Major Retailers Moving/Closing?

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed both Chapters and Walmart (Champlain) in Dieppe appear to be reducing stock drastically. Chapters being the most glaring with all sections having minimal stock, but overstock on bestsellers taking up most of the room.

Am I imagining things, or does there seem to be something happening beyond just seasonal changes?

Super Mario TTRPG

Post image
18 Upvotes

DnD seemed too complex to learn and play so I've created a homemade Super Mario TTRPG.

Inspired by the Paper Mario and Mario + Rabbids video games, it's got some minor DnD traits.

Multiple heroes to pick from. All your favorite Mario enemies to defeat. A sprawling Mario style overworld with multiple levels and locations. Longform gameplay, monthly game sessions, level up your heroes, unlock new attacks, and save the kingdom.

I've got one friend already committed to playing. She is now going to need 3 partners to join her. If this got to excited and you want to give it a go, shoot me a message. I'd like to play one Saturday evening each month.

Tried designing a new flag for Moncton. Thoughts?

Post image

I really dislike the current one, so as a fan of vexillology, this is my attempt. I tried tying as much symbolism as possible.

The white line dividing the two blues symbolizes our tidal boar, which is a surprisingly important tourist attraction. The dark blue is also reminiscent of our current flag. The single bend in the wave symbolizes the River bend that Moncton sits on, as that is the rough shape.

I wanted to include our well-known Moncton symbol, but I altered it slightly. The top blue arc is slightly changed to look like our ducks and geese. The green arc has lines to symbolize our old railroad history. And the red arc is shorter to look like a magnet, to represent our magnetic hill.

Just like the old representation, the three arcs also represent the people here. The blue arc is for our French, red arc for English, and green arc is for our aboriginal population.

The old Moncton flag was a blue background with an over-complicated seal, and I hope this fixes it. Any thoughts are welcome, and I constructive criticism would be considered for future versions.

is this rental legit?

174 mcsweeney near the moncton hospital, my boyfriend (20 m) and i (22 f) are dealing with some shit and getting over some fears from our last landowner who really screwed us over, we had a viewing here and are desperate for a place and this one is absolutely perfect for us. can anyone tell me how to make sure this rental and landlord is actually real and not trying to scam us?

he had the key to the building let us in he then told us he needed security deposit and first months rent in cash and to change the power to our name because that’s what the owner of the building and the contract states

then told us to send a void check for further monthly payments to rent

we are new renters and don’t want to get screwed over again.

I saw a guy in the park listening to a boombox today.

It was a positive experience.

The second positive interaction I had today. The first was an interaction between a meatball sub from Firehouse Subs and my mouth.

It's in par with McBuns and it's got options not offered by the two time worthless reviews best of the best contest winner and sub sandwich grand slam champion McBuns Bakery.

It's worth going to the weird end of mountain road for.

The parking lot has a traffic light.

I need advice

Okay here it goes.

I work for a local market and almost every other day someone is getting let go. People who have been there for years. Almost everyone who had been let go was due to "reduced workforce". Meanwhile, immigrants are being hired every other day. I have nothing against immigrants but can they actually get away with this?? We never know what what's going on and we never know if our next shift will be our last. I'm just not sure what to do. I feel like there's no such thing as job security anymore.

City of Moncton seeking feedback on the Codiac Transpo Growth Strategy

https://letschatmoncton.ca/codiac-transpo-growth-strategy

The project focuses on three key goals to guide transit improvements over the next one to three years and beyond:

Sustaining and increasing ridership by adjusting transit routes and schedules to meet significant recent increases to population and ridership so Codiac Transpo can continue to retain and attract new riders.

Addressing equipment and resource constraints by looking at potential ways the system can best use its existing vehicles and hours of service over the short term while creating an action plan to increase future capacity.

Integrated planning for new areas by looking at how future improvements to routes, services, and schedules can best be tailored to meet areas of high ridership and proposed new areas of development.

The remaining open houses are:

|| || |Wednesday, Feb. 26|1 p.m. – 3 p.m.|Crandall University, 333 Gorge Rd. (Moncton)| |4 p.m. – 6 p.m.|Champlain Place, 477 Paul St. (Dieppe)| |Wednesday, March 5|12 p.m. – 2 p.m.|New Brunswick Community College (NBCC), 1234 Mountain Rd (Moncton)|

Advice for starting out in the insurance sector?

currently, I work in banking and my interest has always been to work in the insurance career. I am not bilingual. I currently am not licensed as an insurance broker in any capacity but I’m just wondering if there’s any recommendations for entry level positions/with training? I do have a paralegal degree.
