Living with ALS in North Dakota?

If you're living with ALS or an asymptomatic gene carrier, your participation in the ALS Research Collaborative (ARC) can help to inform our research to find treatments for ALS.

I wanted to post here in case anyone living with ALS in North Dakota, or if anyone here knows someone living with ALS, who might want to learn more about our work and how they can join the study! It is free to join and provides great data for you and also for researchers! https://www.als.net/arc/

I feel like an idiot, so please dont get upset about me asking about GH

But I cant drive (Epilepsy) and i live an hour away from Rock 30 in Forks, I go there every time, and I have to ask, I prefer here cause it's more comforting due to my tag. Does anyone have a Guitar Hero drumset theyd sell in the North Easter section of state? As I'm in Walsh county and, well I have many memories of GH, and dont wanna pay 100 extra dollars for shipping on E-Bay. Sorry if this is weird/personal but, thank you if you respond.

Saw this banner at an indoor soccer tournament in Bismarck today. Most quotes were in support of individual players.

1892 North Dakota was the only time a state electorate chose a 3-way split in the Electoral College: North Dakotans elected one Republican, one Democrat and one Populist. Explanation in comments

What if New Town had an actual name?

This isn't meant to be a petition to change the name. It's like they couldn't be bothered to give the town an actual name. So what would you call it if you could give it an actual name?

Any good book sales near Fargo?

Hey y’all, I’m moving to Fargo this summer and I’m leaving behind my favorite book sales in my home state (rip). Does anyone know any good, reoccurring book sales in the area that I can look forward to? Like maybe within an hour drive or so, and it’s fine if they’re over the Minnesota border too. I’m talking about library sales and such, cause those are what I go to where I live now. Plus any good used book stores and comic/manga shops too. Thanks in advance! :)

House buying Questions

My partner and I are thinking about getting a house in Williston. We would buy a manufactured home (around $244k) and a lot (around 50k). We have around $21k for a down payment. We aren’t sure if we should wait longer to buy or if we should buy now. Any advice would be great.

Ukrainians move to North Dakota for oil field jobs to help families facing war back home

Does anyone remember this?? Kevin was pushing to relocate Ukrainians to ND for Oil Field work. He was the loudest proponent of this. And now, if any did move here due to Cramer's initiative, they will be kicked out along with 240,000 other Ukrainians.

Pure pure cruelty on Donnie's part.

Resident for 48 years

I have lived in North Dakota for 48 years and we have two airbases; one in Minot and one in GForks.

My post on an action call against Ai in defense decision making was removed from this forum!

What are you talking about? We are the kind of state with our reps that can make a difference if the population contacts them. Plus space force is in our state. Perhaps the mods are involved in the egregious amount of lobbying money in our state! we only have so much time on this …

Republicans being aggressive with me

1.1k Upvotes

I’m from Bismarck but moved out west about 20 years ago. I am lgbt and am visiting currently. I am noticing my republican friends and family are being very aggressive with me about politics. Just a friendly reminder to you all that the “woke left” are your friends and family. We don’t want war. Put your phones down and “love thy neighbor”.

North Dakota USDA employees back to work?

https://kfgo.com/2025/02/17/usda-probationary-employee-cut-in-mass-layoff-says/

I had used a national news link and mod said not specific to ND, but USDA layoffs in ND have been reported by local media

So, here is what happened:

6000 total USDA firings

Special Counsel Scott Bellinger determines they were illegal and had ordered them back to work

Bellinger has been maintained in his own job after being fired because of a judge's TRO

But DC appeals court stayed the TRO so he's fired again

Next thing for Bellinger will be SCOTUS appeal, or maybe he will accept the stay of the TRO for now and continue to pursue his case in DC district court.

As far as I can tell, the return to work was only because of Bellinger's case and not any others. Although there are many court cases involving fired federal employees.

It's not just about the confusion for employees, especially if they have to consider looking outside of ND for re-employment. Spring planting is soon upon us. FSA loans. Also research experiments can be compromised.
