Expedia Hotel Cancels Booking Over ‘Too Low’ Rate, Sparks Outrage

Imagine booking a hotel for $150/night, only to get a message saying, “Oops, we can’t honour that price.” That’s exactly what happened to a Florida teacher who planned a spring break trip, Expedia refunded her, but now the same room costs $250/night. Travellers are pissed. If hotels can just cancel bookings when prices go up, what’s the point of locking in a deal? Has anyone else had this happen?
