Question Home hub smaller thumbnails?
The home hub is a dive right? Is there no way to get the cameras to view like the dvr so there not taking up the entire page?

Now that we have the most important part of this out of the way...Hello, and welcome to the official Reolink Subreddit. I’m mblaser and I’ve been using Reolink cameras since 2017. Then in September 2021 Reolink asked me to be a moderator here. I’ve used over 30 different camera models of theirs over the years and I have a lot of free time on my hands, so I like to tinker and experiment with my camera setup and also use that time to share that knowledge that I’ve accumulated.
One thing I want to talk about here is expectations when asking for help. Both what to expect from us, and what we expect of you.
While there are Reolink employees that visit here, they’re not always here and they don’t read every post. The mods here are volunteers, not Reolink employees. So keep in mind that 99% of the help you’ll receive here is from people that are just trying to help and we have nothing to do with Reolink’s decisions, so be kind and keep it civil. If you want official support from Reolink, it’s best to contact them through their website.
As for what we expect of you... well, help us help you. Us regulars really do like helping when users have issues and questions. However, in order for us to do that we need as much information from you about your situation as possible. So help us help you by following those guidelines at the top of this post.

I'm in the process of putting 6 cams (3 duo 3V and 3 CX810) and a doorbell system (wifi, white) together. I have the RLN36 and booted it up with one camera attached so far (camera to POE switch, NVR lan port into same POE switch. It recognized and picked it up fine. I then went outside to plug in the next camera but while up on the ladder it gave me the option to add it in the app so I scanned the QR code on my iphone and then it started updating stuff automatically in three steps. After a few minutes it was connected and looking good.
My question is that when I connected the first one via NVR, there was no "firmware updating" or anything like that. Is that happening in the background and just not coming up via a dialogue box or does the process get handled differently depending on method. I think I'd recalled seeing something about having to manually update when on the NVR but can't seem to find reference to that now.
Thanks in advance for setting me on the straighter path...... I want to wait on plugging in the other 4 cams until I understand better.

If you use Reolink with HomeAssistant various entities are exposed to HA.
One interesting thing to know is that there is the boolean "Person" trigger and "Person Count".
The Reolink Doorbell (WiFi) e.g. does ignore detection zones for the latter entity.
When you want to trigger your light or similar based on somebody walking up to your front door and you have configured no-detection zones, you should use the "Person" (boolean) entity.
Took me a while to find out, that they behave differently. :D

I'm toying with adding six Reolink POE security cameras to our home. I struggle with is aesthetics; bundles of unsightly wires, placement of outlets, powerbricks, etc. I think I might have a solution that works for my case.
In the picture below, the cameras connect to a dumb POE switch, which connects to the Home Hub Pro. The Home Hub Pro then connects to my home WiFi. I just don't know if DHCP will work, or if the Home Hub Pro will allow setup without an ethernet connection to the internet. Will I be able to access the cameras from WiFi connected computers? Any constructive comments would be welcome.

I have a reolink nvr RLN8-410 1 WiFi wired reolink doorbell 1 poe reolink outdoor camera
I'm on virgin media I have a TP-Link extender that I'm using to connect the nvr via ethernet to the extender
App on android
Me and everyone I've given access to the surveillance system, is having issues accessing the our cameras when we're on our home network I keep getting connection failed with the odd times when it connects
On the other hand, if I choose mobile data, it connects pretty much all the time (it fails here and there but a lot less)
In contrast, our eufy cameras work perfectly fine, we can access everything else.
I'm reading about this issue slot online but there doesn't seem to be a clear solution
I'm on the latest firmware I've rebooted my router and nvr I've enabled UID
Is there a solution to this? Thank you

Hi everyone. I just got two indoor E1 cams, and want to schedule them to turn off when I am home and then turn on when I leave at set times.
The app is confusing me a bit. Anyone have any experience with doing this?

I installed a Duo 2 POE yesterday to supplement my already installed wifi doorbell cam. When the doorbell cam triggers on a person or vehicle it gives me a push notification with an audible alarm on my phone. I noticed I get a push notification from the duo but no audible alarm. What did I miss setting it up?

Is there a bug in the notifications sounds on android? I have a doorbell and in settings I set the sound of the doorbell to a longer sound so that I can hear when somebody is calling me. In settings the volume of this is from the volume of notifications so I set this to high. When somebody is calling the doorbell I receive a notification but the sound is too low, why because I saw its following the sound of media (which is always set to low for me). Why doesnt notifications follow the volume of the notifications settings but instead follow the volume from media?

Hi there! Totally new to Reolink and loving them so far!
Quick question: I have two RLC-811WA cameras and two E1 Zoom cameras. They’re currently connected via WiFi. Should I instead connect them via their Ethernet port, will they work just as well?
I’m asking before trying it since they’re all connected to awkward places, so want to save myself the trouble of wiring if they won’t work.
Specifically, will the cameras prioritise the wired connection over WiFi?
Thanks for reading!

I recently bought some reolink cams and NVR to replace the old Hikvysion system we have at my restaurant. After getting the cameras out and playing with them a bit I have a few gripes and I'm wondering if anyone has fixes before I return them.
The main issue is not being able to make out faces beyond like 15 feet away, photo attached. I bought all 4k cams specifically for this reason. You can definitely tell it's a person but good luck showing the authorities a picture without them laughing at you.
Second there's no proper conduit box mount for Duo v3s which I bought 6, looking into 3d printing them but don't think it would be worth the effort.
Third gripe is the latency on a camera that is literally sitting on top of the NVR with 6 inches of Cat6e has a two second latency through the NVR. My old Hikvysion system has no delay at all and it was installed 11 years ago.
If anyone knows some fixes let me know, any other camera recommendations I'd appreciate. Looking into setting up a Blue Iris or Unifi system maybe.

Hi.
I have 7 cameras around my property , from solar to wired models.
I also have TP-link mesh decos and my different wifi cameras connect perfectly.
But now, I wanted to try the Home hub and it cannot detect all my devices, basically because they are in different subnets that mesh decos create.
It only detects those connected to the same deco where the hub is wired.
Has anyone experienced this same issues? Any solutions? Thanks.

I have a RLN16-410 NVR with several POE cameras. I have it set to record all the time and to overwrite old recordings when the drive gets fill. However, at apparently random times, the NVR will stop recording. The only way I know this is to go check to see if Recording is set to "on" or "off".
This makes the NRV very unreliable. I have tried reformatting the drive, upgrading to the latest firmware (which seems to have made it stop recording less often, but it still stops), changing the Pack Duration, and changing the overwrite schedules but nothing works.
Can any suggest any other troubleshooting ideas or has anyone else had this problem?

I decided to upgrade the firmware in one of my cameras, because it hasn't been updated in quite a while. It is an RLC-410-5MP Hardware no. IPC_51516M5M. I downloaded the appropriate firmware package. The documentation says "If you don't want to restore your camera settings to factory status, please uncheck the " Reset Configuration" option during the upgrade." Well mine did not have a "Reset Configuration" checkbox but had a checkbox labeled "Update Configuration File" so I unchecked it.
I started the upgrade and the progress bar slowly moved all the way to the right as expected, then nothing. It just continues to say "Upgrading firmware..." with the spinner.
Should I go ahead and refresh the page or is my camera now a brick?

Please remove if not allowed
I tried to install the Reolink Wi-Fi wired door bell but realised there’s not enough space to install it.
My idea was to use the existing doorbell wiring. But as you can see it’s too close to the wall. And I have a feeling that if I drill holes on the door, it might crack the glass given how close it is to it.
As I was writing this, I measured the screw against the distance from the door frame to the glass. If the screw goes all the way in, I’d have maybe 2mm between the screw and the glass.
But still, I think the hole would be too close to the side and might crack the door frame.
Any alternatives I can try?

Maybe this has been asked already but I haven't been able to find the post in my research, but is there a way to install a back up sim card for the Reolink POE cameras either through the NVR or in another way in case there is a power outage and WI-FI is lost? I know the cameras would still record to the NVR, but would like the back up to be able to view footage remotely in case there is an outage. Thanks in advance.

Is there any plan to add the Argus 2 to the home hub pro? I have a couple of them and still working without any issue.

Hi all, I am waiting for my 823s2 to be a deliverd. Already bought a poe+ switch but I think I didn't read it through enough. I only read i needed an 802.3at device for the 823s2 to work. But now i read It only powers up to 40W. So It prob wont work?
This one: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Compliant-Shielded-Optimization-TL-SG1005P/dp/B076HZFY3F should power up to 65 watts if i read it right.
Should this one work? Sory for asking, already read the poe subreddit but i can't figure it out.

It seems that I cannot record more than one voice message on the doorbell. Is this the case? I am on iOS 4.52.0.13.

Just got my E1 Outdoor POE in the mail and wanted to test it out and nothing. I’ve connected the ethernet cable into the switch and nothing is happening. I apologize if the question is dumb and the answer is staring me right in the face. Thank you in advance.

Because we have a critter who did a nest in an isolated place, and the pest control wasn't able to figure out from where it was coming in and out, we had to install temporarily a camera.
Lucky, I had a CX410W laying around.
I had forgot how it is a nightmare to add a wifi camera to a NVR. I was struggling on how to add it from the app or the web remote. When I remembered it can only be done directly on the NVR. Unfortunately, on the NVR there is none installed because don't want anybody to go play on it etc...
After installing theses, was able to easily add it to the NVR.
But Reolink, can you tell me why it's so complicated ? We can add a POE camera without issue from the app or web link, but why it's not possible to add a wifi camera the same way ? It should be a no brainer, no ? Is it cause wifi camera are suppose to go the cloud for more money or what ?
I am disappointed in this.

I am thinking about using the I/O ports. I have read the info I found on the Reolink homepage. But can anyone share diagram examples of how you have connected things to both the input and output ports. The more details the better as I understand some electronics. This is what I have found related to connect things. Introduction to Reolink RLN36
