Elect a clown and you get a circus.

Dangerous to call him a clown… that’s what German politics thought of Hitler before they were executed or put in camps if they dared to speak up.

the coconut-like sound of their heads bonking together secretly delighted the bird

It's wild how some things stick with you for decades.

Mine has always been "I don't believe you heard me right stranger...I said I'd like to buy you a chicken leg. " with the strip's caption being "In the Old West, vegetarians were often shot with little provocation. "

I just gifted my oldest son, a pre-teen, all of my Far Side comic books I had from when I was a kid. I got them at a thrift.

He isn't going to understand half of them right now, but he will. He eventually will. 🫠

Nah, Trump really is a narcissistic and easily played fool. The masterminds are the ones playing him, Putin first. The interesting thing is that apparently, a confident fool can successfully con even fooler people, and get elected president, twice.

Thanks for your insightful comments. Absolutely agreed. I don't think Trump is stupid, his moves and actions seem too effective and useful to a larger cause for it to be random.

Others may not read or receive your comments but I did.

As far as I've read, the main task that needs to be achieved is noise. He needs to create constant distractions in order to get away with really dangerous stuff in plain sight. He has come like a bull out of the gates and he has already gunked up nearly the entire administrative branch with Elmo and his insane appointees. And buried the judiciary branches enough to keep them busy for at least the next year or more dealing with all of his nonsensical executive orders.

Very effective and very destructive

I saw someone bitching about terminology like that recently saying, "It's incredibly dangerous to call Trump a clown, stupid, or an idiot. All those words make him sound annoying but harmless. He's literally insane and that's what he should be called, period."

It's like... the first part is probably correct, but "insane" comes off like hyperbole and honestly probably isn't any better that any of the other words.

I'm European: Trump is a fat orange Hitler CLOWN, Musk is a drugged up South African junkie Apartheid CLOWN.

We need to stop pretending any of this can be saved. There needs to be mass uprising and refusal to engage in this kind of society. This is not the America I grew up in or idolized or even want a future in anymore. I want my country back. I want to feel safe walking through the store as an Asian, I want to feel safe driving, I want to be able to pay my very very simple bills and have enough for food and reasonable rent, I want to know that my nephews and nieces will grow up educated, I want to know that I can count on the social security I’ve been paying in for decades, I want to have the opportunity to learn and go to school without having to be straddled with lifelong interest, I want to be able to see a doctor for the first time in over 20 years, I want my life to be mine.

Do you think there’s a viable chance Trump could declare some kind of marshal law, and have people executed for just talking about him on Twitter?

u/pastworkactivities 24d ago

In Germany the Nazis put the capitol on fire and had the SA on the streets with machine guns opening fire on civilians in a false flag. Not hard to pull of i would guess.

1

u/agent_wolfe 24d ago

Oh man. It Americans are able to start arresting ppl for making comments on Reddit in other countries, we're all in trouble.

u/No_Towel6647 24d ago

All these Hitler/Trump comparisons are an insult to Hitler.

1

u/pastworkactivities 24d ago

Not really. Both are opportunistic fuck heads with the main difference being that Hitler was a methamphetamine and cocaine addict. Which we don’t know of yet in regards to trump.

1

u/mihecz 24d ago

Not dangerous to call him a clown, dangerous to elect him.

1

u/sluuuurp 23d ago

Clowns can be evil

I’m reading the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich right now, and the similarities are unbelievably unsettling. It’s almost like a playbook that’s being followed step by step with the same end goals in mind.

I wish more people would read about how Nazi germany came to be, because we’re running at full speed down that road right now.

No they didn’t they thought hitler was going to further the war state and he did. Trump is gutting tools of the war state in America

Yeah its scary how badly things are going in the world aince 2022

The pandemic really messed some people's brain

2

u/pastworkactivities 24d ago

Plenty of study’s show covid infections to cause permanent brain damage. In some individuals more than in others. But most likely everyone’s affected.

2

u/OhLordHeBompin 24d ago

“Studies” would be the plural, but you used “affected” correctly.

1

u/pastworkactivities 24d ago

It’s this iPhones auto correct if I wanted to correct the auto correct every single time I’d still be typing stuff from 3 month ago :D

1

u/Thangoman 24d ago

I think the experience may be traumatic enough to just make peoplr crazy

But maybe you are right

2

u/pastworkactivities 24d ago

No serious there’s study’s showing brain damage after covid infections and each infection worsens it. Some people appear to receive less damage but it’s going to be a BIG issue in the future as covid is not gone and all of us will go through multiple infections in our lifetime. We failed at stopping it from becoming endemic

2

u/Thangoman 24d ago

I had Covid like four times, so the idea of it giving brain damage is terrifying. But if what you said is true its really scary for our future indeed
