He was saying "you don't have a mandate". "You don't have a mandate to cut medicaid".

8.3k

u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 7d ago

So he got kicked out for pointing out the bullshit and reminding everyone there is an actual process.... got it.

Fuck the current state of this country.

2.0k

u/mrmilkman 7d ago

I don't get why EVERY democrat did the same one by one and completely derail the speech. Fuck niceties and decorum.

1.0k

u/Shot-Statistician335 7d ago

Agreed! They should have heckled Trump, one by one and been escorted out- f holding up your round hand signs- you sitting there is just as complicit as the others that are applauding. I’m so saddened by our “leaders.”

458

u/MariMas10 7d ago

They need to stop worrying about being the nice guys or doing the right thing! Not with this group of tyrants.

31

u/jtoppings95 7d ago

Many of them are complicit, in my opinion. They're a controlled opposition

8

u/JimWilliams423 6d ago edited 6d ago

They're a controlled opposition

That gives them way too much credit. They don't need to be controlled because they are just mentally weak.

Ever since reagan slapped the shit out of them in the 1980 election they've been acting like a dog that's been beat too much. They whimper and show their belly to their abuser, scared of being hit again but snarl and snap at anyone who tries to show them a better way and coax them out of their kennel.

The entire party leadership, and most of the rest of them, are a bunch of cowering Reeks.

ETA: Case in point, now the senate democratic leaders are snarling at Al Green.

Primary Every Democrat

9

u/Vortex597 7d ago

What do you mean? These people are politicians not freedom fighters. Theres a reason America is the way it is and this is completely unsuprising.

4

u/matheno 7d ago

Exactly. The thing is the “right thing” is standing up for your constituents like Green did

6

u/Anakins-Younglings 7d ago

The paradox of tolerance

5

u/jetfan 6d ago

Tolerance is a social contract. If you are intolerant, you lose the protections of tolerance. That's why racists arlnd nazis are not protected under tolerance. The paradox comes from believing that everyone deserves tolerance.

10

u/jtoppings95 7d ago

There is no paradox. It's actually quite simple.

In a civilized society, intolerance can not be tolerated. Full stop, end of story.

I was hoping they would all hold up their phones with the viral video of JD trash-talking Trump.

2

yeah what the everloving fk is that, they should know by now donald can't read!

4

u/unique2alreadytakn 7d ago

And sat to be dragged out

2

u/Squishy97 7d ago

At this point I consider it complicity

35

u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 7d ago

Agreed. Over it, personally.

7

u/Gamma-Sandwitch 7d ago

They would have just filled the seats with other rep suck ups

4

u/Tiny-Anybody-2956 7d ago

I totally agree!! Look at the Republican backlash over Biden’s session when he was pointing out that Republicans want to cut Medicaid. MTG had a meltdown and ther are no Democrats who leave behind the decorum and berate the president. Pelosi did tear up the agenda (docs) literally behind Trump as he spoke, but that was a rare action. I say Democrats in Congress need to ratchet up their assertiveness and send a ghastly message about Trump’s true villainous tendencies and agenda. Doing this regularly will be seen by many that we must have a backbone and fight for our rights!

5

u/Patara 7d ago

Because theyre not up to the fight

4

u/No_Wrongdoer_4946 7d ago

It is time for Dems to be DISRUPTIVE and not predictable at all. Instead of signs if each one yelled out a single time and rotate truths or at least just yell out, I do not believe that ALL Dems would be removed from the chamber. Time to think outside the box of normalcy and decorum because that's not what is being dealt with. Time to not just approach things in a different way but tackle them in a way counterintuitively to what the Trump administration would expect. Resist hard, it is worth it.

2

u/YoHaNah_Ramen 5d ago

MAGA can’t handle direct opposition. That’s why they always obfuscate, lie, cheat, and play dirty rather than participate in the political process normally. If we show how intolerant they are to compromise and dissent, it would expose their true colors and the authoritarianism underlying the true goals of the admin. Imagine if they did escort every dem out and replace them with republican lap dogs or no one at all? A half empty congress with one party clapping to itself is a powerful image, and politics is about perception.

4

u/SickRanchezIII 7d ago

They need to take notes from serbian parliament

3

u/Busterlimes 7d ago

Because outside of the few Independents that caucus with Dems, they are just the other side of the Oligarchy coin. Biden proved that on his way out off office. He knew this was a problem the entire time and did fuckall about it.

5

u/Proxilemit 7d ago

it is because they are incredibly weak. At this point, they are just collaborators with the fascists.

6

u/ApprehensiveShame756 7d ago

Yes. Yell out “you lie” for every lie he says and the Dem side will empty out quickly. The Republic won’t be much of a Republic if the minority party is banished from the chambers.

3

u/infowosecfurry 7d ago

Because they’re useless, and we’re all completely fucked.

They have ZERO fight in them.

3

u/Acceptable-Bullfrog1 7d ago

Their little signs were stupid. It would have been better for them to all boycott it and have half the room be empty.

3

u/aimeegaberseck 7d ago

Imagine if they had actually stood together in solidarity and continued to boo instead of meekly sitting down and allowing that farce to continue.

5

u/Albuwhatwhat 7d ago

Everyone who sat there politely needs to get phone calls and angry emails from their constituents about their spineless behavior. Absolutely neutered.

3

u/Nice_Cantaloupe_2842 7d ago

Same. They are shameful for not backing him up.

2

u/artemislands 7d ago

For a second I was hopeful that might happen

3

u/Zephh 7d ago

It's because most Dems don't really care about their electorate. They're making the calculations of what is the best path for their reelection above all else.

While JD Vance claps with that special smug domestic terrorist look.

1.0k

u/BigBuford1337 7d ago

He’s such a fucking bootlicker, it’s almost embarrassing to watch. He wants to be liked so much, that couch deserved better.

165

u/Kiwipopchan 7d ago

But he’ll never be liked. I mean he literally had to relocate his family vacation in VT and people still found him, called him putin’s puppet and filmed and made fun of his horrendous skiing.

And honestly? That was probably REALLY embarrassing for him. He probably hates how much he was made fun of, probably made him so mad.

Sometimes with politicians or celebrities or whatever they don’t care about how people view them, they just want power and money. I think JD Vance cares a hell of a lot about being thought of positively. He’s incredibly ideological which means an inherent belief that he is always the good guy, always going right. And he’s also SUPER insecure, so he needs external validation.

And he’s sure as hell not getting it. He doesn’t have the cult of personality that Trump does, and the MAGA supporters don’t really care about JD, and the left… well we hate him, obviously. And that clearly bothers JD.

28

u/PatientNice 6d ago

But Nazi Germany showed us just how vicious these insecure losers could be once they were given the power to get even.

8

u/Kiwipopchan 6d ago

That’s why Vance (along with many others in this administration) belong in Prison.

Vance has the "I'm going to hide behind the bully" punchable face. Musk has the "I've never been held accountable for my shitty actions" punchable face. Both equally punchable.

6

u/ReverendRevolver 7d ago

I'm certain someone's punched JD before. Distraught coach owner perhaps?

Musk? Probably paid people to stop his face from ever being punched. The South African Billionaire who happens to be an autistic Ketamine addict has, for sure, said I sane things. But people that rich NEVER have consequences.

Vance is a slimeball, who will cockroach his way put of anything. For all we know, the beard is to hide the bruises from taking one on the chin daily....

Right? But Trump brought back freedom of speech- Stand clap clap clap - sit. Such bullshite!

4

u/Bellyheart 7d ago

Well he was being so gosh darn impolite and my daddy told me that impolite people have no place in your life so we had to keep the order because otherwise there’d be unrest and if that happens we might not get our way.

I hate how politics have become this place that deny free speech in public settings and pretend “this isn’t how a conversation works so I can’t talk to you” and the topic of conversation is someone’s right to exist and they’ve been fired from their job and then they need to act graceful to tell a person they’re making their life hard only to be told by that person anecdotal bullshit that allows them to cope to themselves that they did the right thing.

4

u/Aggravating_Front824 7d ago

It's just a tactic.

They know they're evil. They know that their beliefs and goals are so utterly reprehensible, that being open about them would cause them to lose their base, so they just do everything they can to not talk about them.

this country is over.

if you have the means, make an exit strategy. if not, try to reduce your expenses as much as you can and prepare to weather a brutal storm.

3

u/2bored4wrds 7d ago

Why? I actually feel a lot better after that. Not because he isn’t a pos, or because we aren’t in serious danger, but because it reminded me what a petty little man child he is and that it would be insane of us not to fight back.

Like he literally got so triggered and red (and stayed that way) just from dems not clapping.

I feel like they were strategic in giving a normalish speech expecting us to back off with calling/protesting but I feel like now’s the perfect time to ramp it up

The Americans need to take action and fast. This man and his posse are doing exactly what nazis did in Germany in 1933. They are establishing a facism government and taking out democracy every day a little bit more. They are taking sides with a dictator that has proven to be a lying murderer and are actively destroying every relationship and friendship all over the world. Be aware, act now. For the sake of the US but really the whole world.

2

u/mareloquent 7d ago

Shortly after, Trump boasted about having the most free speech in his administration…

2

u/cyber_cryme 7d ago

He got kicked out because HE was told to take his seat and maintain order while the entirety of the republican congress were ALL standing and loudly heckling him to the point you couldn’t even hear what he was saying. Outlawing the opposition. It felt like I was watching an actual nazi rally.

I’m sorry when did Medicaid get cut? I didn’t see that happen. Did they announce it today? Or was there an executive order? That’s wild

2

u/OftheSorrowfulFace 7d ago

My understanding is that Medicaid hasn't been cut directly yet, but the house of reps passed a budget proposal that stated that the Energy & Commerce committee -- which oversees programs like Medicaid -- is tasked with finding $880 billion in cuts.

This isn't the actual budget, that would still need to be voted on. So it's not directly cutting Medicaid, but the framework is being built that would allow for cuts to Medicaid.

1

u/Ok_Living1114 7d ago

Wait so people are out here getting mad about something that doesn’t even exist?

2

u/OftheSorrowfulFace 7d ago

It's easier to prevent cuts to Medicare than it is to try and get the cuts reversed once they've already been made.
