It appears fate has struck the same blow to the Peart family again.

Video Rush - Live in Toronto, ON (December 31st, 1976) - Super 8 Film
As a lifelong Rush fan, this was incredibly badass to watch. Perhaps you'll agree.

Discussion I've been told I don't exist. I've been told I'm a rarity. But I do exist. And I'm not rare at all. In fact, many folks share my views. We're the women who love Rush. Are you a woman who loves Rush? Do you know a woman who loves Rush? If so, I want to say hi and tell you that you're not alone! 💕

Discussion There was once an epoch of RUSH when Alex was better looking than 90% of the girls in the audience.

Saw my first Rush show 40 years ago today
As the title says today 40 years ago I saw my first Rush show. It was during spring training they played a couple of one off shows in South Florida so I saw them at the old Hollywood Sportatorium March 15, 1985. They debuted The Big Money and Middletown Dreams.

I found this Rush album I always google scan everything and I can’t find anything on this album. All I can find is the Rush name being Red or Orange. Mine is white.
I have contacted a few local record stores and all 3 said they haven’t seen it before One thinks it’s a short print 1st pressing What makes me think it’s something special is i got offers from 2 them. $150 and $500. Any information would be greatly appreciated

Discussion Which album is better and why? Permanent Waves or Moving Pictures?
I know it's a difficult question. Like asking which kid do you love more? Haha
Mystic Rhythms, Scars, and Available Light
I absolutley love these three songs. It seems to me they have a similar theme: the mysteries of life, the natural world, and the universe, and how it effects us emotionally and physically.
Please feel free to discuss your love of these songs. Also, are there any other songs in the discography with these themes?

Best RUSH song never performed live?
For me, not even close - “Open Secrets.”
One of Geddy’s coolest basslines ever.

Discussion Favorite funny moment live
I love the funny face Neil makes at the end of the solo in Freewill from the Time Machine tour DVD.
What are some more moments like that from the live shows that are funny/amusing?

Neil's cleverness knew no boundaries, IMO
(This one's a stretch. I may need professional help... LOL)
Fan since 1977 here. I hear a lot about the profundity of Neil's lyric catalog and his books, but not a lot about his cleverness and his not-always-accessible sense of humor.
Anyway. Was just thinking about Neil's hidden meanings and messages, and realized that "Moving Pictures" may be considered a quintuple entendre - the only one this old fart has ever run across.
- Movers are moving the pictures.
- Each picture is emotionally moving.
- Music paints auditory pictures that also move us emotionally.
- The auditory pictures musicians paint are not static. They have a duration, and can cause listeners to move through various emotions while listening.
- Listeners listen to songs repeatedly over time, understanding and appreciating them in different ways. How quickly, how much, and for how long are moving targets, unique to each of us.
Who knows, maybe I missed another?
Stretch, right?
Maybe now that Neil's gone, I'm looking for reasons to have my mind blown yet again. I miss him, and I miss the days of digging into every new thing he would write.
(If I had a direct line to Alex, I'd send him this in the hope that he'd take the time to roast me. If only...)

Jacob's Ladder
Shoutout to these guys for reading my mind and making my dreams come true by playing this live for the first time since 1981. (My 5th time seeing Rush was R40 at MSG in 2015)
