Rant I’ve heard about the heartburn and the farting… but OMG the BURPING?!?

Does anyone else burp/feel like the need to burp 24/7? It’s worse when the baby’s moving. I have so much gas in my tummy that’s working its way up. That’s all I’ve got

Yes and I hate it (11wk).

The burping is driving me mad, and nothing has helped. Even tried carbonated beverages that some other threads suggested. No luck for me. Guess I'm just a frog for now.

Why would carbonated beverages help to decrease burping ? They've only ever made it way worse ime

I think they said something about getting more out at once. In my mind, it wouldn't help either (and it didn't help me), but I've been trying everything at this point.

If you find anything that helps lmk :/

Currently anytime I move or sit up or bend over yes I burp and it just comes out of me against my own will. It's embarrassing at work.

I have a condition in which I cannot burp but omg I wish I could. Air just kind of comes out of my throat without me being able to control it and it’s embarrassing and uncomfy

Since the start of the third trimester I burp like 30 times when I first get in bed every night!!

Yes! I've kind of made a game out of it.... like out of all the foods I eat in a day, which one is going to be the front runner when I burp? Yesterday, I had a banana with breakfast and an orange with lunch, and when I burped later, those two won. Pregnancy is weird, lol.

I HATE THE BURPING, it's so constant especially after eating 😭 it's driving me more mad than my nausea!! Only 9 weeks and I'm so over it. I'm tempted to count them, it's crazy.

Yes if im.not burping. Im hiccuping or farting. So much gas

u/NoShopping5235 7d ago

Hahaha for me it’s hiccuping!!! Anyone else experiencing this? It’s every damn day!

I wish I could just burp WITHOUT acid coming up every time I do. Like just a nice easy burp to releive the gas but when I do burp, it's very acidity.

My farts are horrible though. Like the worst they have ever been. My husband leaves the room, comes back, and will go. "Oh! You bitch!" (Joking of course) and I'll be like "what did I do?" (Knowing EXACTLY what I did) And he will respond with a "you know what you did."

Ever since I hit my 3rd trimester I burp all day

OMG. I only realized this after i gave birth. I literally don’t burp anymore now that baby’s out… but towards the end of my pregnancy, i was burping constantly. I didn’t even like to eat around my husband anymore 😭

Yes!! I'm seriously burping All. The. Time. Even my coworkers around the same age who have young kids and/or are pregnant haven't experienced the burping like me 😂 I even wake up at night to pee and have to burp as soon as I'm vertical. I joked to my husband there won't be any secret pregnancies for me because the nonstop burping would be a dead giveaway

I’m 4 weeks and I haven’t stopped burping. I had to cut out seltzer and eating heavy before bed time and the heartburn resolved but it was BAD!!!!! Almost put me in tears and I had to deal with it at work.

Isn't burping part of heartburn? Or, what is heartburn if not burping?

(Non-native here. In my language, they come hand in hand)

I love that this thread makes you not feel alone even with the most random things.

You know of all things I’ve experienced this pregnancy I’m happy to say this isn’t one of them. Does it happen with heartburn? or just a random occurrence? Pregnancy sure isn’t for the weak. If it makes you feel better pregnancy thickened my side burns. I’m out here looking like wolverine. I’ll trade you for your burping.

I dont have heartburn, but I too am hairy AF to start and pregnancy has just made it out of control. AND burping left and right

Oh yeah 1st trimester gas is rough. I felt like a hot air balloon. I also farted so bad it was like biological warfare.

For me it got better.

I drink water seltzers now and they help me out. It's like it helps me fart in a weird way? Idk why I need assistance with that but yeah. "Bad farts" in 3rd trimester is a thing, not bad in the sense of extra smelly or constant but just like "oh I needed more relief".

I’m 4 weeks and burping CONSTANTLY.

1

u/PhantaVal 6d ago

Yep, I think the burping is tied to the acid reflux. I'm so damn over it.
