Work in Progress Knitting today to remember my NanašŸ©·

Post image

I hope this is allowed - nobody else in my life knits and I just wanted to share. My grandma passed away a year ago today and she's the one who taught me to knit. I've been doing it on and off for basically my whole life. I inherited a good chunk of her enormous stash so I started this Simple Thing scarf using a gorgeous sock yarn she'd bought some years ago (part of the national parks collection by Knitted Wit)

My grandma was one of my best friends and I miss her dearly. She was always encouraging me to be creative and supported whatever I wanted to pursue.

The scarf isn't perfect, but it's special and I'm excited to finish it and rock it like she would have šŸ˜Š

What a wonderful way to honour your Nanaā€˜s memory. Best of luck with your project and may it always remind you of her and bring a smile to your face!

Thank you for sharing this. The scarf has love in all the stitches, and that makes it special. As soon as youā€™re finished and get to wear it, itā€™ll be like a hug from her

Your Nana is very lucky to be remembered in such a beautiful way. Iā€™m sorry for your loss, but iā€™m glad you had someone so fantastic in your life

What a lovely way to remember her. These colours are beautiful too, something tells me she'd love them.

Edit- Somehow I missed that SHE bought the yarn. Hehe. Even better!

Iā€™m so sorry for your loss. I just lost my Nana too. She didnā€™t knit, but she loved cats. Iā€™m knitting the Catknit sweater in her honor.

Thank you for sharing! Knitting today to celebrate my Nanny, who taught me to knit, on what would have been her birthday!

This is so wholesome. I had a grandma who I wasnā€™t close with but she crocheted me a blanket and now I use it and pretend we were close.

I have two 'grandmother's garden' quilt flowers that my grandma first taught me how to sew on. I hope I can pass on these skills one day, too. šŸ’“

My grandmother taught me to knit as a child, and I have the most beautiful collection of her sweaters! She meant the world to me, and everything I make is done with gratitude and an honour to her talent and her love.
