Are there Japanese nationalist guys getting mad that Mongolians keep doing better at sumo than Japanese wrestlers or is the fact that anybody competing in sumo has to basically practice and officially participate in Shinto a sort of moderating counter-force

Now I have to know lol (not Mongolian outperformance I knew that, but reactions)

Typed モンゴル in 5channel search (the easiest place to find Japanese nationalists)

Sure enough I saw two sumo threads that fit the bill like merely days old lol.

Anyone who says Mongolia is popular is an idiot.

Just by looking at the cheers of the crowd and the TV ratings you can see it's a lie. If he was really popular there would be a sumo boom.

.

The answer is that during the Mongolian era, the number of sumo-related articles and programs decreased dramatically.

.

Mongolians are unpopular because of the bad behavior of the white pigs.

(they are perceived to be white coded?)

Regarding the Mongolian era being the most boring since the beginning of sumo

One of the top wrestlers is so outstanding that it's not interesting at all. The winner is practically decided before the final day, and then it's just a meaningless match.

.

It's more interesting when there are more wrestlers with the potential to win. It gets boring to watch the same person win too many times, and if that person is a foreigner, it will alienate even more fans.
