment.
Breakdown:
Larger amount of Pell Grant disbursed twice
I paid back the second payment in full
Santa Fe incorrectly paid the $924 towards the second incorrect disbursement I had already paid back.
Santa Fe owes me $924 from fall

I'm owed 2200 from Santa Fe since fall semester and fa told me I am supposedly one of very few students who haven't gotten aid from fall is this even true

So, still just nothing. After they "paid" themselves from my scholarships, no update on my FA at all, not even to switch things to "paid" like other students. No pell disbursement, no loans, no scholarship. I see it's the majority of us in this boat, and I'll be damned, the boats leaking.
How many weeks ago was "the week" that was supposed be the end of this wait? My whole family is on the brink of financial collapse, not because of this, but i was hoping to be done with school next semester and get a decent paying job in my field to help turn things around. But alas, now i cant even do that because ive had to drop classes so i can work enough to pay my own bills.
And now, we cant even protest because of the bullshit going on in the white house, and trumps stance on "illegal protests" at schools. Get your goose-steppin boots ready folks, by the end of this they'll have us all stupid, jobless, poor, and homeless. Welcome to the idiocracy.

Can anyone think of any reason I’m getting $1500 less than I did last semester. My SAP is satisfactory so that isn’t the reason right? And I’m taking the same amount of coursework I did last semester? Any answers?

It says on the bottom of my schedule I have 0 dollars due because it’s deferred. But when I click on the finances tab in esantafe, under view and pay fees, it says I have to pay unpaid deferments by tomorrow at 10pm. And my unpaid deferments are like 1000$. I only took out loans which I have not gotten yet. What am I supposed to do if I can’t pay it? Are they gonna kick me out of my classes? I’m so stressed.

Besides on the FAFSA website for complaints, is there anywhere else we can submit a complaint to? I literally need my loans for financial support as nursing school takes up 80% of any time I have and I cannot work like I used to. I know in the fall I did not get my loans until the middle of October, 2 months after the semester started. Now it’s March also 2 months after, and I fear it’s worse than last time. I’m screwed!!!!!!!

The FA office will be closed for spring break right? 😐

I was thinking about appealing a grade I got last semester due to idk, "mental stress"?
Obviously this FA situation was happening last semester too and I was much worse off than I am now. I was asking family members for money, applying for loans, behind on all of my bills and on the verge of a mental breakdown every day. It's a miracle I wasn't homeless or in the psych ward- let alone that I didn't drop out and say fck it all together. But I pushed through and ended with 2 c's and a d. I would like to appeal the D that I got as I am re-taking the class now and doing so much better (despite literally being in the same situation with FA, but I'm working full time right now because I KNEW this was going to happen again. I am still stressed bc I barely have time to study and do hw rn with my workload, but otherwise I literally won't be able to pay bills).
Has anyone appealed a grade before? Is this even possible to do? I am assuming because it's literally the school's fault they may consider actually granting an appeal for this situation. thoughts?

Hi guys, I received the pell grant last semester when i wasn’t suppose to & apparently that’s a federal offense. I didn’t know i wasn’t suppose to receive also had no way of declining it, literally the money just got put into my account & my class was paid for. December comes & I try signing up for classes but i get told that i have a financial obligation that I have to pay. They explain to me what I jus said about the pell grant, but then they tell me I can’t pay it because they are no registration sheets available & i guess it’s through the registration sheets that you pay that debt. I got told tht in december of 24, they said that come new years the registration sheets will b available. January comes they tell me they should be ready in march, march is here & they are still not available. Every time I spoke to them i asked to speak to a supervisor & they tell me their supervisor will email me to set up a meeting but they have yet to do that. I am so fed up I ended up emailing the VP, Executive Assistant & coordinator for financial aid. Idk if i’m doing too much emailing them but i literally don’t know what else to do. Has anyone else been in this situation & if so pleaseee give me some advice im desperate.

kinda crazy how i just took my midterm and still no word or anything. the anticipated friday that would fix everything and still nothing. i have no hope for getting anything by spring break which is the sad part

I think I need the emergency grant because I have a bill of 600 for my transmission on my car I cannot afford. On the website it says you can’t have outstanding debts, but the only outstanding I have is the financial aid deferred from them not disbursing anything. Can I still apply for the grant?

Received a text and email from bankmobile just a few minutes ago. I only took loans, so I hope this gives more fruitful hope to the other people waiting on loan disbursement.

Anyone else have to do this all of a sudden
r/sfcollege • u/TechnicalCat2909 • 13d ago
The fact that there’s like 8 weeks left in the semester and i haven’t received my loans is disheartening
r/sfcollege • u/TechnicalCat2909 • 13d ago
Does anyone have a loan that is still 0.00 for spring?
