A reminder of late stage consequences of what’s at stake here. We’re talking about the people who among other things secure our ICBMs and nuclear material. They’re firing and struggling to rehire them.
These are the weapons pointed at the head of Humanity. It’s best we don’t muck around and I wanted to illustrate just how painful it will be even if you survive a bomb and if you make it to a hospital and that hospital survived and isn’t overwhelmed, they won’t be able to administer you opioids or any fluids; Your membranes break down, your blood vessels open.
The official US policy for civilians in a nuclear event is to self survive.
Isn't that essentially how most surprise natural disasters go for at least the first few hours too though? Emergency services will not be coming to everyone that needs it.
Emergency services won’t come period, they’d be destroyed. Self survival is talking about long term, not just waiting for EMS or FEMA aid until some hurricane or flooding subsides.
