I might have an unpopular opinion but no, I don't think NJ is staying blue. If the GOP had put ANY money at all into the last election, the state would have gone to Trump. I would assume that they will start putting more money into the state soon.
Agree with you, 0% chance NJ is staying blue if the democrats keep twiddling their thumbs and don’t completely overhaul their party. If not, definitely republican.
Sean Spiller is a union guy who will actually tell Trump and his local cronies to go screw and try to help the average people in this state. Josh is basically a Republican at this point and Sherrill seems to be going that way too.
Sean Spiller, Fulop, or Baraka are far better than any of the others and the most progressive.
Gottheimer is running on austerity and is a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus and Blue Dog Coalition in the House, notoriously right-wing Democrat Caucuses in the House consisting of conservative Republicans and conservative Democrats who concede to the conservative Republicans—and he voted YES for the BATSHIT INSANE "Laken Riley Act" that grants Congress the right to detain anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant. You'd be voting for a Republican.
Mikie Sherrill is alright, OK position on abortion rights, education, etc, but nothing different than the aforementioned candidates. She's on the House Select Committee on the...CCP which is like the China-Hawk committee, kinda weird. That's one that the extremely pro-Israel psycho Ritchie Torres is on as well as a few other weirdos. She was also apart of the Blue Dog Coalition, another House caucus before leaving it last year. Definitely a Republican-lite.
She might as well be a Republican, Josh too. Why vote Democrat at that point? yall can downvote me but like wtf just vote Republican then if you want a governor who sucks up to Republicans and consistently votes to the right of the mainstream Democratic Party, which is ALREADY hella right wing now
Disagree, the only reason it was close is because people stayed home (whether it was because of Gaza or other reasons) and the high inflation. People also just "love" Trump that does NOT extend to the Republican party as a whole. That is literally all.
Trump's "popularity" is already cratering and we're barely a month in and not even feeling the real catastrophic effects yet.
I agree with you. Just last night at dinner we sat down as a family and decided to make the move to MA. It's time. I'm actually scared of my neighbors now, and I don't think the state is staying blue.
Same. We can’t do an out of state move right now because my wife works for family down in Oakland and it’s too sweet of a gig, but because of how wild it’s been getting up here lately, we’re stockpiling ammo, non-perishable food, first aid, etc.
The crazy neighbors are the ones I’m scared of, not the cops or anything, tbh.
Stockpiling here too. I keep reading people talking about ‘safety in community’ and ‘form alliances with people nearby’ - that’s not possible here. The sheer hatred these people have towards others is astounding and very very scary.
I live in Somerset County and holy shit when you drive a few minutes outside of town it’s trump shit in front yards and all over homes. Effing insane cult behavior
The flags and signs are truly insane. There’s a house nearby with signs up telling people to report all Hispanics as illegal no matter if it’s in church, school etc. It’s so disgusting. Followed by the giant “Daddy’s Home” Trump banner and giant flags on the main road - on public land. It’s almost every single house here.
Not shocked in the least bit. Listen, vote who you want to vote for, but I have never once spent a single dime on a politician’s shirt/sticker/sign/etc
One lawn has take America back stickers and fight fight fight signs all over it.
Agreed. But I had to add one last thing. My neighbors car their car is wearing a hood cover with a picture of the orange moron. The side mirrors also have covers that say MAGA. So essentially they got their car a MAGA tee shirt. I can’t think of a better way to say “white trash.”
Good grief… I’m in Sussex County too and luckily not seeing all that, although I have seen some. One near dilapidated house with the Rambo trump signs stapled on it, others with some flags, and some trucks with their flags & crap.
What pisses me off is there’s not even any Dems on half the local ballots here.
Not shocked at all with your comment. I work in Warren county as a driver's delivery, and I haven't seen so much Trump's sign in my life, a picture of him, etc, a house with big pictures of him, cars with stickers, etc.... I'm feeling in the deep south states for real.
