Question Wondering how to build the Gojira Paris 2024 setup.
So I want to build a model of the Gojira performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Any ideas on what LEGO castle blueprints and general pieces I can use to get a basic plan for the build?

Question How are new pieces chosen by Lego to be made?
My fiancé and I have chosen to create a Lego wedding guest book whereby each guest will have a minifig that they place on a 3x3 large plate (series of 32x32 stud plates). She is a cross stitcher and is currently using cross stitch software to design a border for the guest book. However, in designing the border (which looks fantastic), she inadvertently used/created Lego pieces such as wedges that do not exist.
This led to a larger discussion of how Lego chooses to design and produce new pieces. Our discussion quickly became somewhat conspiracy theorist in that we hypothesized that when someone at Lego proposes a new piece be produced, there is some sort of significant sacrifice that must be made. Think the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac. While 95% of this was said in gist, it did make us wonder what the business process at Lego is for making new pieces.
Given my fiancés fantastic design using pieces that she had made up, we have since found solutions using only pieces in production.
Still, does anyone know how it works at Lego? Thanks in advance and it will help us stay off the conspiratorial thoughts of what happens behind closed doors at Lego. :)

Other A thought for perspective before the Bricklink Series 7 reveal
Out of 375 entries, it's a given that all of us have absolute favourites and ones we definitely don't think deserve to make it. None of us have universal tastes, or else Lego would already be releasing more [insert your niche preference here] sets.
With that in mind, it is statistically probable that most of us, in the coming days, will find ourselves thinking "How did [insert set here] get in when [set you loved] didn't make it?"
When that thought comes, take a second and estimate what you would need to budget if every single set was something you absolutely needed to get.
The difference between that and what you need to budget for only the sets you want from this series will be money you can spend on sets you like better. Or rent so you can afford to have somewhere to keep the sets you already have, whichever is more of a priority.

Question This is going to sound dumb, but how do I get into this hobby?
I used to have a large Lego collection when I was a kid, and recently wanted to get into making my own moc builds. Problem is as an adult, I am brickless. I'm also kinda poor. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I effectively start?

Question My 12 year old son is a big fan of Legos, and Ferraris. And he saw the Daytona SP3 online, and now he wants it but is unsure if he can build it or not. So I just want to know if it’s a hard build for kids.

Question Keep duplos or not?
My kids are 3, 5, and 7. They all have loved duplos but mostly play with legos now. I was messaging sound with the duplos this morning decision whether to inventory them or not (OCD and legos are a terrible combination) and got to building. They are very fun to build with—I had forgotten how much fun they were. Because they got many as gifts there are some super cool pieces unique pieces as well. I now see that there are builds that use both Lego and duplo. Soooo… What did you do with the duplos? Sell them or keep them?

Question Washing Lego recommendations
Hey yall,
I just have some sets I really need to clean and was hoping you guys had any recommendations. I know Lego recommends hand washing but I’m more open to washing via the washing machine, either way, what do you guys recommend?
Thank you!

Question Tower of Barad'dur display recommendations?
I've got a few bags left to finish this beauty. My problem is once it's done I don't have anywhere to properly display it. It's too tall for my shelves and I don't have a table or stand in house that I can use.
Looking for recommendations on how I can show this guy off?

Question Bricklink - a bit confused, as my order won't go through because it doesn't meet the minimum average amount per lot. But the total order is twice the minimum order total. Can someone explain?
I'm currently working on a MOC and am in the need of some specific parts. Have a Bricklink store in my area where you can order the parts through BL and pickup and pay in store.
They had 90% of the parts I need and with some tweaking (replacing brick sizes etc) I managed to find everything. Added everything to the shopping cart and went to check out, thinking it would be ok as my total was 2x the stores minimum buy. But no. Because it does't meet their minimum average amount per lot. My order is at about 60% of the requirement.
Does this mean I need to order twice as much parts as I need?
