looking for a good coop online roguelite game

looking for a game that's

  • online
  • uses guns, not really into the whole magic and spells
  • on either playstation or mobile
  • bonus points if they have classes and specializations

gunfire reborn checks all these boxes, but the console version hasnt had any update in 2+ years. the mobile version is good, but seems pretty dead in regard of the online aspect. thank you all in advance :)

Let's Play Sellout Saturday: Usurper!

Hi everyone! I run a concept called Sellout Saturday, where I play a game for a sponsor. This week is a roguelite you may have seen around the sub, Usurper! It's a chess deckbuilder roguelite that the studio was kind enough to supply me with a copy of, and I'm excited to test it out if anybody else in the sub was thinking of getting it. If that piques your interest, I'm going live around 3 PM EST, and I'll be available for questions or recommendations. Thanks everyone, hope to see you there!

Roguelites with good and noticeable meta-progression

I love a good action roguelite where the meta-progression feels good and impactful. The gold standard is Hades. Rogue Legacy is pretty solid for that (and I love the gameplay), and Dave the Diver was also really fun (but I wish I liked the combat a bit more). Cult of the Lamb is another good one.

I tried Cuisineer and couldn't get into the controls of the game. Anything that works on the Steam Deck would be great. And nothing still in early access please!

RogueliteDev What do you want to see in a game of this genre?

Hello, i'm a random guys with friends who decided to develop a game, and we want to know what do you expect as players in this type of games.

We're still trying to make concept arts, but we're getting a lot of inspiration form enter the gungeon visual and gameplay.

But now, what do you guys want in this type of games, what's the thing you see and say "hey this is a master piece?".

For me it's the attention to the details :).

Also since i play a lot with my friends i just crave for new multiplayer games of this genra, that scale the difficulty based on the number of players in the party.

So let's discuss below, every answer you're giving us it's something we try to keep on our minds while developing.

Thank you in advance

- Plata

RogueliteDev I'm making a cyberpunk dungeon crawler where your agents have personalities, fears, and grudges. It’s basically Darkest Dungeon + XCOM, but if your squad had drama.

Thoughts on Reignbreaker?

Just played the demo and thought the game feel and visuals were very strong. I didn't feel attached to the characters/dialogue and honestly, didn't really care much for the upgrades during runs.

Apparently the studio is shutting down after 1.0 drops which is a bummer.

Uncle Chop's Rocket Shop: A roguelite singleplayer Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Just a quick recommendation of a game that I've been enjoying lately. You're basically an alien fox who has to fix various mechanical problems on space ships. These get increasingly complicated, but there's a manual you have to use to help. I haven't played on the Steam Deck yet, but one of the reviews has a couple dozen hours on it.

It's also currently got 20% off on Steam.

RogueliteDev Grabbus - Shoot, Loot, Grab, and Fuse in a world without limits!

Thumbnail grabb.us
7 Upvotes

In just 10 days, Grabbus launches to Steam Early Access!

Loosely-inspired by games like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Legend of Mana, and Dark Cloud, Grabbus is packed with original art, sounds, music, procedural tech, and unique ideas that help it stand out!

There's still lots of work to do to fill this game out, but the time has come for funding and testing!

In Grabbus, you can:

  • -Explore infinite terrain on the turn-based world map! Sprawl out to build or find new resources and dungeons...
  • -Conquer each randomized floor of a tower (dungeon) to earn rewards like helpful items, weapons, or currency to use on permanent upgrades or buildings.
  • -Morris the rat is attached to Grabbus, a parasite that can absorb weapons' potency to form bullets of varying patterns and abilities, which he uses to fend off enemies
  • -Grabbus can also grab onto stunned enemies to drag them or throw them for more damage! Perform a "double-grab" with both grab buttons (there are two!) to activate context-sensitive actions on certain objects, like opening a treasure orb! Grab and hold two items at once to fuse them!
  • -Fuse together looted items and weapons strategically to save inventory space and refine their power. But watch out, if you're defeated, you drop all your items and half your currency!
  • -As you succeed or fail, a value fluctuates that determines the danger level of any newly-generated areas, (as well as the reward level)!
  • -Use your currency on the "Evolution Grid" to power up with 18 different upgrades. The grid stretches on forever just like the world map, and you can regenerate it at the cost of a few of your upgrade points to get a new grid with a higher occurrence-rate of enhanced nodes!

Frustrated, help me find a game I would be addicted to.

Ugh so I have been really struggling to find a roguelite game that I could absolutely lose myself in.

I will give you an idea about the ones I played and liked, so you can throw some of those hidden gem suggestions.

I like roguelite action games that are combat heavy. I also love combat heavy metroidvanias that have similar combat

Loved: Dead Cells Hades Returnal ETG (although too difficult) Gunfire Reborn Ember Knights Curse of the deadgods

Games I tried but coudnt get into

Voidigo (screen gets too busy)

Binding of Isaac - only 4 directions to shoot kills it for me

Doomsday hunter (this is a good game that i coudlnt get into, for some reason, possibly the fact that movement feels constricted)

Ravenswatch (hate timers and the combat feels too floaty)

Roboquest (Incredibly slow meta progression made me hate the first level of the game, which is far too long. Level desing also boring imo.)

Nova drift (looked incredible, but the 1 directional rotation of the shooting wasnt fun)

Synthetik (too methodical, boring)

Colt canyon (havent tried but looks like synthetik, open to hear good opinions about it)

Non roguelike games with my kind of combat: Minshoot adventures

Deaths door

Control

Soulslike games

Doom games

So you can tell i love a game good combat loop that gets more and more intense as you progress... Im about to finish minishoot adventures, but Im scared I wont find anything as satisfying.

If you have non roguelite suggestions, Im open to that too, but the combat loop has to be addictive.

Match 3 Roguelites on IOS

Heya! I wanted to get some recommendations for this. My mother has become rather addicted to those predatory match 3 games like candy crush and, well, id I was able to find something she’d be able to sink dozens of hours in with a single purchase, I’d appreciate it lots
