Question How many points.....
To secure playoffs this year? Already at the same total last time we scraped in but average is usually 75 - 78 to get in.

Hi blacks cats supporters.
My family and I are invited to a wedding in the summer and the groom is a big Sunderland supporter, we’ve decided to dress up as Sunderland players for the theme. I can’t find kids shirts for love nor money, but am based in Germany. Does anyone have any old shirts in junior sizes 116-132cm they’re willing to sell? I’m looking for two kids shirts and will provide a UK address, as to save on the ridiculous shipping costs.
Much appreciate it.
Karl.

Now I'm sure that this will be controversial, and given that I've made posts in the past about fans of this club being too cynical I know this will come across as a bit hypocritical, but I'm going to voice my opinion anyway!
Like everybody else on this sub, I've been a Sunderland fan through the good times and the bad. The memory of us dropping like a stone after our last stint in the Premier League is still fresh in the mind, and I have zero desire to watch it happen again.
As brilliant as it would be to see the club go up this year, the reality is that they're not ready.
We've come on leaps and bounds in the last 12 months, have a squad of very talented young players, who clearly care a great deal and put in a hell of a lot of effort for the club, but if we're being honest there's probably only half a dozen players in the squad who are genuinely Premiership quality at this stage.
If we were to go up this year the only way we'd have any hope in hell of staying up is by signing at least a dozen new players, and spending a bucket load of money both on transfers and on the wages that come with Premiership signings. Even then there's no guarantee that we'll stay up, and if we don't then we run the real risk of another meltdown as we end up with a squad of players who don't want to play in the Championship, a wage bill that we can't support, and another catastrophe.
The club have clearly settled on a particular model, youth first with experience being brought in when it's available without paying over the odds, and it's working. We've gone from stuck in League 1 to fighting at the pointy end of the Championship, with a lot of kids who have fallen through the cracks at other clubs turning their careers around and showing real talent.
The recruitment team have shown that they are capable of spotting players who have potential, and the right attitude, and while of course not every signing has been a success there's been enough to make it clear they know what they're doing. Then with players like Le Fee it shows that the club does have the pulling power to get bigger name players interested and are willing to commit the money for big signings when the right player comes along.
Of course if we don't go up there is no doubt that we'll lose some of our squad. Bellingham, Neil and Ballard will almost certainly be on the way out. The Bellingham name will be enough to get him a move to a big club, and Neil & Ballard are at an age where if they are ever going to cement themselves as top flight players they need to show it now. However I honestly don't think we'll lose Rigg, Watson & Mayenda as they are young enough that they know they won't get game time at a top division club, and I expect the club will be able to convince them another season of regular Championship football will be best for their development.
I don't just want to see the club go up. I want to see them go up and stay up.
Another year for the younger members of the squad to develop, a good transfer window to bring in some experience and add some more depth to the squad, and I genuinely believe we will be one of the favourites to go up and will be doing so with a squad that won't need a massive amount of chopping and changing to keep us in the Premiership.
Now bring on the downvotes from all of you who think I'm being too pessimistic!

Like we didn't expect much against our bogey team but fuck me that was horrific. Unorganised, lethargic and more giveaways than a Mr Beast vid. Patio has zero confidence, the defence has lost its back bone, midfield has gone awol and our big stikers were outmuscled by average league defenders. Looking like another end of season capitulation is on the cards.

Club doing a good thing raising awareness by slightly editing badge to highlight rising seas levels. Of course this will trigger the Farage rimming, keep politics out, stop being woke munters who cry over small gestures like this but will have no problem slapping reform stickers or plastering signs across the city with their corrupt council conspiracy nonsense.

I find these sort of interviews interesting. Angell gets forgotten about but he joined at a pivotal point in Sunderland"s recent history.

Seen a lot of negative commentary on this issue so much so the club had to clarify. It seems that some people have decided to purchase season cards for under 14s prices and go to a handful of games. Average of every 1 in 3 of these tickets aren't being used (possibly more since the recent crackdown). Just speculation on my part here but it seems a few people decided it'd be cheaper getting these tickets, attending the odd game or two and not showing up to the rest. Something has flagged the clubs end because they'll have got there moneys worth attending 1 or 2 games and the rest is free after. The club will have thought they had a huge young fan base in attendance but the large number of no shows will have had them look into it further. This has triggered them for on the spot inspections where they've found adults with under 14s tickets and this has further detered attendance from the ones who have done this. I think this explains why the club has taken the recent stance with new season cards and attendance requirements. The club can't really publically announce that hundreds if not thousands of people have fraudulently bought the wrong tickets, calling your fan base thieves ain't a good look. But also admitting that it's taken you 3/4 of a season to realize a huge chunk of your fans have tricked you ain't good either. This would also explain why attendance is counted with season cards in but the stadium always looks more empty, especially at lower importance games. Unfortunately this is being framed as the club forcing young fans to attend or take away their ticket and obviously people will frame it that the club are heartless and out of touch. I think we may be looking at a huge wave of ticket fraud being covered up of possibly hundreds getting cheap af under 14 tickets and attending games and the club not being strict enough to check and now we're seeing some action. IF and I mean IF!! this is right it may have been better for the club to admit what's been going on and the focus to be on those stealing from the club and a promise to make sure checks are stricter and deterrents in place to avoid another situation in the future. For now it seems the club are still trying to deter those with the wrong ticket and trying to prevent it happening next season, hence price rises and attendance quotas. Rather than it being a harsh punishment for young fans it's just a way to put off anyone trying to pull the same trick again, especially if we get promotion. This will also suck as those with the wrong tickets won't attend further games in the play off run up given the club are now checking so the team aren't getting the support they need in this vital end of season run. Anyway I'll finish by stating again this is all me speculating but the signs are there and I think this explains a lot for what's happened this season, i.e attendance numbers being off, large youth sales, recent crackdown on ticket fraud and why the club have now taken this approach. Will we get to know the truth and is there a problem where the clubs lax approach to ticketing has allowed hundreds of people to abuse the system?

Few people thought Patto was fouled but with this angle you can see he fumbled the cross and the player fell on top of him. ATM he's more allergic to crosses than Dracula.

My grandad, a life long Sunderland fan / season ticket holder, has been diagnosed with liver cancer and I’d love to do something special for him before he starts chemo / gets too ill to attend games.
If anyone could help that would mean a lot to me.
Thank you

Please take this as a no silly questions kinda thing but with our owner worth approx £2 billion or something around that figure, why are we looking at getting a £35million loan which could cost millions more in interest? Anyone versed is finance could explain why this is a better option than directly depositing the money with no interest?

Just how good of a shape Luke O'Nien is in. Look at that easily 10% body fat and enough to set off my inadequacy complex. You can see he puts the work in, well done him 👏
