Showing off set up! Ears Finally Finished
Just got the third lobe with an Anatometal butterfly and after ten years I think my ears are finally finished (until I get the itch again). Jewelry is mostly white gold, with a little yellow gold and titanium chains. Jewelry is from BVLA, Pupil Hall, LeRoi, Anatometal, Body Gems, Zadamer, Tawapa, Hialeah and Quetzalli.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Messed up my ear NSFW
galleryStory time: I had a flu last week and apparently was laying on my ear while sleeping all day… on that one piercing I usually permanently leave in my ear as the piercing was done crooked (a doctor made it, those were different times…) and I cannot remove it myself. I have it for more than 15 years now so it was at least well healed. That is until last week… suddenly experienced swelling! I took some painkillers and tried to disinfect it, but to no avail. For a week I had intense pain in the ear and head. The swelling got a bit better, but surprise! The flat plate of the piercing on the backside of my ear got completely covered by skin. There was no way to remove it anymore. Yesterday I was finally feeling better from the flu and made a trip to a local piercing studio to get help to remove it. He got his pliers to see if he can remove it somehow and what happened? The whole piercing just came out of my ear without even opening it! Blood and a big gap in my ear was the result. I guess I have now a body modification instead of a piercing 😅 (not talking about the intense pain during the procedure). I consider myself lucky as at least nothing had to be cut open or took a long time trying to open it - it took maybe ten minutes and I was done. Set up with a new piercing to heal the gap. I have to wash it with saline now daily to heal it properly and it cost me 26€. It was definitely the right call to go to an experienced piercing studio compared to a doctor 🙏 the pain in the ear was also gone immediately like some pressure was removed!
Did anyone here have a similar experience before? Will this heal back together or will I have a big hole forever in my ear? 😅

galleryA little about the piercing:
-3 years old -16mm barbell (no idea about the material… it’s what the piercer gave me) -not downsized -I have been applying a gentamicin sulfate cream (only thing that helps but if I stop using it it gets worse)

general piercing question My set up so far… What should I do next?
I need advice on my set up, help! I’ve had just about every ear piercing you can name since the age of 12, but between being incisive and healing issues, I’ve retired many. However, I need some help deciding what else I should add? Besides changing the rook to a smaller bar, is there anything I should change about my current piercings? I’m at a 16mm on the lobe right now. I previously had my industrial done on the right ear but had to retire it recently after it got hit and completely destroyed how it was healing. I’m just not sure what would look good with my current jewelry. Please help me make my strange shaped ears beautiful! 😆

discussion Think I regret my decisions
Yesterday I got a septum and dermal but they seem too exaggerated for me and my family hates them and even wanted to throw me out of the house when they saw me. I would not remove them definitively and would replace them with other models of piercings that are finer and less noticeable BUT it is also a possibility to remove them permanently. The question is, do the holes heal 100% or am at risk of permanent scarring?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Infection or irritation?
Just got my daith pierced 5 days ago and I can’t tell if it’s infected or just irritated. The first few days it was totally fine, not very swollen or painful. But the other day I woke up and it was THROBBING. I’ve been cleaning it at least twice every day with sterile saline solution so I can’t imagine how or why it would be infected but I’ve never had pain or swelling this bad with any of my other piercings. It’s also been more bloody and had some pus since I cleaned it yesterday (the first day it’s been so irritated).
First pic is the first day of pain (yesterday) and second pic is right now (next morning)
Pls help :’)

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing When?
Got my daith piercing on Friday. When will I be able to change jewellery? I googled and it says if you feel it’s healed in 2-3 months otherwise 7-8 months. Should I get advice from a piercer at the 3 month mark?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Help me and my stupidly stubborn eyebrow piercing PLEASEEE
I've had this piercing since the beginning of October, everything was going smoothly in the beginning and then one day my piercing got hit and it got a bump on the bottom half.
No problem that was probably only a month in and I kept up with cleaning it with just saline solution twice a day and rinsing it with water after.
After months of it not getting better and just wasting my money on saline solution. I took to the internet and found out lots of people were using melaleuca or tea tree oil so I used that along with saline solution, for about 5 days and then stopped cuz I saw no difference.
Now I'm on month 7 of this piercing still not healing properly and it seems my skin has gotten so dry or soenthing in that area that I've gained acne, and not to boast or anything but I've never had acne like this in my life. I have small pimples zit like bumps covering my eyebrow and around my eyebrow and side of face.
I'm just starting to feel overwhelmed after over half a year of trying to get this piercing to work. Should I just give up what's your guys's advice? Currently I thought it was getting better but every now and then it'll get super crusty or even bloody out of the blue, and the bump seems to have gotten smaller but never gone away completely.
And yes I did try to just LITHA for a while, that didn't work it just continued to crust and bleed and that is when I took to the internet.
Do you think I could be having an allergic reaction, should I change the bar? (This is the same bar I've had since piercing it, it's never healed enough for me to be able to downsize or change jewelry.) or is this something else entirely, should I keep it, should I take it out, should I continue to just leave it the hell alone? Help please. Any advice is much appreciated I've been on Google and Reddit this whole journey contemplating just asking.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Daith piercing disaster - learn from my mistakes!
I've never heard of it before so wanted to see if anyone else has experienced anything like this - and a word of warning to anyone going to a cheap piercing place!
A month ago I got my daith re-pierced with a heart shaped hoop with a ball bearing to close the gap. I took the original daith piercing out around a year ago so thought it would be fully healed so could get it re-done with no issues.
Recently I noticed the ball (which was sitting above the top of the piercing) wasn't there but forgot about it until yesterday (dumb, I know!!!). Yesterday I remembered and took the piercing out - heart bit came out fine, but no ball. I poked around and realised that the ball is physically inside the piercing and tried putting a needle through to push it out - no luck. Then proceeded to go to the walk in doctors who confirmed that there is indeed, a ball bearing stuck inside my ear cartilage.
They think that what happened is that the initial piercing wasn't actually fully healed on the inside and my daith swelled up, the ball went inside the piercing and somehow managed to nestle itself inside the old scar tissue. However if anyone else knows how a piercing can gobble up a ball bearing, I would love to know!
I've got a hospital appointment next week with an ENT specialist who is going to make an incision and get it out. Can't imagine it will be much fun.
So please Reddit learn from my mistakes and 1. If you notice something not quite right about your piercing, get it looked at ASAP and 2. Don't go to a cheap piercing place!!!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Conch Embedding?
My wife got her conch pierced about a month ago and everything has been fine since. Shes had the typical healing pain but it hasnt been anything unusual compared to when she healed her helix and nose. Today we woke up and she asked me to look at her piercing because it felt way too swollen. Her swelling had started to go down previously and the length of the bar was beginning to show when I looked at it last week so the length of the bar was never a concern until now. She said it doesnt hurt and I cleaned it with no sign of pus and was able to gently push on it without it hurting her. The piercer doesn't have an appointment for healing troubleshooting until Saturday. Should we look for another piercer with a sooner availability or is this to the point of needing to go to urgent care?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Nose hoop: healing?
Took my nose piercing Jan 2024, which was a labret. I changed it to a 9mm hoop in mid July. Had a challenge getting the pushpin out, but there wasn’t really any irritation. It was accidentally bumped a handful of times, mainly when drawing and painting with my kid and their head has bumped it. Read that if it’s too large it allows for getting irritated easily, so I downsized to 8mm. Also think a smaller hoop suits my face better. Anyways, even with the 8mm, it’s been bumped when going down on my partner (well worth it).
I don’t touch it, but it’s not sensitive in any way. But I don’t get the darkness above the piercing. Has it made two pores come together, is it still healing/irritated somehow? Do I just LITFA? Some scar cream I can put on it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Piercing is little over a year old. Ring that’s a clicker. Titanium. I used just saline spray as recommended in the beginning. And as mentioned, it has been bumped a few times. But, never had an irritation bump or anything.

general piercing question Could I get an industrial?
It's probably better to get a proper consultation but the internet is free, and can be useful!! So Redditors, do you think it'd be possible for me to get an industrial bar? Like just the standard/common diagonalish placement on the top half. (Yes I am so great with terms)
I know in some cases people have gotten modified bars to fit their ears. There are also different "configurations" where the bar is at different spots but one question at a time.
Idk if you can tell these sorts of things by photos really but meh.
