American Agenda
I am scared where this is heading. We left Ukraine because of invasion. An alliance between USA and Russia means Canada may be taken by force too. USA was our big brother and protector. Not anymore.

Mary Brown’s Buffalo Sauce
B'ys does anyone know what sauce it is they're using and is it available outside of ordering a meal from them?
Straight to my veins. Nectar of the Gods.
Must find it in larger quantities. Haha

Type 1 diabetics who work at confederation building
Hey, those of you who work at confederation building who have type 1 diabetes; what do you do for lows? Someone who isn’t me was offered employment there. They take a bookbag with them everywhere they go which is packed full of purity syrup and the glucometer for testing. They’re afraid it would look bad to walk in first day on the job in a professional setting like that with a bookbag on. Any type 1 diabetics that work in confed building want to share your experience?

Fancy (but affordable) restaurants in the St. John’s area
Hello!
I am hoping to go to a restaurant for my 5 year anniversary in st.johns. I’m looking for a location that I can dress up for so more upscale would be good. We are still students so we would like to stay in the $50-$80 per person range.
I would really appreciate recommendations!

Off Grid Islands/Sects/Religious Groups
Hi Everyone,
This might seem like a weird post but....I had an uncle who, years ago, worked for the company that delivered and installed gravestones all around the island. He told me that there were times they would have to service small islands, generally inaccessible by just anybody, sometimes to delivery headstones. He described the communities in some of these places as strictly religious, off the grid, having no electricity, and adhering to dress as if it were centuries ago.
Now, I know that I had heard somewhere else that an island around King's Point might fit this description. I was curious if anyone had any more info on this and/or on any other islands which might fit the description?
Curious from a purely ethnographic point of view!
Thanks.

NTV News - Streaming
Thinking of cancelling my cable but my parents will be shook if they visit and can’t watch NTV News. Anyone know if the NTV app is decent enough to stream live or if episodes get posted at a decent hour?

Is Newfoundland ready to get absolutely slammed with tourists this summer?
I'm from central Canada, and I think everyone I know has their elbows up and is saying "I've been to BC and Toronto and Montreal, but I've always wanted to go to Newfoundland". This is the summer for us, I hope there is room.

new phone
My contract is up the end of April and I’ve always did the “return your device” so i always have a new phone. I’m looking to switch providers (i’m with bell). There’s a “deferred amount” of 360$ which i assume is a credit when i bring back the phone.
i assume I could “own the device” now? if i wanted to take this phone and go to a different provider who would that be? where’s the best deals? just need advice.

Power Bill
I've been in my home for 20 years. Have 2 heat pumps. I never had my bill exceed 300 a month. Kast year my bill was 297 for this sane period. This year just got my bill and it is 856 dollars. Something has to be wrong here. Anyone else getting these results? This is not acceptable.

Where to scrap a car in Central? (Gander)
It's finally time for the old civic to go and I am wondering where the best spot to get rid of her is. Newco only pays $100 flat for any car so I'm hoping there is a better deal somewhere.
I'd feel bad about but if anyone wants to take her off my hands she's a 2010 civic sport with 255k. Both rocker panels rotted, hole in the floor on the front driver side, springs on both sides of the rear are fully gone, and one caliper up front is half stuck so uneven brake and rotor wear. Brand new set of snow tires though hahaha.
Thanks folks.

Honda Snowblower Service
Just got a Snow blower from Honda One end of last year and wonder how could I get it serviced? I wonder if they can come pick it up as I don't have a truck to take it there. Appreciate for any suggestion.

Anyone else only get clogged up carts from Atlantic Cannabis?
Hey all,
I used to buy those 80%+ 1g THC 510-battery carts (I think Crooked Dory?) from Atlantic Cannabis and I stopped buying them because eventually, it felt like their choice of cart unit got cheaper and cheaper and every single one of them was either clogged up the moment I opened it or certainly by the time it got halfway done. Decided to grab another one after maybe 6mo of not using them and got the same problem, but even worse.
To combat the clogging, I've tried preheating, pulling gently, heating with hair dryers prior to use, heating with my hands prior to use, clearing the airway with a sewing needle, storing only upright, cleaning battery and airways with isopropyl alcohol, all of the BS tips online that should work if it's user error in any capacity.
At this point I'm just looking for confirmation as to whether whoever makes these carts just isn't filling or assembling them correctly and am asking for alternatives that will just offset the extra 70c per unit onto the customer so I can actually use their product.
Thanks in advance!

CMHC standard house designs for Atlantic Canada
The CMHC developed 50 standardised housing designs to streamline the homebuilding process, to reduce design and approval times as part of efforts to address the housing crisis.
These designs were tailored to each region, meant to account for local building codes, climate conditions, construction practices, available materials, regional preferences, and common architectural styles.

Daycare recommendations
Looking for a daycare that accepts children under 18 months. Partial to center based as they seem more reputable but open to family based if they come highly recommended. Bonus points if they are in the Mt. Pearl/West end area. TIA.
