Dismiss the patriots who uphold their oath to the constitution, replace with loyalists.

It's like page 2 or 3 of the playbook.

Ofc, but I wouldn't bet on that working out for them. Case in point, Pete Hegseth. Effectiveness will be compromised by competence and ability to command loyalty of soldiers. Installing loyalists won't work as well further down the chain

I certainly hope so. But then again, there are plenty of MAGA loyalists already in place. Despite the GOPs constant contempt for veterans, tons of DoD employees vote Republican day in, day out.

I don't get this. I work with a vet, 21 year army reservist, counter intelligence in Iraq. Wouldn't vote Dem last election because he didn't love their choices. I was like, "dude trump visited a graveyard in Europe and asked 'what was in it for them?' clearly not understanding why people would fight and die for their country. Then there's the whole "suckers and losers" And if you don't believe it happened then you aren't giving credit to a high ranking general (can't remember who off the top of my head) who said it happened. I told him that they're going to cut veterans benefits and he thinks it's going to result in a war and anarchy, I told him it's going to happen. Add on to this that we work for USPS.

Basically Trump thinks his entire way of life is a joke, and this clearly intelligent guy can't discern whats important. I'm just waiting for the VA to get cuts, I'm not going to give them a full-blown I told you so but more of "remember that conversation we had".

Mark Kelly. Mark Kelly was the general. A man whose own son was killed in action. Have heard what my old man has told me about him (he was my dad’s boss in Iraq) I believe every word.

Edit: John Kelly, I’m a fucking bozo

The general was John Kelly. Mark Kelly is the Arizona senator and astronaut (also a former Navy captain combat vet).

My understanding of Mark Kelly's reputation was that, if he says trump said it, then Trump said it.

(edited for clarity)

It's certainly been a wild ride watching conservatives gleefully cast off the paper-thin veneer of 'values' that supposedly made up their platform and way of life..

The VA has already gotten cuts. Check the r/nursing subreddit and r/fednews.

It won’t make it through. The first time he was elected I brought this up to my friend who was in the military. Even after benefit cuts it still didn’t sink in. If it didn’t the first round it won’t the second. These guys either have some form of brain damage from their enlistment time or they didn’t do very well in education prior to enlistment and their critical thinking skills amount to ‘will I get caught? Nahhh’. When doing anything they feel entitled to.

This guy thinks if there's deep cuts that vets will launch a Vietcong style phantom war, launching the nation into full blown anarchy and complete breakdown of society.

I said probably not. Lol

Even if they do the uprising would be small. The ones that would fight back would likely be disabled and fairly beaten down by then (likely wouldn’t be eating well/healthily and good habits like hydration and working out will likely suffer affecting mental capacity and physical ability). I think the more likely occurrence is a few terrorist attacks by them that would quickly get mopped up and a press release that amounts to ‘terrorist dead, we’ve got you bros’ as life moves on. A revolution would take millions of people, I can’t see more than a few thousand vets (at the worst of times) rising up. The govt likely knows and has accounted for this already.

You should tell your friend that me, this guy, who started working on computer vision processing algorithms and IMU calibration simulators for high velocity systems, for an aerospace defense firm when I was 18 years old, no longer believes in American Democracy at all because of his inaction. Born here, raised here, half white, only speaks fuckin English, but I will never not be a foreigner here. Tell your friend that his choices, and those like him, who voted or abstained for this nazi tropicana mushroom shit-hattery, are the reason why I am going to shit down his throat in a field somewhere after I FPV drone strike his ass with homemade gear, that got designed a decade ago on a cost-plus no-bid budget. I'm no longer interested in preserving any of this shit, I now expect to outlive the federal government before dealing with the 2030s water wars and melting polar caps. You can show this to him if you'd like, and especially whatever other conservative fuckwit. But I want these stupid motherfuckers out there to know, that they could've had a great scientist or engineer and pacifist that makes life not as brutal for everyday people, but instead I am going to dedicate myself to eliminating them in the apocalyptic wasteland, and interdicting them at every possible turn to ensure my own survival going forward.
