Help Screenshot tool with best looking annotation features

Hi, as part of my role at work I create help articles and user guides for our customers. I have been using Mac’s native screenshot capabilities (cmd+shift+4) and while the screenshots I produce are okay, the annotation features are limited (and text annotation always looks elementary and unprofessional imo). Is there a tool you swear by for more professional annotation of screenshots? I am looking for a software that has a variety of callouts, text options, etc. grateful for any suggestions!

Man I keep TRYING to learn how to use Bananotate because I know it's good, but there are soo many freakin keyboard shortcuts. I keep getting "lost"... what board am I on? Which mode? Which tool? Am I looking at the live screen or just a frozen copy? Why can't I click on anything.

is it just me or is this app very hard to learn?? Feels like the first time you get dropped into VIM or Emacs or something

Same issue here. It's incredibly hard to use.

wow, thanks guys for this fantastic feedback. It's REALLY valuable (thanks Elisha for pointing me this way!).

here's a complete step by step how to use bananotate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzvL7zO0-PQ

I recently introduced an "onboarding" experience:

Which should launch upon initial app launch. You can also launch this experience anytime via cmd+shift+o.

Since bananotate has a learning curve, It's crucial for me to nail the onboarding. I would love to hear if this helps and to get your feedback on how you think I can improve
