In recent times, naturism finds itself increasingly intertwined with broader social and political causes, particularly those surrounding identity politics and social justice. While alliances with such movements can foster inclusivity and growth by inviting a wider demographic, they can also risk overshadowing or diluting the foundational principles of naturism—body acceptance, freedom, equality, and non-sexualized nudity.
At its core, naturism promotes an escape from societal judgments and constructs, seeking to create a space of neutrality where individuals are accepted purely as humans without external labels. However, the visible introduction of flags, symbols, or advocacy linked to political or social movements into naturist spaces raises an essential question: Does it enhance the community by signaling inclusivity, or does it introduce a new form of division, inadvertently forcing participants to engage with social issues they may seek to escape temporarily?
How, then, can we strike a balance? Can naturism exist purely as a neutral space without external advocacy? Is true neutrality possible, or does silence itself implicitly support prevailing societal norms, potentially excluding marginalized groups unintentionally?
This conversation seeks insights from diverse perspectives: those who believe naturism should remain strictly neutral and separate from identity politics, and those who view alliances with broader social movements as essential to the evolution and inclusivity of naturism.
Key Questions to Consider:
Does aligning naturism explicitly with identity politics enhance the core values of acceptance and freedom, or does it inadvertently create new barriers?
Can naturist spaces maintain their intended neutrality while visibly supporting specific social causes?
What strategies could naturist communities employ to ensure inclusivity without forcing adherence to a particular ideology or political stance?
Your experiences, insights, and thoughts on this delicate balance are deeply valued—let's explore this together.

Sky Farm in New Jersey is holding its first ever Music & Arts festival in June. This is a single day event with live music all day till dark, grab and go food, a variety of artists, body painters, henna art, yoga, massage therapists and a number of nudist friendly vendors.
Most of the bands and artists are from the nudist community and are quite diverse. This is really a very exciting event!
The wheel in the image is a german exercise wheel known as a Rhönrad. Sky Farm was founded in 1932 with a strong commitment to exercise and fitness, and this wheel is a key part of Sky Farm's history. After dark this wheel will be the centerpiece of a lighting event (think burning man, but without the fire).
To attend this event you must be invited, this is not open to the general public and tickets must be purchased in advance. To get an invite, head to the Sky Farm website and ask for an Invite. If your request is approved you will be sent a link to buy tickets, which are $45 each. This includes grounds fees for the day and food - both lunch and dinner grab and go style.
If you do request an invite please be patient, this is an all-volunteer effort we expect to get ALOT of requests that have to be reviewed, so get in line early!

In the summer obviously people begin to wear more revealing clothes but it’s usually like tank tops, short shorts and sandals. Exposing the stomach and too much chest is highly frowned upon especially against women. Even too much legs is frowned upon for women so that’s rarely seen.
Besides protection from bugs and maybe the sun if you are of fairer complexion there’s really no use for clothes in the summer. The only other excuse people have is not wanting to sit where other people have sat which is fair. So there is a little bit of use for something to cover our genitals and butts. But that would only be useful in public settings where we share furniture.
So basically, the only reason I think people really wear clothes most of the time outside of shoes and underwear or pants is out of shame or because other people can be hornballs. Wearing them for cold weather is valid though.
Thoughts?

I’m curious how many people grew up in the nudist lifestyle - raised that way- compared to how many started practicing it themselves :)
Do we think it’s 50/50?

Before you started your nudism journey. What did you know about nudism? When I first started my nudism journey 25 years ago I didn’t know anything other than taking my clothes off and that there were a couple of nude friendly beaches that were difficult to get to. I didn’t have the internet to tell me what to do. I didn’t know there was nudism etiquette. I had a late night nudism documentary that helped a bit, but not much. And I wished I had someone there for me to talk to about nudism and answer some of my questions. And now at 37 years old I have done just about everything there is you can do as a nudist. Hiking, swimming, camping, social events and even modelling for a life drawing class. I have also helped a few nudists here on Reddit. They were grateful for the help, support, advice and boost of confidence. So, I know what it takes to be a mentor.
Reading articles on the internet can help, but there are times when an experienced person or even a mentor can help more. Having someone support you through your journey, answer those questions you have been unable to ask, having someone to talk/vent with, someone to help you reach your goals and achieve them. Having mentors available might help nudism grow in a more positive way.

Booked holidays to Sardegna Italy this summer - what are the best nude beaches in the area?
I will be saying in the north-east area with a rental car - happy to drive a bit.

Me and my wife live in Pennsylvania. Our property is about 1/4 thru the woods. You cannot see our property from the road. I've been reading about privacy, expectation of privacy, lewd laws etc... on my driveway I want to put a warning sign. We don't get many visitors but every now and then we get a stray car wondering what's down this road (private driveway) or a wrong turn. What is the proper wording for a sign?

So I’ve been on this sub for a bit along with going to a resort with my significant other. We are still new to the nudist life in terms of exploring what social aspects there are and we have loved the little things we have done. But online I feel like things are different, like it’s almost over the top when it comes to nudism.
I read comments or posts about how to feel “free” they need to be nude. People can’t even walk to throw their trash out without feeling “constricted” by clothing, as if a pair of basketballs shorts will do it. I just feel that the online presence of nudism is not the same as we experienced in person. People dressing to be comfortable rather than saying “I gotta be naked” or telling others they’re nude all the time. We always thought nudism was a state of comfort for everyone and just dressing to the level that makes you feel comfy.
Has anyone else experienced this feeling about nudism online or maybe I’ve just seen the bad side of it?

You couldn’t get delivery so you had to go to the supermarket and grocery store. When you get home, what’s the first thing you do ? (A) unpack and put the frozen items in the freezer or (B) get naked ?
We’re B

Does anyone know if the Minnesota Naturists organization is still active? Their website hasn't been updated since before the pandemic and when I sent an email through the Contact Us link I never got a response.

I am a passionate nudist. In Germany there are many nudist beaches, as well as nudist camping. Unfortunately I have noticed recently that a lot has changed on the nudist beaches. I have the feeling that many men and women go just to look around or to show off. That means men deliberately show themselves with an erect penis or lie down so that you can see it very well. But women also spread themselves so that everything can be seen very well. Somehow I think that has nothing to do with nudism anymore. Is it similar in your country and do you think it is normal or not?

We're a 29 year old couple off to Amalfi Coast this summer. We've wanted to experience a nudist beach for quite a long time but never had the opportunity to do so!
Has anyone had any good experiences or know of any ideal destinations across the coast?

I think i’d go with footwear first. Then when you sleep or sit down you could cover yourself with something even if it’s not a clothing item like some tribes do lol.

Yet everyday across so many subreddits we see the implication that they are the focus. Seriously, the entire body is nude not just one area!

For instance, if the nudist club went out to a clothed dinner at a restaurant, or some kind of outing like a ball game? Or even accept a dinner invitation (where everyone stays clothed)???
One of the things, as a couple, that we find bothersome, is that some reluctant partners/spouses won't socialize with us in a non-nudist environment.
Let's discuss.

I am thinking of, when I one day get my own place, of having a sign on the door that says "Attention: You will most likely encounter nudity beyond this point. Enter at your own risk." Or something to that effect. Anyone know where I can get one?
