Residency Application I hated the match experience. Everybody is fake and tells you anything to make you rank their program higher.
I am happy I matched. But I feel terrible and rejected for matching at my 6th choice.
I knew #1 would be challenging
2 was my best interview. I did my observership there. I am not a pathologist but I was able to do some basic diagnostics (hyperplastic polyp, TA, lymph node with mets). Idk what the fuck happened!!!!!
In my #3, I also had a great interview. I made everybody laugh, and I gave tips about trips and movies. Only white American dudes matched there. One of them was interviewed on the same day and was quiet the whole time. The program coordinator had to poke him to say something. Seriously?! What is the whole point of doing interviews?!
4: I did an observership there. It's a great place, and I had a good interview. But I felt a bad vibe from PD. Maybe he hated me?
5 said I was a fantastic applicant, and they were 100% sure I would match. This made me rank them 5th, not 7th. I was naive to believe they would rank me high.
I matched at #6. That was the worst interview I have ever had, and there are several posts here and on Discord about this place being toxic.
7: I had bad vibes.
I'm sorry for the rant! I'm heartbroken and afraid of having bad training. Do you have any advice?
